Room for the Whole Stack: The Best Electric Pancake Griddle

The best electric pancake griddle for how you serve: warming drawers, big surfaces, fold-away plates, and an independent warning about one Dash griddle.

Pancakes ask different things of a griddle than burgers do. You need a surface wide enough to cook a full round at once, steady moderate heat from edge to edge, and somewhere to keep the first batch hot. A griddle can sear beautifully and still make a poor stack.

This page looks at griddles through that one lens. Our broader electric griddle guide covers all-purpose models, and none of the griddles below repeat its picks. Here the focus is capacity, warming and cleanup, with pancakes as the test case.

Quick verdict: which pancake griddle to buy

Buy the GreenPan Advanced Electric Griddle if you want finished pancakes kept hot in a warming drawer. For the largest surface, choose the Martha Stewart XL. If cleanup is what puts you off, the DASH Deluxe has a removable plate, though a related Dash griddle fared poorly in an independent test, and we explain that below.

Our picks for the best electric pancake griddle

1. GreenPan Advanced Electric Griddle – A Warming Drawer Under the Plate

Best overallGreenPan Advanced 10.5”x 20” Electric Griddle with Warming Drawer

Pancakes have one real problem at home: the first ones are cold by the time the last ones are ready. GreenPan’s griddle tackles that directly with a removable warming drawer under the cooking plate, so finished stacks stay hot while you pour the next round. The cooking surface is 10.5 by 20 inches, or 210 square inches, which clears the 200-square-inch minimum America’s Test Kitchen prefers.

The coating is GreenPan’s ceramic nonstick, which the maker says is made without intentionally added PFAS. A single knob sets the temperature, which is simple, though the listing doesn’t give a range or any Fahrenheit marks. For pancakes that matters, because you’re going to be finding your batch’s right setting by watching the first one.

For cleanup, GreenPan says you can wipe it or put the griddle in the dishwasher without the probe, but it also recommends hand washing, which is worth following for the coating’s sake. Pancakes are the first food on its list of uses. It was sold and shipped by Amazon when we checked, and GreenPan is a well-known ceramic cookware name rather than a thin brand. We haven’t read an independent test of this griddle, so its heat evenness is unknown to us.

Why we like it

  • Removable warming drawer holds finished pancakes.
  • 210 square inches of cooking surface.
  • PFAS-free ceramic nonstick, as the maker defines it.
  • Griddle can go in the dishwasher without the probe.

Key specifications

Model CC008794-001
Cooking surface 10.5 x 20 inches
Power Not stated
Temperature control Single knob, no range stated
Coating Ceramic
Trays Warming drawer
Cleaning Wipe or dishwasher, hand wash recommended
Warranty Not stated

Why we recommend it

This suits a family that wants everyone to sit down to hot pancakes at once. It’s a straightforward griddle with one feature that solves the real problem.

Skip it if you want Fahrenheit marks on the dial. The listing shows only a single knob with no stated range.

Pros and cons

Pros

  • Warming drawer
  • Room for a family batch
  • Known ceramic cookware maker

Cons

  • No stated temperature range
  • Power not stated
  • Hand wash recommended

2. Martha Stewart XL Electric Griddle – The Largest Surface Here

Best for big batchesMartha Stewart 12"x 22" XL Electric Griddle

At 22 by 12 inches, or 264 square inches, this griddle has the biggest stated cooking surface on this page. The listing says it handles multiple pancakes along with up to 15 eggs, grilled cheese, steaks or fajitas, so it should have room for a crowd’s breakfast. Martha Stewart is a licensed name on this one, so the support is what matters, and the listing gives no warranty term.

It runs on 1,500 watts with an embedded heating element and a dial for setting the temperature, and the listing calls that control precise but gives no Fahrenheit range. The coating is PFAS-free ceramic nonstick. The griddle and drip tray are both dishwasher safe once you detach the temperature probe, the plainest cleanup statement on this page.

The size has a cost, because 25 inches of griddle on the listing’s measurements needs real counter space and somewhere to live afterward. It has no warming tray, so for a big batch you’ll want a low oven or a covered plate nearby. It was sold and shipped by Amazon when we checked.

Why we like it

  • Largest stated surface at 264 square inches.
  • Griddle and drip tray are dishwasher safe.
  • 1,500 watts.
  • PFAS-free ceramic nonstick.

Key specifications

Model CC010683-001
Cooking surface 22 x 12 inches
Power 1,500 watts
Temperature control Dial, no range stated
Coating Ceramic
Trays Drip tray
Cleaning Dishwasher safe, detach probe
Warranty Not stated

Why we recommend it

Buy this if you’re regularly cooking for six or more and want to fill the griddle once instead of three times.

Skip it if storage is tight. It’s about 25 inches long and has no fold-away feature.

Pros and cons

Pros

  • Biggest surface
  • Fully dishwasher safe
  • Drip tray

Cons

  • Needs a lot of storage
  • No warming tray
  • Temperature range not stated

3. bella Griddle with Warming Tray – A Stated Six-Pancake Capacity

Best stated capacitybella 10"x20" Ceramic Griddle with Warming Tray

bella does something most griddle listings don’t: it tells you how many pancakes fit, at six at a time, or up to 10 eggs, on a 10-by-20-inch surface. That’s useful for planning, even if your pancakes may be larger or smaller. It works out to 200 square inches, right at the size America’s Test Kitchen says it prefers as a minimum.

The electric warming tray is BPA free and dishwasher safe, and it keeps cooked food warm while you finish. It runs on 1,500 watts with a removable temperature probe and dial, and the listing mentions cool-touch handles. bella’s EverGood ceramic coating is described as made without PFAS, PFOA, PTFE, lead or cadmium.

The listing doesn’t give a temperature range for this model or say whether the griddle plate itself goes in the dishwasher. So plan on wiping the griddle and washing the tray. bella is a widely sold appliance name, and this was sold and shipped by Amazon when we checked.

Why we like it

  • Stated capacity of six pancakes or 10 eggs.
  • Warming tray is dishwasher safe.
  • Coating stated free of PFAS, lead and cadmium.
  • Removable probe with dial.

Key specifications

Model 35113-016A
Cooking surface 10 x 20 inches
Power 1,500 watts
Temperature control Dial on removable probe
Coating Ceramic
Trays Warming tray
Cleaning Tray dishwasher safe, griddle not stated
Warranty Not stated

Why we recommend it

This fits a family of four who want a warming tray without paying for a bigger griddle, and who like knowing what the griddle holds in advance.

Skip it if you need more than six at a time. The maker’s own number is the limit you should plan around.

Pros and cons

Pros

  • Clear pancake count
  • Warming tray
  • Cool-touch handles

Cons

  • Griddle plate care not stated
  • Temperature range not stated

4. bella Fold and Store Griddle – Two Heat Zones, Folds Away

Best for small kitchensbella 10"x20" Fold and Store Griddle

This is a truly different griddle from the bella above, even at the same 10-by-20-inch size. The plate folds so the griddle takes up, by bella’s account, up to 50 percent less storage room. In a kitchen without a free cabinet, that’s often what decides whether a griddle gets bought at all.

The second feature is two temperature zones, each reaching up to 400°F. bella’s example is pancakes on one side and bacon on the other, which is a real help, because the two want different heat. A built-in drip tray catches fat. The EverGood ceramic coating is again described as free of PFAS, PFOA, PTFE, lead and cadmium.

There’s no warming tray, so you’d use a low oven or a covered plate for finished stacks. The listing doesn’t mention dishwasher care or give the wattage. A fold-out griddle has a seam or hinge in its surface, and the listing doesn’t explain how batter behaves near it, so pour pancakes well away from the middle until you know how yours behaves. That’s our caution from the design, not something stated. It was sold and shipped by Amazon when we checked.

Why we like it

  • Folds for storage, up to 50 percent smaller per bella.
  • Two zones, each up to 400°F.
  • Built-in drip tray.
  • Coating stated free of PFAS, lead and cadmium.

Key specifications

Model 35101
Cooking surface 10 x 20 inches
Power Not stated
Temperature control Two zones to 400°F
Coating Ceramic
Trays Drip tray
Cleaning Not stated
Warranty Not stated

Why we recommend it

Choose this if you make pancakes and bacon together in a kitchen short on cabinet space. Nothing else here offers two zones or a folding plate.

Skip it if you want one smooth, unbroken surface for big pancakes. The fold is worth thinking about before you buy.

Pros and cons

Pros

  • Saves storage space
  • Separate heat zones
  • Drip tray

Cons

  • No warming tray
  • Care and wattage not stated
  • Center fold in the surface

5. DASH Deluxe Everyday Griddle – Fahrenheit Dial, Removable Plate

Best for easy cleanupDash Deluxe Everyday Electric Griddle

Two things on this griddle’s list line up well with what America’s Test Kitchen says it wants: a cooking plate that comes off to go in the sink or dishwasher, and a temperature dial stated in degrees, from 200°F to 400°F, plus a Warm setting. The surface is listed as 20 inches, and it runs on 1,500 watts. The drip tray also comes off.

We should be clear about a different Dash griddle. America’s Test Kitchen tested the Dash Ceramic Nonstick Everyday Griddle, model DEG20C, and put it in its Not Recommended group for uneven heat at the edges, short walls that made flipping pancakes hard, and a dial numbered 1 to 5 rather than in degrees. This Deluxe, model DEG255, is not that griddle. It has a different plate and dial, but it’s the same family, and its listing doesn’t state the wall height, so we can’t say the short-wall problem is gone.

For that reason we rank it for cleanup, not for results. The Warm setting does some of the job of a warming tray, holding breakfast until everyone is seated. It was sold and shipped by Amazon when we checked.

Why we like it

  • Plate and drip tray both come off for washing.
  • Dial from 200°F to 400°F, plus Warm.
  • 1,500 watts.
  • Listing names pancakes, eggs, burgers and bacon.

Key specifications

Model DEG255GBAQ01
Cooking surface 20 inches, width not stated
Power 1,500 watts
Temperature control 200°F to 400°F, Warm
Coating Nonstick
Trays Drip tray, Warm setting
Cleaning Plate and tray dishwasher safe
Warranty Not stated

Why we recommend it

This is the one for someone who avoids griddles because of the cleanup. A plate that goes in the sink changes the job more than any other feature here.

Skip it if you’re worried about flipping near the edges. A related Dash griddle drew that complaint from America’s Test Kitchen, and this listing doesn’t rule it out.

Pros and cons

Pros

  • Removable plate
  • Dial marked in degrees
  • Warm setting

Cons

  • Wall height not stated
  • A related model did poorly in an independent test

6. OVENTE Electric Griddle – A Compact 16-Inch Plate

Best for one or twoOVENTE Electric Griddle with 16 x 10 Inch Non-Stick Plate

OVENTE’s griddle is the smallest here, at 16 by 10 inches, or 160 square inches. That’s under the 200-square-inch minimum America’s Test Kitchen prefers, and it isn’t for a family, but it’s plenty for a couple’s Sunday pancakes. The listing makes this a selling point, with a compact body that goes into a cabinet once the temperature probe is detached.

It has 1,200 watts and five settings from 200°F to 400°F, which at least gives you a real range. The nonstick is described as PFOA-free, and a drip tray catches grease. OVENTE says to wash the griddle and removable tray with warm soapy water and a soft, non-metal pad, so this is a hand-wash griddle.

A one-year limited warranty is stated, along with US-based customer service. OVENTE is a value appliance name, and the griddle was sold and shipped by Amazon when we checked. It also has the lowest stated wattage on this page, which is reasonable for the smaller plate, but we don’t know how quickly it recovers after you add cold batter.

Why we like it

  • Five settings from 200°F to 400°F.
  • Compact 16 x 10 inch plate.
  • One-year limited warranty.
  • Detachable probe for storage.

Key specifications

Model GD1610B
Cooking surface 16 x 10 inches
Power 1,200 watts
Temperature control 5 settings, 200°F to 400°F
Coating PFOA-free nonstick
Trays Drip tray
Cleaning Hand wash, soft pad
Warranty 1 year limited

Why we recommend it

This suits a couple, a college apartment or anyone who wants occasional pancakes without giving a griddle a large share of their cabinet.

Skip it if you feed more than two or three at a time. The plate is small, and you’d be cooking in several rounds.

Pros and cons

Pros

  • Stated temperature range
  • Compact
  • Clear warranty

Cons

  • Small surface
  • Hand wash only
  • No warming tray

7. Oster Extra Large Griddle – 22 Inches With Two Trays

Best third-party findOster Nonstick Extra Large 22" Family Size Countertop Ceramic Nonstick Griddle with Warming Tray Removable Drip Tray

Oster’s 22-inch griddle combines a large ceramic nonstick surface with both a removable warming tray and a removable drip tray. Only this griddle on the page lists both. The listing says adjustable controls let you raise and lower the heat for nicely browned pancakes or crisp bacon, and it mentions cool-touch handles for moving it.

The coating is described as free of PFAS, lead and cadmium. Beyond that the listing is short: there’s no wattage, no temperature range and no surface width, though its overall dimensions are about 21 by 12 inches. Pancakes and bacon are the only foods it names, which at least keeps it on topic.

The reason it’s further down this list is the seller. The lead offer came from a third party called always quality, not from Oster or Amazon, and Oster products sold that way may have different return and warranty terms. Check those before you buy. If they’re clear, it’s a fair alternative to the Martha Stewart griddle, with a warming tray that one lacks.

Why we like it

  • Both a warming tray and a drip tray.
  • 22-inch family-size surface.
  • Coating stated free of PFAS, lead and cadmium.
  • Cool-touch handles.

Key specifications

Model 2208652
Cooking surface 22 inches, width not stated
Power Not stated
Temperature control Adjustable, no range stated

Why we recommend it

This appeals to a large household that wants a warming tray and a known appliance name, and doesn’t mind buying from a third-party seller.

Skip it if you want Amazon’s own return handling. The seller here was a third party when we checked.

Pros and cons

Pros

  • Two removable trays
  • Big surface
  • Known maker

Cons

  • Third-party seller
  • Power and range not stated

What an independent test tells us

America’s Test Kitchen published a review of electric griddles in February 2026, and its method suits this page. It cooked pancakes and took the surface temperature in five spots at five-minute intervals, then judged how evenly each griddle heated from edge to edge. It prefers at least 200 square inches, walls at least 1 inch high, removable plates and clear, adjustable controls. Its winner was a Ninja, and its Best Buy was a Presto Cool-Touch.

None of the seven griddles on this page was named in that review, apart from the related Dash we’ve flagged, so we don’t know how evenly they heat. If independent results matter most to you, look at the Presto and other models on our main electric griddle page. Prefer a bigger or cheaper griddle? Try our XL griddle guide or our value griddle guide.

How to choose a nonstick pancake griddle

Surface size

Multiply length by width. America’s Test Kitchen’s 200-square-inch floor is a good guide for a family. bella says six pancakes fit on its 200 square inches, so a 264-square-inch griddle should hold a few more. A griddle much smaller than that suits one or two people.

Keeping the first batch hot

A warming drawer or tray is the feature that matters most for pancakes in particular. GreenPan, the bella 35113 and Oster all have one. DASH’s Deluxe has a Warm setting instead. For the others, use a low oven and a sheet pan.

Temperature control

A dial marked in degrees lets you find your setting and go straight back to it next time. DASH and OVENTE give degree ranges, and the bella fold-away gives a 400°F maximum. Others only offer a dial, so you’ll want to test with one small pancake first.

Wall height

America’s Test Kitchen found short walls made flipping harder on one griddle, and it prefers walls of an inch or more. None of these listings states wall height. Check the photos before you buy, and if you’re a nervous flipper, give this some weight.

Cleaning

A removable plate is the easiest to wash, and DASH’s Deluxe offers one. Martha Stewart states the griddle and drip tray are dishwasher safe once the probe is off. GreenPan allows the dishwasher but recommends hand washing, and OVENTE calls for warm soapy water and a soft pad. Keep the probe dry on every griddle here. Our griddle cleaner guide has more on stuck-on residue.

How we picked these griddles

We searched Amazon for electric griddles, skipped anything already on our other electric griddle pages, and kept those in stock with a new lead offer whose listings mention pancakes. We read each listing for surface size, wattage, controls, trays and care. The Dash Everyday DEG200 was left out because it looks close to the Dash model that did poorly in America’s Test Kitchen’s review, and the Hamilton Beach 200-square-inch griddle and Black+Decker griddles weren’t readily in stock.

We have not used these griddles. We read America’s Test Kitchen’s electric griddle review, along with GearLab’s Presto review for how a griddle can differ from its dial. GearLab notes that some griddles it measured ended up wildly off from the temperature they were set to, and that’s a good reason to judge your griddle by your first pancake and not by its number. Everything specific about a griddle here comes from its listing, and our cautions, like the one on the folding griddle’s seam, are labeled as ours.

Pancake griddle questions, answered

How many pancakes fit on an electric griddle?

bella states six on its 10-by-20-inch griddle, which is the only count listed here. That’s a helpful rough guide: about 33 square inches per pancake, depending on the size you pour.

Why are my griddle pancakes darker at the edges?

Uneven heat is one common reason. America’s Test Kitchen reported pancakes on one griddle browning more at the edges and staying lighter in the center. Rotate pancakes between zones or pour toward the griddle’s middle if yours does this.

Is a nonstick griddle good for pancakes?

All seven here are nonstick, and that’s what you want for pancakes. Use a non-metal turner, since OVENTE, for one, calls for non-metal cleaning tools on its plate and metal can scratch a coating.

Do I need a griddle with a warming tray?

No, but it’s the nearest thing to a pancake-specific feature. A low oven with a sheet pan does the same job if you have one free.

What about a stovetop griddle instead?

A two-burner pan can make good pancakes, but it heats unevenly across the burners on many stoves. Our pancake griddle pan guide covers those.

Our final pick for pancake mornings

For most families, the GreenPan Advanced Electric Griddle is the one to get, since the warming drawer solves the cold-first-pancake problem. Choose the Martha Stewart for sheer space, and the DASH Deluxe if washing up is the main worry. A good pour helps too, and our batter dispenser guide covers that step. If you’d rather leave the cooking to someone else, call to order from Julia’s.
