A four-burner grill is the size where the cooking starts to change. Two burners can sear or hold, and four can do both at once, with skirt steak over high heat, peppers and onions over medium, and tortillas warming on the far side. For a Mexican kitchen, that split is worth more than extra BTU.
We sorted through the four-burner grills sold on Amazon and kept the eight that have the burner count we could confirm, a maker we can identify and an honest case for being here. We dropped one popular budget grill because of owner reports of a leaking regulator.

Our picks for the best 4 burner gas grill
1. Weber Spirit E-425 Propane with Cover – A Real Sear Zone

This is the grill we would read about first. Weber’s Spirit E-425 puts four burners under porcelain-enameled cast iron grates and adds Boost Burners, which Weber says bring 40% more power to the sear zone. For the way we think about a grill, that layout is the point: high heat on one side for skirt steak, and a calmer side for chicken and onions.
This listing is the propane grill sold together with a Weber cover. It carries only a short description, so the details here come from Weber’s own listing for the same E-425, which was not in stock when we checked. That listing gives a cast-aluminum cookbox that resists rust and peeling, stainless Flavorizer bars that catch drippings and steer grease away from the burners, and Snap-Jet ignition that lights each burner one-handed.
The cover is useful on the Gulf Coast, where a grill spends most of its life outdoors in humid air. Weber does not publish a BTU figure in either listing, so don’t expect a number to compare with the Monument or Broil King below. The side rails take snap-on accessories, sold separately, and four tool hooks come with it.
Why we like it
- Four burners with Boost Burners in the sear zone
- Cast-aluminum cookbox that Weber says resists rust and peeling
- Cover included in this listing
- 10-year limited warranty
Key specifications
| Model | E-425 LP, with cover |

| Main burners | 4 |
| Side burner | None |
| Stated heat output | Not stated |
| Cooking area | Not stated |
| Grates | Porcelain-enameled cast iron |
| Ignition | Snap-Jet, each burner lit separately |
| Warranty | 10-year limited |
Why we recommend it
Buy it if you want one grill that sears hard and still holds a gentle zone, from a maker with long parts support.
Skip it if you want a side burner for beans or salsa, because the E-425 has none.
Pros and cons
Pros
- Sear zone with extra burner power
- Rust-resistant cookbox
- Cover in the box
- Lights one burner at a time
Cons
- No side burner
- BTU and cooking area not in the listing
- Bundle listing has few details
2. Weber Genesis S-415 Stainless Propane – Stainless Grates and Long Warranty

The Genesis S-415 is the step up from the Spirit. Its four PureBlu burners have a tapered shape that Weber says gives a consistent flame, with raised openings that let food debris fall away and reduce clogs and corrosion. Burners that stay clear are a bigger deal than most spec sheets admit, because a blocked port is where uneven heat starts.
The cooking grates are stainless steel, which Weber says heat quickly and hold up well. They are a different tool from cast iron: stainless needs less care on the rust front, while cast iron holds a stronger sear once it is hot. Flavorizer bars sit under them to vaporize juices and move grease away from the burners, and a pull-out tray collects the rest.
It is a big grill, listed at 64.5 inches wide, so measure your patio first. The grates also accept Weber Crafted accessories, sold separately, with a frame kit, including a griddle that would suit fajita vegetables. The warranty runs 12 years, the longest on this page after Broil King’s and Blaze’s. The listing does not give a BTU figure or the cooking area.
Why we like it
- Tapered PureBlu burners built to resist clogging
- Stainless cooking grates
- Takes Weber Crafted griddle and sear grate
- 12-year limited warranty
Key specifications
| Model | 1500539 |

Why we recommend it
Buy it if you grill year-round and want stainless grates that ask for less rust care than cast iron.
Skip it if your patio is tight. At a listed 64.5 inches wide, it needs real room.
Pros and cons
Pros
- Burner design resists clogs and corrosion
- Pull-out grease tray
- Large side tables
- Accepts griddle and sear inserts, sold separately
Cons
- No side burner
- BTU and area not in the listing
- Needs a wide patio
3. Monument Mesa 415BZ with Cover – Most Praised by Reviewers

If you came here for a 4 burner gas grill for the money, start with this one. It has the strongest independent record on the page. Smoked BBQ Source compared it with four other grills in its class and it came out on top, reporting about 630°F at the sear burner in 10 minutes and a burnt-toast check that showed even heat, with only a slightly cooler back-right corner. That corner makes a good holding zone. Bob Vila’s reviewer also called the heat output impressive.
Monument gives it four primary burners and a side burner, 62,000 BTU between them, and a 630-square-inch total area: 450 for cooking and 180 on the warming rack. The lid has a viewing window, and knob lights show which burners are on. The tank hides behind stainless doors, and locking casters make the grill easy to move on a smooth patio, though Smoked BBQ Source says they won’t roll as easily on gravel.
Plan an afternoon for assembly. Bob Vila’s reviewer called it the only real gripe and said it took a few hours; two experienced assemblers at Smoked BBQ Source needed about an hour and a half. This is the same Mesa 415BZ that appears on our main guide, in a different listing. We include it because this one adds a BBQ cover, and because the review record is too good to leave off a page about four-burner grills. The cover ships separately and may arrive on another day.
Why we like it
- Ranked first of five in Smoked BBQ Source’s comparison
- Sear burner at about 630°F in 10 minutes, per that review
- Side burner for salsa, beans or tortillas
- Cover included in this listing
Key specifications
| Model | Mesa415BZ (M415BZ) with cover |
|---|---|
| Main burners | 4 |
| Side burner | Yes |
| Stated heat output | 62,000 BTU including side burner |
| Cooking area | 630 sq in (450 + 180 warming) |
| Grates | Porcelain-enameled cast iron |
| Ignition | Electronic, per Bob Vila |
| Warranty | 2 years grill, 8 years burners, 1 year electrical |
Why we recommend it
Buy it if you want the most grill for your money and a side burner, and you accept a shorter warranty on the body than Weber’s.
Skip it if you want to avoid a long assembly, or your yard is gravel.
Pros and cons
Pros
- Strong independent reviews
- Side burner included
- Viewing window in the lid
- Tank hidden behind doors
Cons
- Assembly takes real time
- Plastic casters struggle on gravel
- Glass lid gets dirty quickly, per Smoked BBQ Source
4. Broil King Regal S 420 Pro Propane – Full Stainless, Long Warranty

Broil King builds this grill around a heavy cookbox, stainless steel with cast aluminum end caps that the maker says hold heat. The four stainless Dual-Tube burners deliver 50,000 BTU over a 500-square-inch primary area, with a 195-square-inch warming rack above it for a 695-square-inch total. That is the largest published cooking area on this page.
The stainless V-grids are the interesting part. They are reversible: the pointed side gives sharper sear marks and the V-channel side holds juices so they baste the food. For carne asada we would run the pointed side, and flip to the channels for a whole butterflied chicken. Under them, a full stainless Flav-R-Wave system spreads heat and vaporizes drippings.
Our search found retailer buyer comments rather than an expert review of this model. Buyers on those pages mention even heat and good temperature control, and one calls it a great grill but not durable. Retailer pages also note that the side shelves are fixed and do not fold. The listing states a limited lifetime warranty on the cookbox and a 15-year top-to-bottom warranty, and other retailers list different terms, so confirm the coverage before you buy.
Why we like it
- 50,000 BTU over a 500-square-inch primary area
- Reversible stainless V-grids
- Stainless cabinet with LED control knob lights
- Long warranty terms in the listing
Key specifications
| Model | 956314 |

| Grates | Reversible stainless V-grids |
| Ignition | Not stated |
| Warranty | Limited lifetime on cookbox; 15-year top-to-bottom, per listing |
Why we recommend it
Buy it if you would rather pay once for a stainless grill with a long warranty and published numbers.
Skip it if you need fold-down shelves for a tight space, since retailers list them as fixed.
Pros and cons
Pros
- Largest published cooking area here
- Stainless cabinet and shelves
- Reversible grates
- Generous warranty as listed
Cons
- Shelves do not fold, per retailers
- No side burner
- Warranty terms differ between sellers
5. Blaze Prelude LBM 32-Inch Propane – Commercial-Style Steel

Blaze builds this one like a small commercial grill. It is 304 stainless steel, with four 16-gauge stainless tube burners rated at 14,000 BTU each, which comes to 56,000 BTU by our arithmetic. The Blaze natural gas listing for the same 32-inch model states that total. The cooking grates are heavy 8mm stainless rods, and the push-and-turn ignition uses a flame-thrower design.
Check one thing before ordering. The Prelude LBM is usually a built-in grill head, and this listing’s model field pairs the head with a cart (BLZ-4LBM-LP plus BLZ-4-CART-SC), though its title and description never mention a cart. Confirm what ships with the seller if you need it to stand on its own. If you are building an outdoor kitchen, the natural gas listing gives a cutout of about 30 5/8 by 21 1/4 inches.
The natural gas listing also mentions removable heat zone separators, which split the grill into temperature zones, and stainless flame stabilizing grids that reduce flare-ups. That is the same two-zone idea we like for fajita night. BBQGuys rates the build of the four-burner freestanding version near the top of its premium class, but bear in mind that it sells the grill. There is no side burner.
Why we like it
- 304 stainless steel build
- Four 14,000 BTU tube burners
- 8mm stainless rod grates
- Lifetime residential warranty, per the listing
Key specifications
| Model | BLZ-4LBM-LP + BLZ-4-CART-SC |
|---|---|
| Main burners | 4 |
| Side burner | None |
| Stated heat output | 56,000 BTU (14,000 each) |
| Cooking area | Not stated |
| Grates | 8mm stainless steel rods |
| Ignition | Push and turn flame-thrower |
| Warranty | Lifetime residential; 3-year multi-user commercial |
Why we recommend it
Buy it if you want the heaviest-duty grill on this page and you are willing to confirm the cart before ordering.
Skip it if you want features such as a side burner or lid window, or you need clear listing details before you buy.
Pros and cons
Pros
- All 304 stainless construction
- Heavy rod grates
- Lifetime residential warranty
Cons
- Listing does not plainly say a cart is included
- Cooking area not in the listing
- Few conveniences
6. Monument Mesa 420MF Matte Black – A Shelf That Folds Away

This is a lighter option from Monument, with four independently controlled burners making 36,000 BTU in total, well below the Mesa 415BZ. The cooking area is 570 square inches, with 405 on the main rack and 165 on the warming rack, and the listing says it fits 20 burgers. It has no side burner, unlike the Mesa 415BZ, and Monument says it reaches 500°F in about 10 minutes.
The appeal is the shape. There are two side shelves with tool hooks, and the right one folds down into a storage basket so the grill takes up less room against a wall. The burners differ left to right too: a dual-conical design on the left and a cylindrical burner on the right that Monument says runs hotter. That gives you a natural hot side and a cooler side.
The cooking grates are enameled cast iron, and the glass in the lid is rated to 750°F. This pick rests on the listing and maker details. We did not read an independent review of this model, so treat it as a sensible layout rather than a proven performer.
Why we like it
- Right shelf folds into a storage basket
- Four burners with independent knobs
- Viewing window in the lid
- 8-year limited warranty on the burners
Key specifications
| Model | Mesa420MF (M420MF) |
|---|---|
| Main burners | 4 |
| Side burner | None |
| Stated heat output | 36,000 BTU |
| Cooking area | 570 sq in (405 + 165 warming) |
| Grates | Enameled cast iron |
| Ignition | Electronic |
| Warranty | 2 years grill, 8 years burners, 1 year electrical |
Why we recommend it
Buy it if you are short on patio space but still want four burners and enough room for 20 burgers.
Skip it if you sear often. Its 36,000 BTU is the lowest figure on this page.
Pros and cons
Pros
- Folds narrower for storage
- Grease tray and thermometer built in
- Hot side and gentle side
Cons
- Lowest stated BTU here
- No side burner
- Rests on listing details only
7. Kenmore 4-Burner Stainless with Side Burner – Side Burner on a Simple Cart

Kenmore’s open-cart grill is a simple layout: four burners, a side burner, cast iron cooking grates, a warming rack and electronic ignition, with a stated 53,000 BTU. The silver version has a stainless finish in the title. The open cart leaves the tank in plain view, so it suits a yard where looks matter less than the cooking.
The side burner is the reason to pick it. It lets you warm a pot of beans or finish a salsa without running to the kitchen, which matters when the grill is across the yard. Cast iron grates also bring the heat retention you want for a good crust on steak. Season them and keep them oiled, because cast iron rusts quickly in humid weather.
The listing is short, and we found no in-depth review of this model. A Tractor Supply buyer of a Kenmore 4-burner with a stainless lid called it a bit flimsy and said the bottom tray arrived bent, so inspect it when it arrives. The warranty is one year, the shortest stated term here. Our main guide covers more options if a longer warranty matters more to you.
Why we like it
- Side burner included
- Cast iron cooking grates
- Electronic ignition
- Warming rack
Key specifications
| Model | PG-40406S0L-SE |
|---|---|
| Main burners | 4 |
| Side burner | Yes |
| Stated heat output | 53,000 BTU including side burner |
| Cooking area | Not stated |
| Grates | Cast iron |
| Ignition | Electronic |
| Warranty | 1-year limited |
Why we recommend it
Buy it if you want four burners and a side burner in a simple cart, and you are comfortable with a basic build.
Skip it if you want a closed cabinet to hide the tank, or more than a year of warranty.
Pros and cons
Pros
- Side burner for pots
- Cast iron grates
- Simple open cart
Cons
- One buyer called it flimsy
- Short listing with few details
- 1-year warranty
8. Master Cook 4-Burner Cabinet with Side Burner – A Cabinet and a Lidded Side Burner

Master Cook’s cabinet grill has 40,000 BTU across four burners, plus a 12,000 BTU side burner with its own lid. The total area is 518 square inches: 400 primary and a 118-square-inch porcelain-coated warming rack that swings away. Master Cook says that fits up to 25 burgers. The lid and control panel are stainless, and a thermometer sits in the lid.
A closed cabinet is what sets it apart from the Kenmore. The tank stays out of sight, and four casters let you roll it out of the way. Ignition is piezo, the push-and-turn kind that needs no battery.
Keep expectations in line with the entry tier. Our search found no expert review, no flare-up or leak reports for this model, and only short retail comments. One review site notes the grill loses heat faster in the wind and takes around 90 minutes to assemble, but its own test claims were inconsistent, so we give it little weight. The listing states neither the cooking grate material nor a warranty term, so ask the seller before buying if either matters to you.
Why we like it
- Closed cabinet hides the tank
- Lidded 12,000 BTU side burner
- 518 square inches in total
- Stainless lid and control panel
Key specifications
| Model | SRGG41128 |
|---|---|
| Main burners | 4 |
| Side burner | Yes, lidded |
| Stated heat output | 52,000 BTU (40,000 + 12,000 side) |
| Cooking area | 518 sq in (400 + 118 warming) |
| Grates | Not stated |
| Ignition | Piezo |
| Warranty | Not stated |
Why we recommend it
Buy it if you want a tidy cabinet and a side burner, and you value those over a long warranty and a proven reviewer record.
Skip it if warranty terms matter to you. The listing gives none.
Pros and cons
Pros
- Cabinet storage
- Stated up to 25 burgers
- No battery needed to light
Cons
- Grate material and warranty not stated
- Thin review record
- Entry-tier build

How to choose a four-burner grill
Count the burners under the grates
Listings count burners in different ways. A title may say 4 burners when the fourth is a side burner or a separate sear burner. We kept grills with four burners in the cookbox and left out models described as three main burners plus a sear burner. Read the feature list, not only the title.
Compare heat by area, not BTU alone
BTU is the heat a grill can burn through in an hour, and it says little by itself. A big number spread across a big grate may not sear better than a smaller number over less area. Check whether the total includes the side burner too, as it does on the Monument 415BZ and the Kenmore. Weber leaves BTU out of these listings entirely, so judge those by the sear zone instead.
Grates change how you cook
Cast iron holds heat for a deep crust, but it needs oil and care to stop rust. Stainless steel grates shrug off rust better and heat quickly. Porcelain-enameled cast iron sits in between, and it is easy to clean as long as you don’t chip it. See our guide to gas grill grates if you want to compare replacements.
Decide on the side burner
A side burner lets you heat beans, simmer salsa or warm a comal away from the kitchen. If you want one, the Monument 415BZ, Kenmore and Master Cook have it. Our guide to grills with a side burner goes further. If you never cook in a pot outdoors, skip it and spend on a better grill body.
Measure before you buy
Four-burner grills are wide. The Weber Genesis S-415 is listed at 64.5 inches across. Leave room for the lid to open, and keep the grill well away from siding, deck railings and overhangs, as the U.S. Fire Administration advises. If space is tight, our small patio guide is a better fit.
Judge value by warranty and parts
A low asking price can cost more over time if the burners rust out in three seasons. Look at how long the burners and cookbox are covered, and whether parts are easy to find. Weber, Broil King and Blaze list the longest terms here. Monument splits its coverage: 2 years on the grill and 8 on the burners.

How we picked these eight grills
We have not used these products ourselves. We started from Amazon listing data, checked each pick was in stock and confirmed four burners in the cookbox from the listing or the maker’s own listing for the same model. We then looked for independent reviews. We read Smoked BBQ Source and Bob Vila on the Monument Mesa 415BZ, and we say where a pick rests only on its listing or on retailer comments.
We also checked the Consumer Product Safety Commission’s recall database for each brand and found no recall of these models. We left out grills with an unresolved safety report rather than listing them with a warning. One popular budget grill went for that reason, after a review summary mentioned a few owners with a leaking regulator. We also left out any grill sold only in limited stock, which removed several Napoleon, Broil King and Charbroil models.
4 burner grill questions, answered
What is the best 4 burner gas grill for the money?
The Monument Mesa 415BZ with Cover, based on the reviews we read. It adds a side burner and a viewing lid, and it came first in Smoked BBQ Source’s comparison of five grills. Its trade-off is a shorter warranty on the grill body than the Webers.
Is a 4 burner gas grill big enough for a family?
Yes, for most families and for a backyard party. The grills here with published figures range from 400 to 500 square inches of primary area, and Master Cook says its 400-square-inch grate fits 25 burgers. If you regularly feed a crowd, see our guide to large gas grills.
Do 4 burners use more propane than 3?
They can, when every burner is on high. In practice you don’t always need all four. Light only the burners under the food, and let the others stay off for a cool zone. That habit matters more than the burner count.
How do I check a new grill for gas leaks?
Brush a soapy water solution on the hose and connections with the gas on and the burners off. Bubbles mean a leak. The CPSC says to tighten the connection, and if the leak persists, close the valve and have a qualified professional repair it. Do this before first use and at the start of each season.
Can a propane grill run on natural gas?
Not unless the maker sells a conversion for that model, and even then have a professional do it. The grills here are sold as propane models. If your home has a gas line, read our guide to natural gas grills first.

Our final pick for four-burner cooking
Buy the Weber Spirit E-425 with Cover if you want one grill that does most things well, and the Monument Mesa 415BZ with Cover if value and a side burner come first. The Weber Genesis S-415 and Broil King Regal S 420 Pro suit cooks who want more stainless and longer terms, and the Blaze suits those who want a heavy build. The Monument Mesa 420MF, Kenmore and Master Cook are the plainer options, each with a clear reason to choose it.
For the full field of sizes, see our main guide to the best gas grill, and keep the grates clean with a gas grill brush. When the grill is on, our guide on how to eat fajitas is good reading. Or skip the cooking, see the menu and call to order.
