Big Burners, Big Batches: The Best 14 Non Stick Frying Pan

Eight true 14-inch nonstick frying pans, from Tramontina and Rachael Ray to restaurant-supply Update and Vollrath, and how to pick one for your stove.

Shrimp searing in a frying pan, with room between each one.

A 14-inch frying pan is the size you reach for when a 12-inch is not enough: fajitas for six, a whole package of chicken thighs in one layer, a big batch of breakfast potatoes. Making it nonstick means eggs, fish and anything with cheese slide out and the pan cleans up fast. The catch is that big nonstick pans are heavy, need a large burner and, if they are bare aluminum, will not work on induction.

This guide covers eight true 14-inch nonstick frying pans, from home brands such as Tramontina, Rachael Ray and OXO to restaurant-supply pans from Update International, Vollrath and Thunder Group. Our main guide to the best nonstick pans covers the everyday sizes, and we have not repeated its picks or the picks on our other frying pan pages.

Quick verdict: which 14-inch nonstick pan to buy

For most kitchens, the best 14 non stick frying pan is the Tramontina Professional 14-inch Ceramic: heavy-gauge aluminum, oven-safe to 500°F and a lifetime warranty. If you want a helper handle to lift a full pan, choose the Rachael Ray Cucina Hard-Anodized 14-inch. On induction, the Rachael Ray Create Delicious 14.5-inch has a stainless steel base plate that works on every cooktop.

Our picks for the best 14 non stick frying pan

Every pan below is a true 14-inch or larger open frying pan with a nonstick coating, in stock when we checked. Five come from home cookware brands and three from restaurant suppliers, which tend to state less about care but are built to be worked hard and replaced. None comes with a lid; our 12-inch nonstick pan with lid guide covers covered pans.

1. Tramontina Professional 14-inch Ceramic Nonstick Fry Pan – Restaurant Build, Ceramic Coating

Best overallTramontina Professional 14-Inch Ceramic Non Stick Extra Large Frying Pan

Tramontina’s Professional line is the plain, heavy-gauge aluminum pan you see hanging in restaurant kitchens, and this is its 14-inch size with a ceramic nonstick coating. The listing describes heavy-gauge aluminum for fast, even heat, a reinforced ceramic nonstick surface and a removable soft-grip silicone sleeve on the handle.

A 14-inch pan is about volume: a full batch of fajita peppers and onions, chicken thighs in one layer, or six eggs at once. Tramontina rates this one oven-safe to 500°F, which is high for a nonstick pan and lets you finish a frittata or a pan of enchiladas under heat. It is dishwasher safe, made in Brazil and backed by a lifetime warranty, per the listing.

Two cautions. The listing says it works on gas, electric and ceramic glass but not induction. And Tramontina itself asks buyers to check the dimension diagram, because a 14-inch pan needs a big burner and real storage space. Our ceramic nonstick guide features the 10-inch version of this pan; this is the same line in the size this page is about.

Why we like it

  • Heavy-gauge aluminum body
  • Oven-safe to 500°F, per the listing
  • Removable silicone handle sleeve
  • Lifetime warranty, made in Brazil

2. Rachael Ray Cucina Hard-Anodized 14-inch Frying Pan – Helper Handle for a Full Pan

Best hard-anodizedRachael Ray Cucina Hard-Anodized Nonstick Frying Pan

Hard-anodized aluminum is aluminum treated to make the surface harder and darker, and Rachael Ray’s Cucina line uses it for a sturdier body than plain aluminum. This 14-inch skillet adds a helper handle opposite the main handle, which matters when the pan is full of rice or a family-sized batch of carnitas and you need two hands to move it.

Both handles have silicone grips and are attached with double rivets, per the listing. The pan is oven-safe to 400°F, dishwasher safe and works on every stovetop except induction. The listing promises easy release, even for eggs, but does not name the nonstick coating.

The listing text mentions shatter-resistant glass lids, but the title and size describe a single 14-inch frying pan with a helper handle, so do not count on a lid unless the order page shows one. Rachael Ray’s maker, Meyer, offers a lifetime limited warranty on it, per the listing.

Why we like it

  • Hard-anodized aluminum body
  • Helper handle for lifting a full pan
  • Oven-safe to 400°F
  • Lifetime limited warranty

Key specifications

3. Rachael Ray Create Delicious 14.5-inch Nonstick Fry Pan – Steel Base Works on Every Cooktop

Best for inductionRachael Ray Create Delicious Nonstick Fry Pan/Skillet with Helper Handle

Big nonstick pans that work on induction are surprisingly rare, because most are bare aluminum. This Rachael Ray Create Delicious pan has a stainless steel plate on its base, and the listing says that makes it compatible with all cooktops, induction included. At 14.5 inches it is the widest pan on this page.

The body is aluminum for quick heating, and the coating is what the listing calls PlatinumShield, a reinforced silver nonstick. The handles are dual-riveted stainless steel with silicone, with a helper handle for lifting, and the pan is dishwasher safe.

The listing does not give an oven-safe temperature or a warranty term, so check the box or Meyer’s care card before you put it in the oven. Its claim that the coating is nine times harder than titanium is the maker’s marketing comparison; we have no independent figure to check it against.

Why we like it

  • Stainless steel base plate for induction
  • 14.5 inches, the widest here
  • Dual-riveted stainless and silicone handles
  • Dishwasher safe

Key specifications

Model Rachael Ray 12024
Size 14.5 in, helper handle

4. OXO 14-inch Non-Stick Every Day Frying Pan – Ceramic Coating and Rolled Rims

Best ceramic coatingOXO 14” Non-Stick Every Day Frying Pan with Helper Handle

OXO’s Every Day pan uses a ceramic nonstick coating that the listing says is made without intentionally added PFAS and reinforced with diamonds for durability. If you want to avoid PTFE coatings, this and the Tramontina are the two ceramic options on this page.

The body is aluminum, the main handle is stainless steel wrapped in BPA-free silicone, and there is a helper handle. Rolled edges let you pour off fat or a pan sauce without drips. OXO rates it oven-safe to 392°F and suitable for every stovetop except induction. It is dishwasher safe, though OXO recommends hand washing, which is good practice for any ceramic coating.

One detail to check: the title says 14 inches, while the listing’s size field reads 13-inch frying pan skillet. Makers often measure rim to rim, so the flat cooking floor will be smaller either way. The listing does not state a warranty term.

Why we like it

  • Ceramic nonstick made without intentionally added PFAS, per OXO
  • Rolled edges for drip-free pouring
  • Silicone-wrapped handle plus helper handle
  • Oven-safe to 392°F

Key specifications

Model OXO CC011404-001
Size 14 in (title); size field says 13 in
Body Aluminum
Coating Diamond-reinforced ceramic nonstick
Stovetops All except induction
Oven safe 392°F
Dishwasher Yes; hand wash recommended
Warranty (as stated) Not stated

Why we recommend it

It suits a cook who wants a big ceramic-coated pan from a well-known maker, with a helper handle and pour-friendly rims.

Skip it if you want the highest oven rating or an induction base; this pan has neither.

Pros and cons

Pros

  • Ceramic coating, PFAS statement from the maker
  • Comfortable handles
  • Pour spouts on every side

Cons

  • Lowest oven rating here
  • Not induction compatible
  • Listed size is inconsistent

5. Update International 14-inch Quantum2 Fry Pan – Riveted Handle, Ready to Hang

Hangs on a rackUpdate International AFQ-14H Alum Fry Pan14in Molded Handle Quantum2 Coated

Update International supplies restaurant smallwares, and the AFQ-14H is its 14-inch aluminum fry pan with a Quantum2 nonstick coating. The listing says it suits heavy work in a home or a restaurant, with a molded handle held by three rivets and a hole in the handle so it can hang on a rack.

The listing is short. It does not give the thickness, oven limit, dishwasher use, cooktop compatibility or a warranty, and we could not find a maker’s spec sheet for this model, so we show those as not stated. It calls Quantum2 a ceramic coating, while other restaurant pans sold with the same coating simply call it nonstick, so do not buy it expecting a ceramic pan.

Restaurant pans are bought to be replaced when the coating wears, and that is the honest way to think about this one: a plain 14-inch pan to hang by the stove. Keep it off induction, since nothing in the listing says it has a magnetic base.

Why we like it

  • Quantum2 nonstick, per the listing
  • Three-rivet molded handle
  • Hanging hole in the handle
  • Aluminum body

Key specifications

Model Update International AFQ-14H
Size 14 in
Body Aluminum; thickness not stated
Coating Quantum2 nonstick
Stovetops Not stated; no induction base
Oven safe Not stated
Dishwasher Not stated
Warranty (as stated) Not stated

Why we recommend it

It suits a cook who wants a plain restaurant-style pan to hang by the stove and expects to replace it when the coating is spent.

Skip it if you want oven limits and care spelled out; the listing does not give them.

Pros and cons

Pros

  • Simple commercial shape
  • Riveted handle
  • Hangs for storage

Cons

  • No helper handle
  • Not for induction
  • Most specifications not stated

6. Anolon Advanced Home 14.5-inch Skillet – Hard-Anodized With a Helper Handle

Hard-anodized pickAnolon Advanced Home Hard Anodized Nonstick Frying Pan

The Anolon Advanced Home skillet is a 14.5-inch hard-anodized pan from a home cookware maker, and it comes with a helper handle for lifting it full. Anolon says the hard-anodized build is twice as hard as stainless steel and heats quickly and evenly, and the exterior has a stain-resistant nonstick finish as well as the cooking surface.

The main handle is Anolon’s SureGrip design, and the pan is oven safe to 400°F, per the listing, so it can finish a frittata or keep a batch of fajita vegetables warm. Anolon backs it with a limited lifetime warranty.

The listing does not state dishwasher use or cooktop compatibility, and hard-anodized aluminum needs a magnetic base to work on induction, which the listing does not mention. At 14.5 inches it is also one of the two largest pans here, so measure your burner and your oven rack first.

Why we like it

  • 14.5-inch hard-anodized pan
  • SureGrip main handle and helper handle
  • Oven safe to 400°F (listing)
  • Limited lifetime warranty (listing)

Why we recommend it

It suits a home cook who wants a big hard-anodized pan with a handle at each end and a long warranty.

Pros and cons

Pros

  • Helper handle

7. Vollrath Wear-Ever 14-inch CeramiGuard II Fry Pan – Commercial Pan With a Cool Handle

Best restaurant-supply panVollrath 14" Wear-Ever® CeramiGuard II Fry Pan w/ Handle

Vollrath sells its Wear-Ever aluminum cookware to restaurant kitchens, and this 14-inch fry pan is made in the USA, according to Vollrath. Retailers list it as 6 gauge aluminum. Its CeramiGuard II coating is a nonstick finish that retailers describe as PFOA-free; despite the name, the listing does not call it a sol-gel ceramic, so treat it as a conventional reinforced nonstick.

The Cool Handle has a removable silicone sleeve, and the listing says the handle is oven safe to 450°F. The pan measures 10-7/8 inches across the bottom and 2-1/2 inches high, per the listing, which tells you how much flat cooking floor a 14-inch rim really gives you. The handle is attached with Vollrath’s EverTite rivets, and the pan is NSF certified, per retailers.

Vollrath’s own product page lists a 90-day limited warranty, the shortest here, which reflects how restaurants buy these pans. Our commercial frying pan guide features the 10-inch Wear-Ever; this is the same line in the 14-inch size.

Why we like it

  • Made in the USA, per Vollrath
  • 6 gauge aluminum (retailers)
  • Handle oven safe to 450°F
  • Stated bottom diameter so you know the cooking area

Skip it if warranty length matters; Vollrath’s is 90 days.

Pros and cons

Pros

  • US-made commercial build
  • Removable Cool Handle sleeve
  • Honest dimensions in the listing

Cons

  • Short warranty
  • No helper handle
  • Same line as a pick on our commercial pan page (different size)

8. Thunder Group Quantum II 14-inch Nonstick Fry Pan – Three-Layer Coating, Riveted Handle

Simplest commercial panThunder Group 14 Inch Aluminum Alloy Professional Quantum II Nonstick Fry Pan

Thunder Group supplies smallwares to restaurants, and this is its 14-inch aluminum alloy fry pan with Quantum II nonstick. The listing describes three layers of Quantum II coating, a riveted handle, commercial-grade construction and NSF approval.

Restaurant retailers list it at 3.5 mm thick, about 4.5 pounds, with an 11.75-inch handle and no lid. That is a solid weight for a pan this size, with a long handle that keeps your hand back from a hot burner.

This is the barest listing on the page: it does not state oven temperature, dishwasher use, cooktop compatibility or a warranty term. What it offers is a straightforward 14-inch commercial nonstick pan from an identifiable restaurant supplier. Treat it as a pan you will replace when the coating wears, and keep it off induction, since nothing in the listing says it has a magnetic base.

Why we like it

  • Three-layer Quantum II nonstick
  • NSF approved, per the listing
  • 3.5 mm aluminum alloy (retailers)
  • Long riveted handle

How to choose a 14-inch nonstick pan

At this size, the questions are less about the coating and more about whether the pan fits your stove, your arms and your cupboard.

Check your burner and cooktop

A 14-inch pan needs a large burner, or the edges stay cooler than the center. Measure your biggest burner first. If you cook on induction, only one pan here, the Rachael Ray Create Delicious, has a stated induction base; the rest are aluminum without a steel plate.

Know the real cooking floor

Pans are sold by rim diameter, but you cook on the flat bottom. Vollrath states a 10-7/8-inch bottom for its 14-inch pan, a useful reminder that flared sides take up several inches. If you need a larger flat area, a griddle or a straight-sided sauté pan gives more floor for the same width.

Helper handle and weight

A full 14-inch pan is heavy. A helper handle on the far side, as on the two Rachael Ray pans and the OXO, lets you lift it with both hands. Restaurant pans skip it to save space on the line, so lift them by the main handle with a towel under the far side.

Coating type

Most nonstick coatings are PTFE-based; the ceramic coatings on the Tramontina and OXO are the alternative, and OXO states its coating is made without intentionally added PFAS. Whichever you choose, treat it gently: medium heat, a little fat and wooden or silicone tools.

Oven rating and care

Oven limits on this page run from 392°F to 500°F, and several listings give none. If you finish dishes in the oven, buy a pan with a stated rating. Hand washing extends any nonstick coating’s life, even when the maker says dishwasher safe.

How we chose these eight 14-inch pans

We searched Amazon for nonstick frying pans of 14 inches or more and kept only open frying pans that were in stock when we checked, leaving out woks, sauté pans, sets and pans with built-in lids. Specifications come from the Amazon listing, the maker’s page or named restaurant-supply retailers, and our research notes record which. We left out every pan already picked on our nonstick, frying pan and lidded 14-inch pages; the Tramontina and Vollrath pans are 14-inch sizes of lines that appear on other pages in smaller sizes, and we say so in their reviews. Enameled pans were not part of this list. We checked the US Consumer Product Safety Commission’s recall listings for these brands and found no recall covering these pans. We have not used these pans ourselves, and we list no prices because they change.

Big nonstick pan questions, answered

Is a 14-inch frying pan too big for a home stove?

Not if you have one large burner. On a small burner the center gets hot and the edges stay cool, so preheat longer on medium and turn the food around as it cooks.

Do 14-inch nonstick pans work on induction?

Only if they have a magnetic base. Of these eight, the Rachael Ray Create Delicious is the one whose listing states induction compatibility.

What can I cook in a 14-inch nonstick pan?

Fajita vegetables, a full layer of chicken or fish, large omelets and frittatas, hash browns, fried rice and anything else that needs space so it browns instead of steaming.

Can I use metal utensils on these pans?

Follow each maker’s guidance, but wooden, silicone or nylon tools are kinder to any nonstick coating. Our fish spatula for nonstick pans guide covers tools that will not scratch.

How long does a nonstick coating last?

It depends on heat and care. High heat, empty preheating and the dishwasher all shorten it, which is why restaurants treat these pans as replaceable.

Our final word on 14-inch nonstick pans

The Tramontina Professional 14-inch Ceramic is the pan most kitchens should start with, the Rachael Ray Cucina is the easiest to lift full, and the Rachael Ray Create Delicious is the choice for induction. For smaller sizes, see our best nonstick pans guide; for stainless and cast iron, start with our best frying pan guide; and for heavy-duty restaurant options, our commercial frying pan guide.
