Dash built its name on small, bright, cheerful appliances: the kind you see on a dorm desk or in a first apartment. A restaurant kitchen would not run on any of them, and that is fine, because they were not designed to. The real question is which ones do a useful job in a small kitchen and which ones you will use twice and then store.
This guide is for buyers who already like the Dash idea and want to know where to spend. To compare makers within any one category, follow the links to our other guides, starting with the mini waffle maker guide. We have not used these appliances for this guide. It rests on listings, Dash’s own pages and the reviews we could read, and we say where none exists.

Quick verdict: which Dash appliance to buy
Start with the Mini Waffle Maker: small, simple and the Dash with the best independent reports. Feeding a family? Take the MultiMaker Family System for its removable plates. The Express Griddle is the most useful for a small kitchen with a Mexican lean. For serious rice, air frying or toast, buy a specialist, as we explain below.

Five Dash appliances side by side

Our picks for the best dash kitchen appliances
Eight different appliance types, not eight colors. We kept to what is sold new and in plain stock, and we skipped Renewed listings.
1. Dash Mini Waffle Maker, Ceramic, 4-Inch – The One Dash Is Known For

If you buy one Dash, buy this. It is the appliance the brand is known for, and it is the one with the most independent support behind it. Reviewed’s Madison Trapkin wrote in 2021 that “each mini waffle was perfectly fluffy and evenly cooked,” and theSkimm’s testers said in 2022 that it “heats up incredibly fast.” Both pieces cover earlier Dash Mini waffle makers and do not say which coating they had, so this ceramic version may behave a little differently.
It makes one 4-inch waffle at a time. That is the catch: Trapkin says six waffles took her about 30 minutes, so this is a breakfast for one or two, not a family. The listing suggests chaffles, hash browns, paninis and cornbread. TheSkimm warns that with no fill line it is easy to overpour, and that the cord makes washing a hassle. The listing says to wipe the surfaces with a damp cloth.
This model also appears in another color on our mini waffle maker guide. We repeat the model here because a Dash guide without it would not be honest about what the brand does best.
Why we like it
- Even cooking and fluffy waffles, per Reviewed’s earlier model
- Heats fast, per theSkimm’s earlier model
- About a pound, and easy to put away
- Ceramic nonstick wipes clean, per the listing
Key specifications
| Model | DMW00121 |
|---|---|
| Type | Mini waffle maker |
| Capacity | One 4-inch waffle |
| Cooking surface | Ceramic nonstick |
| Power | Not stated |
| Size | 6.3 x 4.8 x 2.8 in |
| Weight | 1.1 lb |
| Warranty | Not stated on this listing |
Why we recommend it
It suits one or two people, a dorm or an RV, and anyone curious about Dash who wants a small first step.
Skip it if you feed a family at one sitting: at about four minutes each, Reviewed’s batch of six took half an hour.
Pros and cons
Pros
- Small enough for a drawer
- Independent reports on earlier versions are good
- Simple, with an indicator light
Cons
- One waffle at a time
- Easy to overfill, per theSkimm
- Cord gets in the way of washing
2. Dash MultiMaker Family Mini Maker System – Removable Plates for a Family

This is Dash’s answer to the single-waffle problem. The listing describes a larger unit with dual cooking surfaces, four removable waffle plates and four griddle plates, for pancakes, sausages and eggs as well as 4-inch waffles. The removable plates can go in the dishwasher, which solves the awkward washing that theSkimm complained of on the small corded model.
Check one thing before you buy. Neither the listing nor Dash’s own page says plainly how many waffles it makes at once. A buyer review on Dash’s site says the top plates come as a pair, which would mean two at a time, but we could not settle that from the maker’s own words. Dash’s page gives 350 watts, which is modest for a unit of nearly 8 pounds, and it showed this model as sold out on its own store when we looked, though Amazon had it in stock. It is a much bigger box than the Mini, so measure the cupboard first. We read no independent review of this exact system.
Why we like it
- Waffle and griddle plates in the box
- Removable plates go in the dishwasher
- Ceramic nonstick plates, per Dash
- Warranty stated by Dash
Key specifications
| Model | DIW028SGBAQ4 |
|---|---|
| Type | Removable-plate mini maker |
| Capacity | Not plainly stated |
| Cooking surface | Ceramic nonstick |
| Power | 350 W (Dash) |
| Size | 14.3 x 11.3 x 4.7 in |
| Weight | 7.9 lb |
| Warranty | 1 year, 2 with registration (Dash) |
Why we recommend it
It suits a family that wants the Dash format with easier cleanup and is willing to give it cupboard space.
Skip it if you need a full-size waffle for each person; our family waffle maker guide covers bigger machines from other makers.
Pros and cons
Pros
- Easiest cleanup of the waffle picks
- Griddle plates add range
- Stated warranty
Cons
- Output per batch is unclear
- Bulky for a mini maker
- Listing-only evidence

3. Dash Express Griddle, 8-Inch – Quesadillas and Single Eggs

This is a flat, open 8-inch griddle. Dash’s page says it is for pancakes, quesadillas, eggs and more, and that is the right scale: one quesadilla or a corn tortilla warmed at a time. For a one-person kitchen with no stove, or a dorm, it does a job the waffle makers cannot.
Its coating is PTFE nonstick, according to Dash. TheSkimm tested a Dash griddle, which looks to be the small one, and liked its range, but found some pancakes stuck without nonstick spray even though Dash calls its appliances nonstick. Reviewed’s Trapkin found an egg easy to cook on the 4-inch griddle and cleanup fast. Those reports do not cover this 8-inch griddle, so they are a guide to the brand’s griddles, not a review of this one. There is no temperature dial listed, only an indicator light, so you control heat with timing. If you want a griddle for feeding a family, this is not it; look at our electric griddle guide, which leads with the Ninja Sizzle Pro XL.
Why we like it
- 8-inch surface suits one quesadilla or tortilla
- Heats quickly, per the listing
- Non-slip feet and an indicator light
- Warranty stated by Dash
Key specifications
| Model | DMG8100AQ |
|---|---|
| Type | Round griddle |
| Capacity | 8-inch surface |
| Cooking surface | PTFE nonstick (Dash) |
| Power | Not stated |
| Size | 10 x 8 x 4 in |
| Weight | 3.2 lb |
| Warranty | 1 year, 2 with registration (Dash) |
Why we recommend it
It suits a small kitchen or dorm room where a stove is limited or missing.
Skip it if you want temperature control or need to cook for more than one or two.
Pros and cons
Pros
- Good size for tortillas and quesadillas
- Light
- Stated warranty
Cons
- No temperature control listed
- A Dash griddle had some sticking in theSkimm’s test
- One item at a time
4. Dash Express Mini Donut Maker – Fun, With a Little Supervision

This is the Dash you buy for fun. It bakes seven mini donuts at once in a double-sided nonstick mold, with no deep frying. Reviewed’s Trapkin tried it in 2021 and said, “Both recipes were simple and delicious.” Dash’s page gives 760 watts and says the nonstick contains PTFE.
Trapkin also explains the labor: you flip each donut with a toothpick after a minute of cooking, and she would not recommend it for kids without close parent supervision, even though the listing markets it to families and kids. Take that seriously, since the plates get hot and the flipping happens right over them. A cinnamon-sugar coating gives a churro-style treat, though that is our suggestion, not Dash’s. This is an occasional appliance, and it will spend most of the year in a cupboard, so buy it only if you will actually pull it out.
Why we like it
- Seven mini donuts at once, per the listing
- Independent report of good results from Reviewed
- No deep frying
- Warranty stated by Dash
Key specifications
| Model | DDM007GBAQ04 |
|---|---|
| Type | Donut maker |
| Capacity | 7 mini donuts |
| Cooking surface | PTFE nonstick (Dash) |
| Power | 760 W (Dash) |
| Size | 10.6 x 8.7 x 3.9 in |
| Weight | 2.2 lb (Dash) |
| Warranty | 1 year, 2 with registration (Dash) |
Why we recommend it
It suits occasional weekend baking and a birthday breakfast with an adult at the machine.
Skip it if you expected a children’s toy: Reviewed says kids need close supervision.
Pros and cons
Pros
- Reviewed liked the results
- Bakes instead of frying
- Compact
Cons
- Each donut needs flipping by hand
- Needs close supervision with kids
- A single-purpose gadget
5. Dash Infrared Digital 6-Quart Air Fryer – Dash’s Family-Size Fryer

Most Dash air fryers are small. This one has a 6-quart basket, and Dash says it will roast a whole chicken. It has three one-touch presets for wings, fries and veggies, a viewing window and a shake reminder, and you can set your own time and temperature up to 400 degrees F and 60 minutes.
The selling point is infrared heating. Dash says it preheats up to 75 percent faster and cooks up to 25 percent quicker than conventional Dash air fryers. That comparison is against Dash’s own machines, not the market, and we read no independent test of it. The basket and tray are ceramic nonstick and dishwasher safe, though Dash itself recommends hand washing to keep the coating in good shape. TheSkimm tested a different, smaller Dash fryer and said it works well, with thicker cuts less crisp. If cooking results are your priority, our air fryer guide leads with the Ninja Air Fryer Max XL, not a Dash.
Why we like it
- 6-quart basket with room for a whole chicken, per Dash
- Viewing window and shake reminder
- Three presets plus manual settings
- Ceramic basket and tray
Key specifications
| Model | DFAFR60001 |
|---|---|
| Type | Infrared air fryer |
| Capacity | 6 quarts |
| Cooking surface | Ceramic nonstick |
| Power | Not stated |
| Size | 13.8 x 13.8 x 13.8 in |
| Weight | 7.7 lb |
| Warranty | Not stated on this listing |
Why we recommend it
It suits a Dash-loyal household that wants a full family air fryer with simple presets.
Skip it if you want the air fryer with the strongest independent record: there is no such record for this model that we could read.
Pros and cons
Pros
- A real family size
- Window lets you check food
- Simple presets
Cons
- Speed claims compare only with other Dash models
- Tops out at 400 degrees F
- No independent review that we read

6. Dash Family Sized Rice Cooker, 20-Cup – One Touch, Big Batches

For a family or a party, Dash’s big rice cooker makes up to 20 cups of cooked rice from 10 cups uncooked. It is a one-touch machine: add rice and water and press, and there is a Keep Warm function for afterward. The pot is removable with a ceramic nonstick coating, and Dash also suggests soups, oatmeal and grains.
Keep your expectations realistic. A one-touch cooker has no fuzzy logic or special programs for brown or sushi rice listed, and we read no independent review of this exact model. For arroz rojo you will still want to toast the rice and build the sauce in a skillet before it goes in. If rice is the center of your cooking, our rice cooker guide leads with the Zojirushi Neuro Fuzzy, and our large rice cooker guide compares other big machines. This pick is for those who want a lot of plain rice with almost no thought.
Why we like it
- Up to 20 cups cooked, per the listing
- One-touch cooking
- Keep Warm function
- Removable ceramic nonstick pot
Key specifications
| Model | DFRCM10GBCM2 |
|---|---|
| Type | Rice cooker |
| Capacity | 20 cups cooked, 10 uncooked |
| Cooking surface | Ceramic nonstick |
| Power | Not stated |
| Size | Not stated |
| Weight | 5.3 lb |
| Warranty | Not stated on this listing |
Why we recommend it
It suits large households and hosts who want big batches of plain rice with one button.
Skip it if you cook small amounts, since a large pot is a poor fit, or you want settings for different grains.
Pros and cons
Pros
- Large capacity
- Very simple
- Removable pot
Cons
- Few controls
- Size not stated on the listing
- Listing-only evidence
7. Dash Insulated Electric Kettle, 1.7-Liter – Set the Temperature

This is the least gimmicky Dash on the page. It holds 1.7 liters and has a digital display for choosing a temperature, lower for green tea and hot chocolate and up to 212 degrees F for oatmeal, ramen or French press coffee. The listing rates it at 1500 watts.
The double-wall stainless body is meant to stay cooler on the outside and hold heat in the water longer, and a Keep Warm button holds your chosen temperature. For cafe de olla or hot chocolate that matters, because you can bring the water to the right heat and leave it. The listing’s warranty field says “No warranty”, which may just be a data entry, but check it with Dash before you rely on one. We read no independent review of it, and if you want a kettle with a stronger record, our electric kettle guide leads with the Cuisinart PerfecTemp.
Why we like it
- Selectable temperatures on a digital display
- Double-wall insulated body
- Keep Warm function
- Anti-spill pour lever
Key specifications
| Model | DETK300GBBS04 |
|---|---|
| Type | Electric kettle |
| Capacity | 1.7 liters |
| Cooking surface | Stainless steel |
| Power | 1500 W |
| Size | Not stated |
| Weight | 3.6 lb |
| Warranty | Listing field says none; confirm with Dash |
Why we recommend it
It suits tea and coffee drinkers who want temperature control and a cooler outside to the pot.
Skip it if you only boil water, since a plain kettle will do that with less to go wrong.
Pros and cons
Pros
- Temperature control
- Insulated exterior
- Cord storage in the base
Cons
- Warranty listing is unclear
- Size not stated
- No independent review that we read
8. Dash SmartStore 2-Slice Toaster – Tidy Storage Lid

The idea here is tidiness. The SmartStore has an included lid that keeps dust out of the slots between uses, plus a slide-out crumb tray. It has a browning dial with five levels, extra-wide slots for bagels and thick slices, and one-touch bagel and 15-second functions.
That is a decent set of features for a small toaster, though we should be plain about the evidence: we read no independent test of this toaster, and how evenly it browns is what actually decides a toaster’s worth. Our toaster guide leads with the Breville Bit More if you care most about the result. We would not warm tortillas in a toaster, though; use a griddle or comal for those. Our corn vs flour tortillas guide covers how each behaves.
Why we like it
- Storage lid keeps dust out
- Five browning levels
- Wide slots for bagels
- Slide-out crumb tray
Key specifications
| Model | DST200GBBK04 |
|---|---|
| Type | 2-slice toaster |
| Capacity | 2 slices |
| Cooking surface | Not applicable |
| Power | Not stated |
| Size | 11.2 x 7.1 x 8.5 in |
| Weight | 4.4 lb |
| Warranty | Not stated on this listing |
Why we recommend it
It suits a small counter where the toaster stays out and you want it to look tidy.
Skip it if toast quality is what you care about most, because we could not read a test that shows how it browns.
Pros and cons
Pros
- Lid is a real point of difference
- Bagel function
- Compact
Cons
- No independent test that we read
- Only two slices
- Power and warranty not stated
Where Dash falls short, and who to look at instead
- Speed. Small plates mean small batches. Reviewed’s writer took about 30 minutes to make six mini waffles. For a family, see our family waffle maker guide.
- Control. Several of these have no temperature control at all. TheSkimm says Dash’s toaster oven runs at a fixed 400 degrees F and is set by timer only. Reviewed’s writer found its small griddle needed the lid lifted every 15 seconds or so to keep a yolk soft.
- Nonstick reality. TheSkimm reports some pancakes stuck on Dash’s griddle without spray. Coatings vary as well: Dash lists ceramic on some models and PTFE on others, so check the one you are buying. Follow Dash’s care advice, since it recommends hand washing to protect the ceramic basket on the air fryer.
- Depth of evidence. Independent tests of Dash are few and mostly old. The two we relied on date from 2021 and 2022 and cover four small appliances. Most picks here rest on listings alone.
- Specialists do more. For rice, look at Zojirushi. For air frying, look at Ninja. For toast, look at Breville. Those brands lead our rice cooker, air fryer and toaster guides.

How to choose a Dash appliance
1. Ask whether you lack a stove or just like the idea
In a dorm or RV, a griddle or rice cooker solves a real problem. In a full kitchen, many of these repeat what a skillet or saucepan already does. Buy accordingly.
2. Count the people
Mini makers are for one or two. At four minutes a waffle, the arithmetic soon works against you. The family system, large air fryer and big rice cooker exist for that reason.
3. Check the coating on this exact model
Dash uses the same product names across versions. The Mini Waffle Maker here says ceramic, while the griddle and donut maker are PTFE according to Dash. Read the listing, not the name.
4. Look at the cleanup
Fixed plates on a corded unit have to be wiped, and theSkimm calls washing one a hassle. Removable plates, as on the family system, are the easier arrangement.

5. Read the warranty line
Dash’s pages for the griddle, donut maker and family system state a one-year warranty and two years with registration in its rewards program. The Amazon listings mostly say nothing, and the kettle’s says “No warranty”, so confirm before you rely on it.
How we chose these eight Dash appliances
We started from the in-stock Dash listings the Amazon API returned on November 3, 2026, kept those sold new with a plain in-stock status, and chose one per appliance type. We avoided exact listings already picked on other pages here, which is why several familiar Dash models, including the egg cooker and popcorn makers, appear on other guides and not on this one. One model repeats in another color, the Mini Waffle Maker, for the reason given in its section. We read Reviewed’s mini maker piece, theSkimm’s Dash review, which carries affiliate links as our pages do, and Dash’s own pages where they would open. Where we read no independent review, we say so and the pick rests on Dash’s listing. We also searched the CPSC recall database. Nothing here was tested by Julia’s.
Dash appliance questions, answered
Are Dash appliances any good?
For small jobs, the evidence we read says yes. Reviewed and theSkimm both liked the mini waffle maker and griddle, with complaints about batch size and overfilling. They are not built to match specialist machines.
What is the most useful Dash appliance?
For most people, the Mini Waffle Maker is the place to start. In a room with no stove, the griddle or rice cooker may do more for you.
Is Dash cookware ceramic or PTFE?
It depends on the model. The Mini Waffle Maker, family system, air fryer and rice cooker here say ceramic nonstick, while Dash says the griddle and donut maker use PTFE. We make no health claim either way.
Have Dash appliances been recalled?
The CPSC recall database we searched on November 3, 2026 returned nothing for StoreBound, the maker name we knew to check, and the only “Dash” title was an unrelated 2016 stroller. That is not a guarantee, so search cpsc.gov for your own model.
Can a Dash griddle make quesadillas?
Dash says so for its 8-inch griddle. Expect one at a time. For a crowd, use a larger griddle; see our electric griddle guide.
Our final pick from the Dash range
Buy the Mini Waffle Maker if you want to try Dash at its best, and step up to the family system if one waffle at a time will not do. Treat the rest as useful small tools, and go to a specialist when a job really matters. If you would rather leave the cooking to someone else tonight, call to order from Julia’s at (346) 546-8283.
