A rib rack does one simple thing: it stands slabs on edge so more of them fit on the grate and smoke can reach both sides. On a kettle that holds a slab or two lying flat, a rack can be the difference between feeding a couple and feeding a table.
What goes wrong is usually fit, not cooking. A rack that won’t clear the lid or sit on a round grate is no use, and many listings say very little about size. So we favored racks whose makers state a fit, and we tell you plainly where a listing doesn’t.

Quick verdict: which rib rack to buy
The Weber Rib Rack is the one to buy for most grills, because Weber says exactly what it fits: Q 200/2000 and larger gas grills and charcoal grills of 18 inches and up. Choose the SnS Grills Rib ‘N Roast if you want 304 stainless steel and a rack that flips for a roast. Kamado owners should look at the Mydracas rack, and Ninja OG800 or OG900 owners should buy Ninja’s own.

Our picks for the best rib rack
1. Weber Rib Rack – Clear Fit for Most Grills

This is the plain choice from the grill maker many people already own. Weber says it is heavy-duty plated steel, holds up to five racks of ribs, and fits Q 200/2000 and larger gas grills plus charcoal grills of 18 inches and up. That fit statement is the reason it leads this page: few rib racks spell out their grill sizes this clearly, and a rack that does not fit under the lid is the easiest way to waste the purchase.
Five racks is the maker’s maximum, and the real number depends on how big your slabs are. Baby backs stand easily; a big spare rib slab may need trimming to St. Louis style, or fewer slabs in the slots. Weber lists it as dishwasher safe. Plating is a surface layer over steel, so we would dry it after washing rather than leave it wet.
Why we like it
- Weber states the grills it fits, gas and charcoal
- Holds up to five racks, per the maker
- Dishwasher safe, per the maker and listing

Why we recommend it
Anyone with a kettle or a mid-size gas grill who wants one simple rack from a maker with a clear fit statement.
Skip it if you want stainless steel, or you need one piece to do ribs and a roast. The Weber holder and SnS rack below do both.
Pros and cons
Pros
- Clearest fit statement on this page
- Five-rack capacity
- Goes in the dishwasher
Cons
- Plated, not stainless
- No second use stated
- Weight is not stated
2. SnS Grills Rib ‘N Roast Reversible Rack – Stainless With Two Jobs

SnS Grills makes this rack from 304 stainless steel and designs it to flip. One side holds up to five racks of ribs upright; turn it over and the other side takes a roast or a whole chicken. For a cook who wants only one piece of hardware on the shelf, that reversible shape does more than a single-purpose rack.
The listing pitches stainless for high heat and corrosion resistance, which suits a piece that sits in smoke and fat for hours and then gets scrubbed. It does not state a size, a grill fit or dishwasher advice in the listing text we read, so measure your grate and check the box before assuming it clears your lid.
Why we like it
- 304 stainless steel, per the listing
- Reversible for ribs, or for a roast or chicken
- Up to five racks of ribs
Key specifications
| Model | Rib ‘N Roast |
|---|---|
| Material | 304 stainless steel |
| Capacity stated | Up to 5 racks |
| Stated fit | Not stated |
| Dishwasher | Not stated |
| Other use | Roasts and whole chickens |
| Made in | Designed in the USA; made in not stated |
| Weight | Not stated |
Why we recommend it
The cook who smokes often and wants stainless steel plus a second use for holiday roasts.
Skip it if you need a stated fit before you buy. The listing gives none, and the Weber rack does.
Pros and cons
Pros
- Grade of stainless is named
- Reversible design
- Sold by the maker’s own storefront
Cons
- No stated grill fit
- No dishwasher statement in the listing
- “USA-designed” does not say where it is made

3. Weber Original Rib & Roast Holder – Flips for a Roast

A second Weber, and a different tool from the rack above. This one is a two-in-one holder for ribs or a roast. The listing calls it plated steel, dishwasher safe and easy to store, and says it fits most grills. It gives no rack count, which matters if you are cooking for a crowd, so we see it as a piece for family-size cooks.
We put it here for people who roast as often as they cook ribs. Because “fits most grills” is not a measurement, compare the holder against your grate and lid height when it arrives. The rack count and the dimensions are not in the listing text we read, so we will not guess at them.
Why we like it
- Two-in-one design for ribs and roasts
- Plated steel from an established grill maker
- Dishwasher safe and easy to store, per the listing
Key specifications
| Model | Original Rib & Roast Holder |
|---|---|
| Material | Plated steel |
| Capacity stated | Not stated |
| Stated fit | “Fits most grills” |
| Dishwasher | Yes |
| Other use | Roasts |
| Made in | Not stated |
| Weight | Not stated |
Why we recommend it
Someone who wants a Weber holder that also handles a Sunday roast, and who rarely cooks for a crowd.
Skip it if you need to know the exact rack count first. The listing does not give it.
Pros and cons
Pros
- Does ribs and roasts
- Dishwasher safe
- Listing says it stores easily
Cons
- No rack count stated
- “Fits most grills” is vague
- Plated, not stainless
4. Camp Chef Rib and Drumstick Rack – Six Racks and Potatoes

Camp Chef’s rack is the one for a backyard crowd. The listing says it stands six racks of ribs on edge, and it adds a detail the others lack: built-in skewers that hold seven potatoes. It weighs 1.05 pounds by the listing and has side handles, which helps when lifting a loaded rack out of a hot cooker with gloves on.
The listing does not name the metal, the dimensions or the grills it fits, and six slabs will need a large cooking surface. We would look at it for a bigger pit rather than a small kettle. Check the space under your lid before you plan on the full six.
Why we like it
- Six-rack capacity, the highest from an established maker here
- Built-in potato skewers hold seven
- Side handles for lifting
Key specifications
| Model | RIBRK |
|---|---|
| Material | Not stated |
| Capacity stated | 6 racks |
| Stated fit | Not stated |
| Dishwasher | Not stated |
| Other use | Drumsticks and 7 potatoes |
| Made in | Not stated |
| Weight | 1.05 lb |
Why we recommend it
Whoever cooks for a big group on a large grill or smoker and wants the side dish on the same rack.
Skip it if you want the metal named or a stated fit, because this listing gives neither.
Pros and cons
Pros
- Six racks by the listing
- Handles for lifting
- Potatoes cook on the same piece
Cons
- Material not stated
- Fit not stated
- Cleaning advice not stated

5. Ninja Woodfire XL Rib Rack – Made for One Grill Line

This one is only for owners of the larger Ninja Woodfire grills. Ninja says it is built to fit exclusively the OG800 and OG900 series, and that it holds up to four full racks, which it describes as twice the room of the grill grate alone. On a compact grill where space runs out quickly, that is the whole reason to buy it.
Ninja asks for hand washing after every use, so this is not a dishwasher piece. Do not buy it for any other grill. If you have a different Ninja model, look for that model’s own accessory instead. The rack is listed as steel, and the grade is not stated.
Why we like it
- Made specifically for OG800 and OG900 series
- Four full racks, per the maker
- Lifts food off the grate for airflow, per the listing
Key specifications
| Model | Woodfire XL Rib Rack |
|---|---|
| Material | Steel |
| Capacity stated | Up to 4 racks |
| Stated fit | Ninja Woodfire OG800 and OG900 series only |
| Dishwasher | No, hand wash |
| Other use | Not stated |
| Made in | Not stated |
| Weight | Not stated |
Why we recommend it
An OG800 or OG900 owner who wants a known fit from the maker of the grill.
Skip it if you own anything else, because Ninja says it fits those two series only.
Pros and cons
Pros
- Exact fit named by the maker
- Doubles rib room, per Ninja
- Comes from the grill’s own maker
Cons
- Fits only two grill series
- Hand wash only
- Steel grade not stated
6. Amazon Basics Stainless Steel Rib Rack – Simple Stainless Entry

If you smoke ribs a couple of times a year, this is an uncomplicated way into stainless steel. The listing says it holds up to four full racks upright, works on a grill or in the oven, and is dishwasher compatible, with hand washing as the other option. It is the only rack here whose listing specifically mentions oven use along with the grill.
It is an Amazon house brand, so there is no grill maker behind the fit, and the listing does not state which grills it suits or the grade of stainless. Rib-rack roundups in our search often mention it, but those pages are affiliate lists with no documented method, so we are not leaning on them. It earns its spot on the listing facts alone.
Why we like it
- Stainless steel
- Four racks upright, per the listing
- Grill or oven use, and dishwasher compatible
Key specifications
| Model | Not stated |
|---|---|
| Material | Stainless steel |
| Capacity stated | Up to 4 racks |
| Stated fit | Outdoor grills; size not stated |
| Dishwasher | Yes |
| Other use | Oven use |
| Made in | Not stated |
| Weight | Not stated |
Why we recommend it
An occasional rib cook who wants stainless steel and easy cleanup without a brand-specific accessory.
Skip it if you want the fit stated by a grill maker. Weber spells that out and this does not.
Pros and cons
Pros
- Stainless steel
- Dishwasher compatible
- Also works in the oven
Cons
- No stated grill fit
- Grade not stated
- House brand, with no grill line behind it

7. Mydracas 304 Stainless Rib Rack for Kamado – Seven Racks in a Round Cooker

A kamado needs a rack that suits a round grate, and that is where this one stands apart. The listing says it holds seven racks of ribs and fits large and extra-large Big Green Egg, Kamado Joe Classic, Big Joe and most grills with an 18-inch or larger cooking surface. Seven is a claim for small slabs. Expect fewer with big spare ribs.
It is listed as 304 stainless steel, and the listing suggests soaking it in hot water for about five minutes before cleaning and oiling the rack before cooking. Mydracas is a small online brand sold through Dracarys Outdoor Products. Neither Big Green Egg nor Kamado Joe makes it. Kamado Joe’s own rib rack is also in stock, and we cover it in another guide, so it is worth a look if you prefer the grill maker’s version.
Why we like it
- Names the kamado sizes it fits
- 304 stainless steel, per the listing
- Claims seven racks
Key specifications
| Model | Not stated |
|---|---|
| Material | 304 stainless steel |
| Capacity stated | Up to 7 racks |
| Stated fit | Large and XL Big Green Egg, Kamado Joe Classic, Big Joe; 18 in. or larger |
| Dishwasher | Not stated; soak and scrub |
| Other use | Chops, chicken breasts |
| Made in | Not stated |
| Weight | Not stated |
Why we recommend it
The kamado owner who wants the most slabs in a round cooker and accepts a smaller brand.
Skip it if you prefer a major grill maker, or you only own a small kettle or a gas grill.
Pros and cons
Pros
- Kamado fit stated
- Stainless grade named
- Highest stated capacity here
Cons
- Small online brand
- Capacity claim looks optimistic for big slabs
- Listing copy is marketing heavy, so verify on arrival
How to choose a rib rack for your grill
Measure under the lid first
Ribs stand taller on edge than a rack alone suggests. Measure your grate and the clearance under the closed lid, then compare it with the slab you usually buy. Most of these listings give no height at all, so plan to check when the rack arrives and while you can still return it.
Match the footprint to your grate shape
A long, narrow rack suits a rectangular gas or pellet grate. A round kettle or kamado has less straight space, so the rack has to fit the circle and leave room to manage the coals. Our guide to Weber grill accessories covers what else competes for that grate.
Read capacity claims as a maximum
“Holds five racks” is the most the slots allow, usually with smaller slabs. Spare ribs are wider and thicker than baby backs. Trimming to St. Louis style or cooking one fewer slab leaves gaps for smoke and heat, which is the reason to use a rack at all.

Stainless or plated
Plated steel, as on both Webers, is a surface layer over steel, so hard scrubbing is the thing to avoid. Stainless has no such layer to wear. Neither avoids the real chore, which is baked-on sauce. Soak a rack in hot water before scrubbing, as the Mydracas listing advises, and if you sauce late in the cook there is less to scrub.
Keep heat readings honest
Standing ribs sit in a different spot from a lid gauge, so a probe near the rack tells you more. See our guide to the best grill thermometer, and use a smoker box on a gas grill if you want more smoke.
How we picked these seven racks
We started with Amazon listings and kept only racks that were in stock with a new lead offer. We read Weber’s own page for the 6605 rack; the other specs come from the Amazon listings, and “Not stated” means we did not see it there. Our search for independent reviews turned up mostly affiliate roundups with no documented method, so we don’t rely on them, and we did not find a side-by-side test we could trust. We searched the US Consumer Product Safety Commission’s recall database by brand. Weber’s and Camp Chef’s entries concern gas grills and portable stoves, the Ninja and Amazon Basics entries concern other products, and SnS and Mydracas returned nothing. We have not used these racks ourselves.
Rib rack questions, answered
Does a rib rack actually help?
It helps most when space is the problem. Standing slabs fit more ribs on the grate, and the gaps let smoke and heat move around them. If you only ever cook one slab, you do not need one.
Will a rib rack fit a Weber kettle?
Weber says its 6605 rack fits charcoal grills of 18 inches and larger. Check the lid clearance with your own slabs.
Can I use a rib rack in the oven?
The Amazon Basics listing says yes. Other listings do not say, so check the instructions in the box.
How many racks of ribs fit in a rib rack?
The makers here state from four to seven, with one giving no number. Those are upper limits, and smaller slabs fit better.
How do I clean a rib rack?
Follow each listing: Weber and Amazon Basics say the dishwasher is fine, Ninja asks for hand washing, and Mydracas suggests a hot soak first. Dry plated steel soon after washing.

Our final pick for ribs on the grill
Buy the Weber Rib Rack if you are unsure, because it is the only one here with a clear gas and charcoal fit from the maker. Choose SnS for stainless and roasts. For the wider kit, see our Weber accessories guide and grill seasoning guide. And if you would rather let someone else tend the fire tonight, look through Julia’s menu or call to order.
