Grillers are easy to spot and hard to shop for. The gift aisle fills up every December with novelty aprons, giant forks and boxes of 30 stainless tools, and most of it goes straight to the garage. A griller who cooks every week usually wants one thing: fewer bad guesses and fewer trips back to the kitchen.
So we looked at what helps with that: temperature tools from ThermoWorks and MEATER, plain tools from Weber, useful helpers from Cuisinart, and seasonings from Traeger and Burlap & Barrel. Eight gifts from small to splurge, and no wire brushes. If you are after tools alone, start with our best grill tools guide.

Quick verdict: the best gifts for grillers this year
For almost anyone who grills, buy the ThermoWorks Thermapen ONE: one-second readings with a stated accuracy of 0.5°F, per the maker. For a big gift aimed at long cooks, choose the MEATER Plus wireless probe. For a small gift that makes cookouts run better, choose the Cuisinart Prep and Serve Tray Set.
The other five cover basic tongs and spatula, a grill basket for small food, two seasoning gifts and a big charcoal starter.

Our picks for the best gifts for grillers
Tiers are small, mid and splurge. Claims about speed and range are each maker’s own.

1. ThermoWorks Thermapen ONE Instant-Read Thermometer – One Number in One Second

Ask someone who grills what ruins a good steak, and the answer is usually guessing. An instant-read thermometer removes the guess, and ThermoWorks is the name that serious grill people recognize. The Thermapen ONE gives a reading in one second, per ThermoWorks, with a stated accuracy of 0.5°F and a NIST-traceable calibration certificate.
It has a 4.33-inch folding probe, a range of -58 to 572°F, and a display that rotates a full 360 degrees for either hand. It is rated IP67 waterproof, and ThermoWorks lists NSF certification. Batteries are included, and the warranty is five years.
This is a same-model reuse. The Thermapen ONE appears in other colors on our thermometer pages, and we repeat it because a griller’s gift list without it would be missing the obvious winner. It is a spot-check tool, not a leave-in probe, so you still open the lid to use it. That is why we also list the MEATER below.
Why we like it
- One-second readings, per ThermoWorks
- Stated accuracy of 0.5°F with a certificate
- IP67 waterproof
- Display rotates for either hand

| Model | THS-AMN5-407 |

| Material | Plastic body, folding steel probe |
| Size | 4.33-in. probe |
| Certification or rating | NSF; IP67 |

Why we recommend it
It is for anyone who grills regularly, from the burger guy to the brisket obsessive, because every cook benefits from knowing the number.
Skip it if they already own one, or they want to watch a long cook from indoors.
Pros and cons
Pros
- Fast and easy
- Long warranty
- Useful in the kitchen too
Cons
- Not a leave-in probe
- Same model on our other pages
- Larger gift than most small tools
2. MEATER Plus Wireless Meat Thermometer, Walnut – No Wires on the Grate

The MEATER Plus goes into the meat and stays there, with no wire to pinch in the lid. It has dual sensors that track internal temperature up to 212°F and ambient temperature up to 527°F, and it talks to an app through a charger that works as a Bluetooth repeater. The maker claims a range of 165 feet, and a 5-minute charge is said to give 2 hours of cooking.
The app’s guided cook system gives step-by-step instructions, alerts and estimated finish times. That is a real help for a turkey or a thick roast, when you would otherwise keep lifting the lid. MEATER says the probe is dishwasher safe. The walnut block looks like a gift even before it is wrapped.
This is our second same-model reuse here, as other MEATER Plus listings appear on our wireless thermometer pages. It needs a phone and app, which some people find tiresome. Bluetooth range also depends on walls and the grill itself, so do not count on the stated figure indoors.
Why we like it
- No wires in the lid
- Tracks meat and ambient temperature
- Guided cooks in the app
- Walnut charger looks like a gift
Key specifications
| Model | OSC-MT-MP01W |
|---|---|
| Gift tier | Splurge |
| What it is | Wireless leave-in thermometer |
| Material | Steel probe, walnut charger |
| Size | 165-ft stated range |
| Certification or rating | Up to 212°F internal, 527°F ambient |
| Care | Dishwasher-safe probe, per MEATER |
| Warranty | Not stated |
Why we recommend it
Choose it for someone who smokes or roasts big cuts and loves a gadget.
Skip it if they dislike apps or cook mainly thin steaks and burgers, where the probe is awkward.
Pros and cons
Pros
- Great for long cooks
- No lid pinch
- Good presentation
Cons
- Needs phone and app
- Range varies in real life
- Thin cuts do not suit it
3. Weber Deluxe Stainless Steel Tool Set, 2-Piece – Just the Two That Matter

Most grilling tool sets come with a fork that punctures meat and a brush you may not want. Weber’s Deluxe set skips all of that and gives you a stainless spatula and hands-free locking tongs. Those are the two tools a griller reaches for most.
The grip is a soft-touch ergonomic handle, and the tongs lock for storage. Weber gives a 2-year limited warranty. The listing does not give the length, and length matters over a hot grate, so have a look at the product photos before buying.
There is no brush in this set, which is a plus. Wire grill brushes have been the subject of recent CPSC recalls from several makers, and this page does not include any. If you want a whole kit in one box, our grill tools guide has larger sets.
Why we like it
- Two tools most grillers use
- Hands-free locking tongs
- No fork or brush filler
- 2-year limited warranty
Key specifications
| Model | 10611 |
|---|---|
| Gift tier | Small |
| What it is | Spatula and locking tongs |
| Material | Stainless steel, soft-touch grip |
| Size | Length not stated |
| Certification or rating | Not applicable |
| Care | Not stated |
| Warranty | 2-year limited |
Why we recommend it
It suits a new griller, or someone who has been using kitchen tongs that are too short and too hot to hold.
Skip it if they want a big set in a case, or tools rated for very long reach.
Pros and cons
Pros
- No filler pieces
- Known maker
- Simple to store
Cons
- Length not stated
- Only two tools
- Not much of a showpiece gift
4. Cuisinart Grilling Prep and Serve Tray Set, 2-Piece – Red for Raw, Black for Done

This is the gift that sounds dull and then gets used at every cookout. The idea is simple: raw meat goes out on the red tray, and cooked meat comes back on the black one, so nobody has to carry cooked burgers on the plate that held raw patties. Cuisinart makes that the whole point of the set.
Each tray measures 17 by 10.5 inches and holds about six burgers, per Cuisinart. They are shatter-resistant, BPA-free melamine, they nest together, and they are dishwasher safe. The warranty is a one-year limited one.
Melamine is for carrying and serving, not for the hot grate or the microwave, so keep it off the fire. Two trays are also not many if you are feeding a crowd. Still, for a small gift it is hard to beat something that makes a backyard cookout run better.
Why we like it
- Color coding separates raw from cooked
- 17 x 10.5 inches holds a full load
- Dishwasher safe
- Trays nest for storage
Key specifications
| Model | CPK-200 |
|---|---|
| Gift tier | Small |
| What it is | Two color-coded serving trays |
| Material | BPA-free melamine |
| Size | 17 x 10.5 in. |
| Certification or rating | Not applicable |
| Care | Dishwasher safe |
| Warranty | 1-year limited |
Why we recommend it
This is a good small present for the family griller who is always hunting for a clean platter at the wrong moment.
Skip it if they mostly grill for one or two, since two big trays may be more than they need.
Pros and cons
Pros
- Clear food handling habit
- Sturdy, per the maker
- Easy cleanup
Cons
- Not for the grill or microwave
- Takes cabinet space
- Plain looking

5. Cuisinart Marinade and Grilling Basket Set – From Fridge to Grate

Small things are the griller’s headache: shrimp, chopped peppers and onions that fall through the grate. Cuisinart’s CMT-200 pairs a perforated stainless basket with a BPA-free marinating tray and a leak-proof snap lid. You marinate in the tray, lift out the basket, and put it on the grill.
The set measures 14 by 8.56 by 2.62 inches, and the tray has two handles for carrying. In a Mexican kitchen, this is the kind of thing you use for fajita vegetables and marinated shrimp, or for rajas that would otherwise be lost to the coals.
Only the basket goes on the grill; the listing makes clear the plastic tray is for marinating, and you should keep it away from the heat. Our grill basket guide has other styles. It is the Cuisinart name on the box, but this is not one of the grill brushes that Conair recalled in 2026.
Why we like it
- Marinade and grill in one item
- Perforated steel keeps small food up
- Leak-proof snap lid
- Handles for carrying
Key specifications
| Model | CMT-200 |
|---|---|
| Gift tier | Small to mid |
| What it is | Marinating tray and grill basket |
| Material | Stainless steel basket, BPA-free tray |
| Size | 14 x 8.56 x 2.62 in. |
| Certification or rating | Not applicable |
| Care | Not stated |
| Warranty | Not stated |
Why we recommend it
It suits someone who cooks vegetables or shrimp on the grill and has a stuffed fridge to prove it.
Skip it if they grill only large cuts, or have a basket already.
Pros and cons
Pros
- Saves a bowl and a bag
- Stops small food falling
- Compact
Cons
- Tray must stay off the heat
- Care not stated
- One size only
6. Burlap & Barrel BBQ Rub and Seasoning Gift Set – Five Jars for the Grill

A griller can always use something new on the meat. Burlap & Barrel’s box has five single-origin spices: Sun-Dried Tomato Powder, Wild Mountain Cumin, Purple Shallot Powder, Ground Black Lime and Zanzibar Black Peppercorns in a grinder-top jar.
These are ingredients, not a finished rub, and that is the appeal. Cumin and black lime together are a natural fit with grilled pork or chicken, and peppercorns are always welcome on a steak. The listing describes them as non-GMO and non-irradiated, with no additives, anti-caking agents, colorings or fillers.
If the person wants a shake-and-go rub, this is not it. Each jar is small, at 2.22 ounces per the listing’s figure. The listing has no allergen statement, so check labels if allergies are a concern. You will also find a different Burlap & Barrel box on our gifts for cooks page, and that one holds other spices.
Why we like it
- Five distinct spices in a gift box
- Grinder-top jar for the peppercorns
- Listing states no fillers
- Cumin suits Mexican-style grilling
Key specifications
| Model | Not stated |
|---|---|
| Gift tier | Small to mid |
| What it is | Five single-origin spices |
| Material | Spices in glass jars |
| Size | 2.22 oz, pack of 5 |
| Certification or rating | Not applicable |
| Care | Not stated |
| Warranty | Not stated |
Why we recommend it
Choose it for the griller who likes making their own rub and enjoys trying new flavors.
Skip it if they want a ready-made rub to shake on.
Pros and cons
Pros
- Good variety
- Comes ready to give
- Gets used up
Cons
- Not a finished rub
- Small jars
- Allergens not stated on listing
7. Traeger Brine and Rub Kit, 13 Ounces – A Turkey Plan in One Bag

Traeger’s kit has a packet of brine mix and a packet of rub, and the maker pitches it squarely at the Thanksgiving turkey. Traeger describes notes of citrus, garlic and spices, and the listing calls it kosher, GMO-free and gluten-free. Because it comes in a bag, it is a small gift that takes up almost no room.
You do not need a Traeger to use it. Brine and rub work on any grill or smoker, or in an oven. That makes this a good small gift during a season when many people are about to cook a large bird and are wondering how.
The listing does not give the full ingredients or a yield, so check the packet for how big a bird it handles and for any allergens. One bag is one or two cooks, and it is gone. It is a single-use sort of gift, so it pairs well with a thermometer.
Why we like it
- Brine and rub in one bag
- Listing says gluten-free and kosher
- Suits the holiday turkey
- Works beyond Traeger grills
Key specifications
| Model | SPC206 |
|---|---|
| Gift tier | Small |
| What it is | Brine mix and rub |
| Material | Seasoning packets |
| Size | 13 oz |
| Certification or rating | Not applicable |
| Care | Not stated |
| Warranty | Not stated |
Why we recommend it
It is a fine small present for whoever is cooking the bird this year, particularly someone new to the job.
Skip it if they brine from their own recipe or do not eat poultry.
Pros and cons
Pros
- Takes out the guesswork
- Small and easy to give
- Works on any cooker
Cons
- Ingredients not spelled out on listing
- Used once or twice
- Seasonal in appeal
8. Oklahoma Joe’s Halftime XL Charcoal Starter – A Bigger Chimney for Bigger Fires

Lighter fluid has no place on a good grill, and a chimney starter is the way out. Oklahoma Joe’s Halftime XL holds up to 100 briquettes, per the listing, and it says the design gets coals ready in half the time of a standard chimney. It has heavy-duty stainless steel construction, and the listing says the handle design stays cool in use.
The size is the thing to check. It measures 12 by 15.4 by 7.8 inches, which is wider and lower than a traditional tall chimney. It suits a large kettle or a smoker’s firebox. A small tabletop grill does not need 100 briquettes.
Treat a lit chimney with respect, whatever the handle claims. Use heat-resistant gloves, set it on a non-flammable surface, and keep it away from children and pets. The listing gives no warranty or care details, and we have seen no independent timing, so the half-time figure is the maker’s.
Why we like it
- Holds up to 100 briquettes
- Stainless steel construction
- Maker says it is ready in half the time
- Avoids lighter fluid
Key specifications
| Model | 9848125R04 |
|---|---|
| Gift tier | Mid |
| What it is | Charcoal chimney starter |
| Material | Stainless steel |
| Size | 12 x 15.4 x 7.8 in. |
| Certification or rating | None stated |
| Care | Not stated |
| Warranty | Not stated |
Why we recommend it
It suits a charcoal cook who still has a small, rusty chimney, or someone who is using lighter fluid and should stop.
Skip it if they cook on gas, or on a very small charcoal grill.
Pros and cons
Pros
- Big capacity
- Faster lighting, per the maker
- Sturdy material
Cons
- Bulky to store
- Too large for small grills
- No warranty stated
How to choose grill lover gift ideas
Find out what they cook on
Gas, charcoal and pellet cooks have different needs. A chimney starter is pointless for someone with a gas grill, and a Traeger owner may already be well stocked with Traeger items. Have a look at the patio before you buy.
Buy for accuracy before accessories
A thermometer improves every cook, while most accessories only improve some. If the person does not own a good one, that is your answer. Our best grill thermometer guide goes deeper.

Skip the 30-piece boxes
Large sets often pad the count with skewers and small items. A griller will use the tongs and spatula and forget the rest. Two good tools are a better present than 30 weak ones.
Be careful with grill brushes
CPSC has posted 2026 recalls of wire grill brushes, including Nexgrill and Conair’s Cuisinart lines, citing an ingestion hazard. We left brushes off this page altogether. If you do want to give a cleaning tool, check the recall list on cpsc.gov first.
Remember the cook’s other jobs
Food handling, marinating and carrying often give a griller more trouble than the fire. A color-coded tray or a marinade basket helps with those, and it is less likely to duplicate something they already own.
How we picked these eight grilling gifts
We looked for named makers, in-stock listings and things a griller is likely to use all season. We left out novelty items and sets built around piece counts, and we did not include gas grills or other gas appliances. We also left out anything on our other gift pages, and we avoided heat gloves because few listings state a safety standard.
Specifications come from the Amazon listings. We have not used these products, and the speed, accuracy and range figures come from each maker. A search for independent reviews of the Thermapen ONE and MEATER Plus turned up mostly blogs and retailer pages, and we could not read the one major review we wanted in full, so we do not cite any review here. Two picks are same-model reuses, the Thermapen ONE and MEATER Plus, each with its reason stated. We checked the CPSC recall database by brand. The Cuisinart and Conair grill brush recalls do not cover these Cuisinart items, and we found no recall of the other items.
Grilling gift questions, answered
What should I buy someone who loves to grill?
A good instant-read thermometer, if they do not have one. It helps every cook. If they do, look at a wireless probe for long cooks or a grill basket for small food.
Is a wireless thermometer better than an instant-read?
They do different jobs. An instant-read gives a quick spot check when you open the lid, and a leave-in probe watches a long cook while the lid stays closed. Keen smokers often want both.
Do these work with gas grills?
The thermometers, tools, trays, basket and seasonings all work with gas. Only the chimney starter is for charcoal alone.
Are grill brushes a safe gift?
We left them out. CPSC has listed 2026 recalls of wire grill brushes, including Nexgrill and Cuisinart models. Check the recall list on cpsc.gov for any model you are considering.
What about grilling books?
A good book is a fine present. Our best grill cookbook guide covers named authors, and we did not repeat those titles here.
Our final pick for the grill lover
Buy the Thermapen ONE if they do not own one. If they do, the Cuisinart trays or the Weber tongs make a smaller and useful present. If they like Mexican flavors over the fire, send them to our guide to how to eat fajitas, or look at our best apron for grilling and best grill basket picks for more gift ideas.
