An ordinary electric griddle cooks breakfast for three or four. An extra-large one, roughly 10 x 20 inches and up to about 12 x 22, cooks for a crowd: a dozen pancakes, a full pound of bacon, or a whole tray of quesadillas while the tortillas warm at the other end. For family-size taco nights and holiday breakfasts it is the difference between cooking in one batch and cooking in four.
Size brings its own questions, though. A bigger plate needs enough power to heat evenly, a place to drain grease, and somewhere to live between uses. This guide covers only the extra-large plug-in models, compared on the size each maker states, the heat, the coating and how they clean and store.

Quick verdict: which XL griddle to buy
The best XL electric griddle for most families is the Presto 22-inch Slimline Extra-Large Griddle: a 22 x 13-inch PFAS-free ceramic surface, automatic heat control and a low profile that stores easily. If you want two temperatures at once, the Blackstone 22-inch Electric Griddle has two independent zones and a hood. Short on storage, choose the Presto Tilt-N-Fold, which folds to fit an 18-inch cabinet.
Looking for a regular-size griddle, or a grill-griddle combination? Our main guide to the best electric griddles covers the full range, and none of the eight griddles below repeat its picks.

Our picks for the best XL electric griddle
Every griddle here gives you at least 200 square inches of cooking surface and plugs into a standard kitchen outlet. They differ in how they heat, what the surface is coated with, where the grease goes and how they store, and each review ends with one honest reason to skip it.
1. Presto 22-inch Slimline Extra-Large Griddle – Big Surface, Slim Enough to Store

Presto’s 07072 gives you a 22 x 13-inch cooking surface, among the largest plug-in surfaces you can buy for a home kitchen, in a low-profile body Presto designed for easy storage. That is room for a full Sunday breakfast at once, or a dozen tortillas warming in rows while the fajita meat finishes at the other end.
The surface is ceramic nonstick, which Presto describes as PFAS-free, on a heavy cast aluminum base. Presto’s Control Master heat control holds the temperature you set automatically; Presto does not give the temperature range or wattage in the listing. A backstop ledge along one edge helps when you slide a spatula under pancakes, and a slide-out tray catches drippings.
With the heat control removed, the whole griddle can be immersed in the sink for washing. Presto backs it with a one-year limited warranty.
It is not the same griddle as the Presto 22-inch with removable handles that leads the family section of our main electric griddle guide; the Slimline trades the removable handles for a thinner profile.
Why we like it
- 22 x 13-inch cooking surface (Presto)
- Low profile for storage
- PFAS-free ceramic nonstick (Presto)
- Backstop ledge for flipping
- Fully immersible with the control removed

Why we recommend it
It suits a family that cooks breakfast or taco night for six or more and wants the most flat surface per inch of cabinet space.
Skip it if you need to know the exact temperature. Presto’s dial is marked for cooking tasks rather than giving a stated range in the listing.
Pros and cons
Pros
- Very large surface
- Slim for storage
- Easy to wash
- Established maker
Cons
- Wattage and range not stated
- Single heat zone
- Ceramic coatings need gentle utensils
2. Blackstone 22-inch Electric Griddle with Hood – Two Heat Zones, One Plug

Blackstone is best known for propane flat-tops, and the 8001 is its plug-in version for a counter or a balcony where gas is not allowed. It gives you 312 square inches of cooking area split into two independently controlled heat zones, so you can sear steak for fajitas on one side while tortillas stay warm on the other.
An LCD display with an EZ-Touch dial shows each zone’s setting, and the glass hood rotates and lifts off when you want an open teppanyaki-style surface. Grease and scraps push to the back into Blackstone’s rear grease management system. It runs on a regular 120-volt outlet at 1,600 watts, per the listing.
The plate is stainless steel with a ceramic titanium coating, and Blackstone says plainly that E-Series units are not compatible with metal utensils, so use wood, silicone or nylon. The warranty is one year.
Why we like it
- 312 sq in of cooking area (Blackstone)
- Two independent heat zones
- LCD display for each zone
- Removable glass hood
- Rear grease management
Key specifications
| Model | 8001 (E-Series) |
|---|---|
| Cooking surface | 312 sq in |
| Power | 1,600 W, 120 V |
| Heat control | Two zones, EZ-Touch dial with LCD |
| Coating | Ceramic titanium on stainless steel |
| Grease and serving | Rear grease channel and cup |
| Cleaning | Not stated as dishwasher-safe |
| Warranty | 1 year |
Why we recommend it
It suits a cook who wants a flat-top feel indoors, with meat and tortillas or eggs and bacon at different temperatures at the same time.
Skip it if you like a metal spatula and scraper. Blackstone says this coating is not for metal utensils.
Pros and cons
Pros
- Two temperatures at once
- Digital display
- Hood for steaming and melting
- Standard outlet
Cons
- No metal utensils
- Bulkier than a flat griddle
- Hood adds parts to clean
3. BELLA XL 12 x 22-inch Ceramic Titanium Griddle – Fifteen Eggs at Once

BELLA’s 14648 is a full 12 x 22-inch griddle, and the listing says it holds 15 eggs at once, which is the easiest way to picture its size. A 1,500-watt heating system sits under a ceramic coating that BELLA reinforces with titanium and says is free of lead and cadmium.
BELLA claims the coating is eight times more durable and cooks up to 30% faster than standard nonstick; those are the maker’s own comparisons, not independent figures. A removable probe with a dial sets the temperature, the handles are cool-touch, and the base has a built-in ledge with a backstop for flipping pancakes.
The listing title describes the cooking surface as submersible once the probe is out. This is a different model from the BELLA 12 x 22 in oatmilk that appears in our main electric griddle guide.
Why we like it
- 12 x 22-inch surface
- 1,500-watt heating system
- Titanium-reinforced ceramic coating (BELLA)
- Cool-touch handles
- Ledge with a backstop
Key specifications
| Model | 14648 |
|---|---|
| Cooking surface | 12 x 22 in |
| Power | 1,500 W |
| Heat control | Removable probe with dial (range not stated) |
| Coating | Ceramic, titanium-reinforced; no lead or cadmium (BELLA) |
| Grease and serving | Base ledge with backstop |
| Cleaning | Submersible surface with probe removed (listing) |
| Warranty | Not stated |
Why we recommend it
It suits big families and anyone hosting brunch who wants the most surface for the money from an established small-appliance brand.
Skip it if you want a drip tray that catches grease. The listing describes a ledge and backstop, not a slide-out tray.
Pros and cons
Pros
- Large surface
- Fast 1,500W heating
- Cool-touch handles
- Easy flipping ledge
Cons
- Durability claims are BELLA’s own
- Temperature range not stated
- Warranty not stated in listing

4. Presto Tilt-N-Fold X-Large Electric Griddle – Folds Into a Standard Cabinet

The usual problem with an extra-large griddle is where to keep it. Presto’s 07073 solves that: the legs fold in, the drip tray locks in place, and Presto says it then fits in most standard 18-inch cabinets. Opened up, it gives you 254 square inches of cooking surface.
Flip-down levers tilt the surface so fat runs off bacon or burgers into the slide-out drip tray while they cook, then you level it again for pancakes or eggs. The coating is ceramic nonstick, which Presto describes as PFAS-free, and Presto’s Control Master heat control keeps the temperature automatically.
Like other Presto griddles, it is fully immersible once the heat control is removed. It carries Presto’s one-year limited warranty.
Why we like it
- Folds to fit an 18-inch cabinet (Presto)
- 254 sq in cooking surface
- Tilts to drain fat
- PFAS-free ceramic nonstick (Presto)
- Immersible with the control removed
Key specifications
| Model | 07073 |
|---|---|
| Cooking surface | 254 sq in |
| Power | Not stated |
| Heat control | Control Master, automatic (range not stated) |
| Coating | Ceramic nonstick, PFAS-free (Presto) |
| Grease and serving | Tilting surface; slide-out drip tray |
| Cleaning | Immersible with control removed |
| Warranty | 1 year limited |
Why we recommend it
It suits apartment kitchens and anyone who wants an XL griddle that does not live on the counter.
Skip it if you want the full 22-inch length. At 254 square inches it is a little smaller than the 22-inch models here.
Pros and cons
Pros
- Compact storage
- Drains fat as it cooks
- Easy to wash
- Established maker
Cons
- Smaller than the 22-inch picks
- Wattage not stated
- More moving parts
5. Martha Stewart 12 x 22-inch XL Electric Griddle – Dishwasher-Safe Plate and Tray

Martha Stewart’s XL griddle gives you a 22 x 12-inch surface with an embedded heating element and 1,500 watts behind it. The listing calls out fajitas among the things it is sized for, along with pancakes and up to 15 eggs at once.
The coating is ceramic nonstick, described as PFAS-free. A detachable temperature probe with a dial sets the heat, and once the probe is off, both the griddle and its drip tray go in the dishwasher, according to the listing. That is the main reason to pick it over the similar-sized BELLA.
It came out in 2026, so it has a shorter record with buyers than the Presto and BELLA models. The listing does not state the temperature range or the warranty.
Why we like it
- 22 x 12-inch surface
- 1,500-watt embedded element
- Griddle and drip tray are dishwasher-safe (listing)
- PFAS-free ceramic nonstick (listing)
- Drip tray included
Key specifications
| Model | CC010836-001 |
|---|---|
| Cooking surface | 22 x 12 in |
| Power | 1,500 W |
| Heat control | Detachable probe with dial (range not stated) |
| Coating | Ceramic nonstick, PFAS-free (listing) |
| Grease and serving | Drip tray |
| Cleaning | Griddle and tray dishwasher-safe |
| Warranty | Not stated |
Why we recommend it
It suits a busy household that wants a full-size griddle it can put straight in the dishwasher after breakfast.
Skip it if your dishwasher is small. A 22-inch plate takes a lot of rack space, and you may end up washing it by hand anyway.
Pros and cons
Pros
- Dishwasher-safe plate and tray
- Large surface
- 1,500W heating
- PFAS-free coating
Cons
- New model, short track record
- Range and warranty not stated
- Large for small dishwashers
6. BLACK+DECKER Family-Size Electric Griddle with Warming Tray – Keeps Food Hot Underneath

BLACK+DECKER’s GD2051B has a 10 x 20-inch cooking area (200 square inches, per BLACK+DECKER), which the maker rates at eight servings. Its distinguishing feature sits underneath: a slide-out warming tray where finished food stays hot while you cook the next batch.
That tray is useful when you are cooking for a crowd: pancakes, quesadillas or warmed tortillas go into it as they come off, so everything reaches the table at once. Grease drains into a separate removable drip tray.
Heat comes from a 1,500-watt element controlled by a Click & Lock removable probe with an adjustable knob. The surface is nonstick; the listing does not say which type of coating.
Why we like it
- 10 x 20-inch cooking area (BLACK+DECKER)
- Slide-out warming tray
- Separate removable drip tray
- 1,500 watts
- Click & Lock removable probe
Key specifications
| Model | GD2051B |
|---|---|

| Heat control | Removable Click & Lock probe (range not stated) |
| Coating | Nonstick (type not stated) |
| Grease and serving | Drip tray plus slide-out warming tray |
| Cleaning | Not stated |
| Warranty | Not stated |
Why we recommend it
It suits family breakfasts and taco nights where the cook wants to serve everything hot at once, without a separate warming oven.
Skip it if you want the biggest surface. At 10 x 20 inches it is smaller than the 22-inch griddles here.
Pros and cons
Pros
- Built-in warming tray
- Separate drip tray
- Simple probe control
- Well-known brand
Cons
- Smaller surface
- Coating type not stated
- Cleaning and warranty details not in listing

7. Blue Diamond 20-inch XL Electric Griddle – Ceramic Surface With a Warming Drawer

Blue Diamond’s XL griddle pairs a 10.5 x 20-inch cooking area with a built-in warming drawer, so it does the same job as the BLACK+DECKER but with a ceramic nonstick coating that Blue Diamond describes as PFAS-free.
One knob controls the temperature, a removable drip tray collects grease, and side handles make it easy to carry from counter to table. The listing does not state the wattage, temperature range or warranty, so those are left as not stated below.
Ceramic coatings release food well when new, but they last longest with low to medium heat, a little oil, and wooden or silicone tools. Treat this one the same way.
Why we like it
- 10.5 x 20-inch cooking area
- Built-in warming drawer
- PFAS-free ceramic nonstick (listing)
- Removable drip tray
- Carry handles
Key specifications
| Model | CC008743-001 |
|---|---|
| Cooking surface | 10.5 x 20 in |
| Power | Not stated |
| Heat control | One-knob control (range not stated) |
| Coating | Ceramic nonstick, PFAS-free (listing) |
| Grease and serving | Drip tray plus warming drawer |
| Cleaning | Wipe-clean (listing) |
| Warranty | Not stated |
Why we recommend it
It suits a cook who wants a ceramic surface and a place to keep food hot, in one plug-in unit.
Skip it if you need stated specs. The listing leaves out wattage, temperature range and warranty.
Pros and cons
Pros
- Warming drawer
- Ceramic coating
- Drip tray
- Easy to carry
Cons
- Wattage and range not stated
- Warranty not stated
- Smaller than 22-inch models
8. Chefman XL 10 x 20-inch Electric Griddle – Simple, Washable and Inexpensive

Chefman’s XL griddle is the plain, low-cost way into a 10 x 20-inch surface. The listing gives a 1,500-watt, 120-volt element with a removable temperature control that sets anything from 200 to 420°F, the only stated range among the home griddles on this page.
A slide-out drip tray collects grease, and once the control is removed the griddle is fully immersible and dishwasher-safe, according to Chefman. The surface is nonstick; the listing does not name the coating.
Chefman states UL approval and a one-year warranty. The 420°F top setting is lower than some griddles reach, which matters for a hard sear on steak but not for pancakes, eggs, quesadillas or warming tortillas.
Why we like it
- 10 x 20-inch surface
- Stated 200–420°F range
- Immersible and dishwasher-safe (Chefman)
- UL approved (listing)
- Slide-out drip tray
Key specifications
| Model | RJ23-LG-V3 |
|---|---|
| Cooking surface | 10 x 20 in |
| Power | 1,500 W, 120 V |
| Heat control | Removable control, 200–420°F |
| Coating | Nonstick (type not stated) |
| Grease and serving | Slide-out drip tray |
| Cleaning | Immersible, dishwasher-safe |
| Warranty | 1 year |
Why we recommend it
It suits a first XL griddle for pancakes, eggs and quesadillas, or a second griddle for holidays, on a small budget.
Skip it if you want a hard sear on steak. The 420°F maximum is lower than the hottest griddles.
Pros and cons
Pros
- Clear temperature range
- Dishwasher-safe
- UL approved
- Low cost
Cons
- Lower top temperature
- Coating type not stated
- Smaller than 22-inch models
How to choose an extra-large griddle
Once you are past 10 x 20 inches, the questions change a little from a regular griddle. These are the ones that matter for a family-size model.
1. Real cooking surface, not overall size
Makers quote different numbers: some give the cooking surface (Presto’s 22 x 13 inches), some the square inches (Blackstone’s 312), and some the size of the whole unit. Compare cooking surface only. A 10 x 20-inch surface is 200 square inches; 22 x 12 is 264; 22 x 13 is 286.
2. Power and heat spread
Most XL griddles use 1,500 to 1,600 watts, about as much as a standard 15-amp outlet allows. Spread over a larger plate, that means the edges can run cooler than the center. Preheat fully, keep the hottest jobs in the middle, and do not run a toaster or kettle on the same circuit. Two-zone models like the Blackstone let you set the ends separately.
3. Grease handling
A full pound of bacon or chorizo produces a lot of fat. Look for a drip tray that slides out, a channel at the back like Blackstone’s, or a tilting surface like Presto’s Tilt-N-Fold.
4. Coating
Most of these griddles use ceramic nonstick, and several makers describe theirs as PFAS-free. Ceramic coatings release food well, but makers generally advise against metal utensils and very high heat. Blackstone says its E-Series is not for metal tools at all.
5. Storage and cleaning
A 22-inch griddle is awkward in a sink and big for a dishwasher. Check whether the plate is immersible once the control comes off (Presto, Chefman), dishwasher-safe (Martha Stewart, Chefman), or slim and foldable for storage (Presto Slimline and Tilt-N-Fold).

How we picked these eight griddles
We looked for plug-in griddles with at least 200 square inches of stated cooking surface from established small-appliance makers, in stock on Amazon when we checked, and left out the models already reviewed in our main electric griddle guide. We took sizes, power and features from the makers’ Amazon listings and the BLACK+DECKER site, and mark makers’ own claims as theirs. Some extra-large models were left out because they were in short supply (Elite Gourmet’s 10 x 20-inch ceramic, GreenLife’s 20-inch) or come from Amazon-only sellers. We have not cooked on these griddles, and we do not state prices. We checked the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission’s recall listings for these brands and found no recall of any griddle on this page.
XL griddle questions, answered
What size is an XL electric griddle?
Usually 10 x 20 inches (200 square inches) up to about 12 x 22 or 13 x 22 inches. Anything larger tends to be a two-plate or outdoor unit rather than a single countertop griddle.
Is a 22-inch griddle too big for one outlet?
No. The 22-inch griddles here are rated at about 1,500 to 1,600 watts, within what a standard 120-volt, 15-amp kitchen outlet supplies. Avoid sharing that circuit with another heating appliance while you cook.
Can you cook fajitas and tortillas on an electric griddle?
Yes. Sliced steak or chicken and peppers cook well on the hottest part of the plate, and tortillas warm at the cooler edge or in a warming tray. For the sizzle of a restaurant plate, finish the meat in a hot cast iron skillet. Our guide on how to eat fajitas covers the rest.
Is a griddle better than an electric skillet for a crowd?
For flat foods, yes: pancakes, eggs, bacon, quesadillas and tortillas. An electric skillet is better for anything saucy or deep. See our guides to the best electric skillet and the best electric skillet with a lid.
Do XL griddles heat evenly?
Makers rarely give figures, and a large plate on a standard outlet can run cooler at the corners. Preheat fully and test with a few drops of water or one small pancake before loading the whole surface.
Our final pick for family-size cooking
Choose the Presto 22-inch Slimline for the most surface in the slimmest body, the Blackstone if you want two zones and a hood, and the Presto Tilt-N-Fold if cabinet space decides it. The BELLA and Martha Stewart 22-inch griddles are good alternatives, the BLACK+DECKER and Blue Diamond add a warming tray, and the Chefman is the budget pick.
For a griddle that sits over two burners instead of plugging in, see the best pancake griddle pan, and for a single comal for tortillas, the best comal for tortillas.
And if you would rather someone else cooked for the crowd tonight, see the menu or call to order.
