CamelBak built its name on the bite valve, and the Eddy+ is the bottle most people think of. But the range now includes magnetic spouts, soft chug spouts, bike bottles and steel tumblers, and the listings mostly differ by color. How you like to drink is the real decision here.
This guide is for buyers who have settled on CamelBak and want the right model. It says who each one suits and where the brand falls short, and it names competitors. To compare with other makers, read our water bottle guide.

Quick verdict: which CamelBak water bottle to buy
Buy the Eddy+ Tritan 25 Ounce if you like to sip through a straw: light, leak resistant and well reviewed. Choose the Eddy+ Insulated for cold water, the Chute Mag for fast gulps and the Podium Chill for a bike cage.

Our picks for the best camelbak water bottle
Eight models and sizes, one listing each.
1. CamelBak Eddy+ Tritan Bottle, 25 Ounce – Flip, Bite, Sip

The Eddy+ is the bottle most people mean when they say CamelBak. You flip up the straw, bite the valve and sip, and the bottle stays upright while you do it. GearLab’s June 2022 review of the Eddy+ Tritan Renew earned it a Best Buy. Reviewer Jane Jackson says the spout and straw “didn’t leak at all,” and that after an electrolyte mix it “only took a few rinses and a swish of the bottle brush” to clean.
She also found that the 32-ounce she tested is less accommodating in cup holders, while smaller sizes fit well. That is why we recommend this 25-ounce. The body is plastic, so it could shatter if dropped far enough, she notes. The listing describes a lightweight Tritan body resistant to odors and stains and an integrated handle. It weighs 0.38 pounds on the listing, far less than a steel bottle of that size.
Why we like it
- GearLab reported no leaks from spout or straw
- Light, per the listing
- Rinses clean, per GearLab
- Comes apart for cleaning, per GearLab

Why we recommend it
It suits people who like to sip constantly at a desk, in a car or on a walk, and want something light.
Skip it if you dislike biting a valve: the listing says you have to bite it to drink.
Pros and cons
Pros
- Strong independent report
- Very light
- Leak-resistant closed
Cons
- Plastic body
- Bite valve needs regular cleaning
- No insulation
2. CamelBak Eddy+ Insulated Bottle, 20 Ounce – Cold Water, Same Straw

Same bite valve, but in double-wall stainless steel so water stays cold for longer, and the powder coat gives some grip. It holds 20 ounces and weighs 0.73 pounds on the listing, about twice the weight of the larger Tritan bottle. The listing mentions cold only, so assume it is meant for cold drinks.
We should pass on the mixed report about this line. BabyGearLab’s August 2025 review of the kids’ stainless Eddy+ says the o-ring cannot be removed for cleaning, which allows mold to build up, and calls that a real limit on the bottle’s life. If you buy this, plan on cleaning the lid carefully and often.
Why we like it
- Vacuum insulated steel, per the listing
- Bite valve straw
- Integrated handle
Key specifications

Why we recommend it
It suits people who want the Eddy straw and cold water in the Texas heat.
Skip it if you want the easiest bottle to keep clean; BabyGearLab found the stainless Eddy+ o-ring cannot be removed.
Pros and cons
Pros
- Keeps water colder than Tritan
- Handle for carrying
- Lifetime guarantee stated
Cons
- O-ring not removable, per BabyGearLab on the stainless Eddy+
- Much heavier than Tritan
- Bite valve
3. CamelBak Chute Mag Tritan Bottle, 32 Ounce – Fast Drinking, No Straw

The Chute Mag replaces the straw with a spout and a cap held open by a magnet, so it does not swing into your face while you drink. GearLab’s 2026 roundup lists the Chute Mag Renew as lightweight, inexpensive and made with recycled materials, though not insulated, and says the twist cap is not especially user-friendly. The listing says bottle and cap are dishwasher safe, which sets it apart from the straw models.
A 25-ounce version appears on our water bottle guide, so we pick the 32 here for those who want more volume. It stands 9.65 inches on the listing. Expect a bigger bottle to fit fewer cup holders.
Why we like it
- Magnetic cap stays out of the way, per the listing
- Dishwasher safe, per the listing
- Light, per the listing
- GearLab lists it among its reviewed bottles
Key specifications
| Model | 2469001001 |
|---|---|

| Lid or spout | Spout, magnetic cap |
| Body | Tritan plastic |
| Insulated | No |
| Dishwasher (listing) | Yes |
| Weight (listing) | 0.42 lb |
| Warranty | Got Your Bak lifetime guarantee |
Why we recommend it
It suits gym-goers and people who want big gulps, not sips.
Skip it if you want water kept cold for hours; it is not insulated.
Pros and cons
Pros
- Fast flow, by design
- Dishwasher safe
- Light
Cons
- Not insulated
- Twist cap not user-friendly, per GearLab
- Large for cup holders
4. CamelBak Thrive Chug Tritan Bottle, 32 Ounce – A Newer, Softer Spout

The Thrive line is newer, and we found no independent review of it. The listing describes a soft chug spout with fast flow, a leak-resistant lid, a Tritan Renew body, an integrated handle and dishwasher-safe components. It stands 10.7 inches tall on the listing and weighs 0.44 pounds.
We include it because it fills a gap: a soft mouthpiece for people who dislike hard plastic spouts, without the bite valve. We rely on the listing here, and say so plainly. If you want reviewed performance, take the Eddy+ or Chute Mag.
Why we like it
- Soft spout, per the listing
- Dishwasher-safe parts, per the listing
- Integrated handle
Key specifications
| Model | 2925001001 |
|---|---|
| Capacity | 32 oz |
| Lid or spout | Soft chug spout |
| Body | Tritan Renew plastic |
| Insulated | No |
| Dishwasher (listing) | Yes |
| Weight (listing) | 0.44 lb |
| Warranty | Got Your Bak lifetime guarantee |
Why we recommend it
It suits someone who wants large gulps from a softer mouthpiece.
Skip it if you want to buy only what independent reviewers have tried; we found no review of it.
Pros and cons
Pros
- Soft spout
- Dishwasher safe
- Light
Cons
- Listing-only evidence
- Not insulated
- Tall

5. CamelBak Thrive Flip Straw Tritan Bottle, 25 Ounce – A Straw With No Bite

If you like an upright straw but dislike the bite valve, this is the alternative. The listing describes an easy straw that does not need biting, a lid that is leak resistant when closed, a Tritan body, an integrated handle and dishwasher-safe components.
We read no independent test of it, so this pick rests on the listing. Remember that leak resistant when closed is not the same as sealed, and that any straw has parts that need cleaning. The clear body lets you see when it needs a wash.
Why we like it
- No biting needed, per the listing
- Dishwasher safe, per the listing
- Clear body
Key specifications
| Model | 2853102075 |
|---|---|
| Capacity | 25 oz |
| Lid or spout | Flip straw |
| Body | Tritan plastic |
| Insulated | No |
| Dishwasher (listing) | Yes |
| Weight (listing) | 0.41 lb |
| Warranty | Got Your Bak lifetime guarantee |
Why we recommend it
It suits people who want the upright sip of a straw and would rather not bite a valve.
Skip it if you want reviewed performance; this one is listing-only.
Pros and cons
Pros
- Simple straw
- Dishwasher safe
- See-through
Cons
- Listing-only evidence
- Not insulated
- Straw parts to clean
6. CamelBak Podium Chill Bottle, 21 Ounce – Squeeze It on a Ride

This is a bike bottle, not a desk bottle. You squeeze the soft body and the self-sealing cap lets water flow, and it fits most bike cages according to the listing. The Chill version has double-wall insulation, which the listing says keeps water cold twice as long as a single wall, and it weighs just 0.22 pounds.
There is one recall to know. In June 2021, CPSC recall 21-149 covered certain caps sold with Podium and Peak Fitness bottles, with date codes H19039, H19063 and H19175 on the underside, because a small silicone valve can come loose and pose a choking hazard. Those are older caps. CamelBak offered free replacements, and a new bottle today should not carry those codes, but check the underside of any older cap you own.
Why we like it
- Fits most bike cages, per the listing
- Insulated body, per the listing
- Very light
Key specifications
| Model | 1874001062 |
|---|---|
| Capacity | 21 oz |
| Lid or spout | Self-sealing squeeze cap |
| Body | Squeeze bottle, double wall |
| Insulated | Double wall |
| Dishwasher (listing) | Not stated on this listing |
| Weight (listing) | 0.22 lb |
| Warranty | Not stated on this listing |
Why we recommend it
It suits cyclists who want cold water from a cage.
Skip it if you are not on a bike: a squeeze body is little use at a desk.
Pros and cons
Pros
- Made for bike cages
- Light
- Double wall
Cons
- Older caps were recalled; check date codes
- Listing-only evidence
- Not for hot drinks
7. CamelBak Eddy+ Kids Bottle, 14 Ounce – A Lunchbox-Size Bite Valve

The small Eddy+ uses the same flip, bite and sip design, in 14 ounces of light plastic, and the listing says it is leak resistant when closed. The listing gives no age range, so we do not give one either. Follow CamelBak’s packaging and your own judgment about whether your child can use a bite valve.
BabyGearLab’s August 2025 review is cautious about this line: plastic body and mouthpiece, minimal insulation, and an o-ring that cannot be removed for cleaning, so mold can build up. Its writer says “The inability to clean the gasket to prevent mold growth significantly limits this bottle’s longevity.” Clean the lid and straw often, and replace parts as CamelBak directs. Our kids water bottle guide covers bottles that BabyGearLab rated more highly.
Why we like it
- Light and small, per the listing
- Leak resistant when closed, per the listing
- Integrated handle
Key specifications
| Model | 2472403041 |
|---|---|
| Capacity | 14 oz |
| Lid or spout | Bite valve straw |
| Body | Plastic |
| Insulated | No |
| Dishwasher (listing) | Not stated on this listing |
| Weight (listing) | 0.22 lb |
| Warranty | Got Your Bak lifetime guarantee |
Why we recommend it
It suits a family already happy with the bite valve who want a light school bottle.
Skip it if easy cleaning matters most: BabyGearLab found the gasket cannot be cleaned properly.
Pros and cons
Pros
- Light
- Small hands can carry it by the handle, per the listing
- Lifetime guarantee stated
Cons
- O-ring not removable, per BabyGearLab
- No age range on the listing
- No insulation
8. CamelBak Insulated Tumbler, 20 Ounce – Hot Coffee, Three Lid Modes

This is the CamelBak for hot drinks. The double-wall steel tumbler has a tri-mode lid with several drinking settings, a silicone base that resists sliding, and it fits most cup holders according to the listing. Dishwasher-safe components are listed too. It weighs 0.69 pounds.
The listing says it helps reduce spills, which is not the same as leakproof, so do not put it in a bag. It is not a water bottle at all, and we read no independent test of it. For more options, see our tumbler guide.
Why we like it
- Insulated for hot or cold, per the listing
- Tri-mode lid
- Non-slip base
- Dishwasher-safe parts, per the listing
Key specifications
| Model | 2389301060 |
|---|---|
| Capacity | 20 oz |
| Lid or spout | Tri-mode lid |
| Body | 18/8 stainless steel |
| Insulated | Yes |
| Dishwasher (listing) | Yes |
| Weight (listing) | 0.69 lb |
| Warranty | Got Your Bak lifetime guarantee |
Why we recommend it
It suits a CamelBak owner who also wants a coffee cup for a desk or car.
Skip it if it needs to travel in a bag; the lid is spill resistant only.
Pros and cons
Pros
- Works with hot drinks
- Stable base
- Fits most cup holders, per the listing
Cons
- Not leakproof
- Listing-only evidence
- Not a water bottle
Where CamelBak falls short, and who to look at instead
- Cleaning the bite valve. GearLab’s 2019 review of the original Eddy+ found the straw and valve collect dirt and mold and are hard to clean, and its Tritan Renew review from 2022 found the newer bottle easier. BabyGearLab says the o-ring in the kids’ bottle and the stainless Eddy+ cannot be removed.
- Durability of plastic. GearLab points out that a Tritan bottle can shatter if dropped far enough, and BabyGearLab raises questions about long-term durability.
- Insulation. Most of this range is plain plastic. If you want cold water for hours, GearLab’s overall favorite is the Hydro Flask Wide Mouth.
- Named rivals. If you like a straw and want a swig option too, GearLab picks the Owala FreeSip Sway for easy sipping. For kids, BabyGearLab praises the ThermoFlask Kids and YETI Rambler Jr. for easy cleaning. See our kids water bottle guide.

How to choose a CamelBak bottle
1. Decide how you like to drink
Bite valve for sipping, straw without a bite for easy sipping, spout for big gulps, squeeze for a bike. This matters more than anything else about the bottle.
2. Choose plastic or steel
Tritan is much lighter. Steel is heavier, about twice the weight in these listings, and keeps water cold. In the Houston heat, many people will want the steel, but on easy days the lighter bottle is fine.
3. Take the cup holder seriously
GearLab found the 32-ounce Eddy+ a poor fit in many cup holders, while smaller sizes fit well. Pick 25 ounces or less if the car matters.

4. Plan your cleaning
Take the lid apart often, and use a brush. Replacement straws and caps are sold separately, so a tired part need not end the bottle’s life. Reviewers warn more about neglected valves than about anything else.
How we chose these eight bottles
We pulled CamelBak listings from the Amazon API on November 3, 2026, kept those new, in plain stock and sold by Amazon, and chose one per model and size. We read GearLab’s two Eddy+ reviews and its 2026 roundup, and BabyGearLab’s kids bottle review. Outside’s kids bottle story would not open, so we do not cite it. We also read the CPSC recall on Podium caps. We did not test anything ourselves.
CamelBak bottle questions, answered
Is the CamelBak Eddy+ leakproof?
GearLab found no leaks from the spout or straw in its 2022 review. CamelBak’s listing says spill resistant, so close it before it goes in a bag.
Is CamelBak dishwasher safe?
The Chute Mag, Thrive and tumbler listings say so. The Eddy+ listings here do not state it, so check with CamelBak or wash by hand.
What age is the CamelBak Eddy+ Kids for?
The listing gives no age, and we do not guess. Follow CamelBak’s packaging, and check your child can use a bite valve.
Has CamelBak been recalled?
CPSC recall 21-149, from June 2021, covered certain caps on Podium and Peak Fitness bottles with date codes H19039, H19063 and H19175. Check older caps. New listings should not be affected, but check cpsc.gov for your own product.
Our final pick from the CamelBak range
Start with the Eddy+ Tritan 25 Ounce, and clean the valve more often than you think you should. Then add steel if you want cold water. After a long hot ride, call to order from Julia’s at (346) 546-8283.
