Wall Mount or Folding Arm? The Best Pot Filler Faucet for Big Pots

Seven wall-mount pot fillers from Kraus, Kohler, Moen, Kingston Brass and KES, with reach, flow rate, lead-free statements and an install note.

A bright white kitchen with a stainless range under a stainless steel hood and a window beside it
A range against a tiled wall, the spot where a pot filler is mounted.

A pot of pozole, a tamale steamer or a big batch of frijoles de la olla starts with several gallons of water, and carrying that much from the sink to the stove is slow, heavy and splashy. A pot filler puts a folding spout on the wall behind the range, so you fill the pot where it already sits and only ever lift it once it is cooked.

This guide covers seven pot fillers from Kraus, Kohler, Kingston Brass, Moen and KES, wall-mounted and folding, with the reach, flow rate and lead-free statement each maker or listing gives. We also explain why a pot filler is a plumbing job first and a shopping job second.

Quick verdict: which pot filler to buy

For most kitchens, the best pot filler faucet is the Kraus Bolden Wall-Mount Pot Filler: a double-jointed arm that reaches 23-5/8 inches, a 4.0 gpm flow, two shutoff levers so it cannot drip onto a hot burner, and a Kraus statement that it is certified to NSF/ANSI 61 and 372. For the fastest fill and a single lever, choose the Kohler Contemporary Wall-Mount Pot Filler. If you are replacing the sink faucet at the same time, the Moen pot filler and Align faucet set gives you both in one matching finish.

A pot filler only earns its place if you cook in big pots. If yours is still on the shopping list, start with our guide to the best 20-quart stock pot, then come back here.

Our picks for the best pot filler faucet

All seven are wall-mounted, folding pot fillers for a home range, from makers you can identify and contact. Most connect to cold water only, which is how pot fillers are normally plumbed. Each pick explains who it suits and gives one honest reason to skip it.

1. Kraus Bolden Wall-Mount Pot Filler, Matte Black – Two Levers, No Drips

Best overallKRAUS Matte Black 21.5 in 2 Handle Wall Mount Pot Filler KPF-5003MB

The Bolden is a plain modern pot filler with the details that matter written down. Kraus lists a faucet height of 10-3/8 inches, a double-jointed swing arm that reaches 23-5/8 inches when fully extended, and a 4.0 gpm flow rate, which Kraus says fills a large pot about twice as fast as a standard kitchen faucet. The arm folds flat against the wall when you are done.

It uses two levers, one at the wall and one near the spout, and both have to be open before water flows. That is the safer design for a pot filler: a bumped lever cannot dribble onto a hot burner, and with the arm stretched out over a back burner you can control the flow from the spout end without leaning over the flame.

On lead, Kraus’s product page lists cUPC (ASME A112.18.1/CSA B125.1), NSF/ANSI Standard 61 and 372 certified by IAPMO, and California’s AB1953. The body is lead-free brass with a ceramic cartridge, and Kraus backs it with a lifetime limited warranty. It connects to a cold-water supply only, through a single hole in the wall.

Why we like it

  • NSF/ANSI 61 and 372 certified by IAPMO, per Kraus
  • Two levers must both be open, so it will not drip by accident
  • 23-5/8-inch extended reach covers a standard range
  • Lifetime limited warranty

Key specifications

Controls Two levers
Water supply Cold only
Lead-free statement NSF/ANSI 61 and 372, certified by IAPMO (Kraus)
Warranty Lifetime limited

Why we recommend it

Choose it if you want a pot filler with clear certification, a reach that covers four burners and a two-lever design that keeps water off a lit stove.

Skip it if you want the very fastest fill; the Kohler below is rated higher.

Pros and cons

Pros

  • Clear NSF/ANSI 61 and 372 statement
  • Spill-resistant two-lever design
  • Also sold in stainless, brushed brass and bronze finishes

Cons

  • Needs two hands or two steps to turn on
  • Matte black shows hard-water spots

2. Kohler Contemporary Wall-Mount Pot Filler, Vibrant Stainless – The Fastest Fill Here

Fastest fillKOHLER 35745-VS Contemporary Style Wall-Mount Pot Filler Kitchen Faucets

Kohler rates this pot filler at 5.2 gallons per minute at 60 psi, the highest flow of any pick on this page. For a 20-quart pot, that is the difference between waiting by the stove and getting on with the onions. The articulating spout rotates 360 degrees, and the Amazon listing gives a 23-1/4-inch swing spout reach.

It runs on a single lever with what Kohler calls a main lever shutoff, and uses Kohler’s ceramic disc valves. One lever is quicker to use than two, though it gives you one less line of defense against a drip. The Vibrant Stainless finish is easier to keep clean than black or gold, and Kohler also sells the same pot filler in chrome, polished nickel, French gold, brushed bronze, matte black, brushed moderne brass and titanium.

Kohler’s current spec sheet lists ASME A112.18.1/CSA B125.1 under codes and standards and a lifetime limited warranty. It did not list NSF/ANSI 61 or 372 when we read it, so we do not claim them for this model. The spec sheet’s technical table lists a 7-inch spout reach that does not match the listing’s swing figure, so measure your range and confirm with Kohler before you buy.

Why we like it

  • 5.2 gpm maximum flow at 60 psi, per Kohler
  • Spout rotates 360 degrees
  • Kohler ceramic disc valves
  • Lifetime limited warranty

Key specifications

Lead-free statement Not listed on current spec sheet (ASME A112.18.1/CSA B125.1 listed)

Why we recommend it

Choose it if you fill big pots often and want the fastest flow and a single lever from a long-established fixture maker.

Skip it if a written NSF/ANSI 61 or 372 statement is a must for you; Kraus gives one and Kohler’s current sheet does not.

Pros and cons

Pros

  • Highest stated flow on this page
  • Eight finishes to match other fixtures
  • One lever, quick to use

Cons

  • No NSF 61 or 372 on the current spec sheet
  • Reach figures differ between sheet and listing
  • Sold on Amazon through a third-party retailer

3. Moen Pot Filler and Align Kitchen Faucet Set, Spot Resist Stainless – One Finish for Both

Best matching setMoen Spot Resist Stainless Wall Mount Pot Filler and Align Kitchen Faucet

If you are remodeling and replacing the sink faucet anyway, this Amazon bundle pairs Moen’s S665SRS wall-mount pot filler with its Align pull-down kitchen faucet (7565SRS), both in Moen’s Spot Resist Stainless. The listing describes a double-jointed swing arm that reaches over the cooktop and folds flat against the wall, and an Align faucet with Moen’s Power Clean spray and Reflex docking.

The S665 pot filler is one of the models Bob Vila’s pot filler roundup by Savannah Sher includes, noting its double joints and a two-handle design that saves reaching over a hot surface. When we checked, the pot filler on its own was in short supply on Amazon, so this set was the in-stock way to buy it.

The listing does not give a reach, flow rate or lead-free statement, and we could not open Moen’s product page to confirm them, so the table below says “Not stated” rather than guess. Both pieces carry Moen’s limited lifetime warranty, according to the listing.

Why we like it

  • Pot filler and kitchen faucet in one matching finish
  • Double-jointed arm folds flat, per the listing
  • Same Spot Resist Stainless finish on both pieces
  • Moen limited lifetime warranty

Key specifications

Mount Wall (pot filler)
Reach Not stated
Flow rate Not stated
Controls Two handles (Bob Vila)

Lead-free statement Not stated on listing
Warranty Limited lifetime

Why we recommend it

Choose it if you are replacing both the sink faucet and adding a pot filler and want them to match without hunting for two listings.

Skip it if you only need the pot filler; you would be paying for a kitchen faucet you may not want.

Pros and cons

Pros

  • Matching finish across sink and range
  • Well-known maker with US support
  • Includes a full pull-down faucet

Cons

  • Listing gives no reach or flow figures
  • No lead-free statement on the listing
  • Bundle only; not for a pot filler alone

4. Kingston Brass Concord Wall-Mount Pot Filler, Brushed Nickel – Long Reach in Solid Brass

Best long reachKingston Brass KS4108DL Concord Wall Mount Pot Filler

The Concord is Kingston Brass’s clean, modern pot filler. The listing gives a double-jointed swivel spout that extends up to 23-11/16 inches, solid brass construction and a drip-free ceramic disc cartridge, which is the part that decides whether a pot filler weeps onto the stovetop after a few years.

Flow is 3.8 gpm at 60 psi, a little under the Kraus and Kohler but still around twice a typical kitchen faucet. It installs through a single hole in the wall. The brushed nickel finish hides fingerprints better than polished chrome, which matters on a fixture that lives in the splash zone of a range.

The Amazon listing does not state a lead-free certification, and we could not open Kingston Brass’s product page to check. All new faucets sold in the US must meet the federal lead-free limit, but if you want a named certification in writing, ask Kingston Brass before you buy or choose the Kraus.

Why we like it

  • Extends up to 23-11/16 inches
  • Solid brass body
  • Drip-free ceramic disc cartridge
  • 3.8 gpm at 60 psi

Why we recommend it

Choose it if you want a long, double-jointed arm in solid brass from an established fixture maker, in a brushed nickel that suits most kitchens.

Pros and cons

Pros

  • Long reach for wide ranges
  • Solid brass and ceramic disc
  • Sold by Amazon

5. KES Stainless Steel Pot Filler, Matte Black – A Long Arm and a Heat-Resistant Cartridge

Longest armKES Pot Filler Faucet with Heat-Resistant Cartridge

KES sells mainly online, and this pot filler is built around one practical worry: heat. KES says the cartridge is designed to stand up to the direct heat from the cooktop below, which is exactly where a pot filler lives. The 360-degree swing arm extends 25.6 inches, the longest on this page, far enough that KES suggests it can also reach a coffee maker beside the range.

The body is 18/8 (304) stainless steel rather than brass, which KES describes as drinking-water grade and lead-free. KES does not name a certifier for that claim on the listing, so treat it as the maker’s own statement. It fits a standard 1/2-inch NPT connection and comes with a drill-free escutcheon, gloves and the tools for installation, according to the listing. KES advises turning off both handles when it is not in use.

The warranty is more detailed than most: KES lists a limited lifetime warranty on leaks from the faucet body, valve body or cartridge for the original owner in the home where it was installed, three years for other leaks and one year for the finish. Bob Vila’s roundup also includes a KES pot filler.

Why we like it

  • 25.6-inch extension, the longest here
  • Cartridge designed for heat from the cooktop, per KES
  • Installation tools in the box
  • Lifetime leak warranty for the original homeowner

Key specifications

Model KES KN926S24LFF18-BK
Mount Wall, single hole, 1/2 in. NPT
Reach 25.6 in. extension
Flow rate Not stated
Controls Two handles
Water supply Not stated
Lead-free statement Lead-free 304 stainless (KES; no certifier named)
Warranty Lifetime on body and cartridge leaks (original owner); 3 years other leaks; 1 year finish

Why we recommend it

Choose it if your range is wide or deep and you want the longest arm, a stainless body and a clear leak warranty.

Skip it if you want a stated flow rate or an independent certification on paper.

Pros and cons

Pros

  • Longest reach on this page
  • Stainless body, no plating to wear through
  • Detailed leak warranty

Cons

  • No flow rate stated
  • Lead-free claim has no named certifier
  • Online-first brand with less retail support

6. Kraus Oletto Wall-Mount Pot Filler – A Taller Spout for Tall Pots

Tallest spoutKRAUS Oletto Pot Filler Faucet with Retractable Arm

The Oletto is Kraus’s pot filler with a taller body: the listing gives a height of 11-1/2 inches, against 10-3/8 inches for the Bolden, which gives a little more clearance over a tall stockpot or a tamale steamer with its lid off. Reach is 21-1/2 inches when extended, and flow is the same 4.0 gpm.

Like the Bolden, it has a dual-jointed arm that folds against the wall, two levers that must both be open, a lead-free brass body, a ceramic cartridge and an easy-clean aerator, and it connects to cold water only. The listing repeats Kraus’s line-wide statement that all Kraus faucets comply with lead-free legislation. It is designed to pair with Kraus’s Oletto pull-down kitchen faucet, sold separately.

One caution: the listing’s title says brushed brass, while its model number (KPF-5001SFACB) and color field say antique champagne bronze. Check the photo and model on the listing before you order so the finish is the one you expect.

Why we like it

  • 11-1/2-inch height for tall pots
  • 4.0 gpm flow
  • Two levers stop accidental drips
  • Kraus states lead-free compliance for all its faucets

Key specifications

Model Kraus Oletto KPF-5001SFACB
Mount Wall, single hole
Reach 21-1/2 in. extended
Flow rate 4.0 gpm
Controls Two levers
Water supply Cold only
Lead-free statement Complies with lead-free legislation (Kraus, line-wide)
Warranty Not stated on listing

Why we recommend it

Choose it if you cook in tall pots and want a warm metallic finish with the same safe two-lever design as the Bolden.

Skip it if your range is deep; its reach is about two inches shorter than the Bolden’s.

Pros and cons

Pros

  • Most clearance under the spout
  • Spot-free finish resists water marks, per Kraus
  • Matches the Oletto kitchen faucet

Cons

  • Shorter reach than the Bolden
  • Finish named inconsistently on the listing

7. Kingston Brass Lever-Handle Pot Filler, Polished Chrome – A Traditional Look

Best traditional styleKingston Brass KS3101AL Pot Filler

For an older house or a classic tiled kitchen, this Kingston Brass pot filler has a traditional shape and a metal lever handle in polished chrome. The listing gives a maximum spout reach of 20 inches and a spout height of 8-1/8 inches, so it suits a standard 30-inch range better than a wide professional one.

It is solid brass with a drip-free ceramic disc cartridge, a standard 1/2-inch NPT connection and a single-hole wall mount, and flow is 3.8 gpm at 60 psi. Kingston Brass sells the same model in other finishes, including polished brass and brushed nickel.

As with the Concord, the listing gives no lead-free certification or warranty, and we could not open the maker’s page. Ask Kingston Brass for the certification if you want it in writing.

Why we like it

  • Traditional shape with a metal lever
  • Solid brass and ceramic disc cartridge
  • 3.8 gpm at 60 psi
  • Standard 1/2-inch NPT connection

How to choose a pot filler for your range

Start with the plumbing, not the faucet

A wall-mount pot filler needs a water line run inside the wall behind the range, usually cold water only, ending in a fitting at the height the maker’s instructions call for. On a new build or a remodel with the wall open, that is a small job. On a finished, tiled wall, it means opening the wall. In most places a licensed plumber should do it, and some areas require a permit; check your local code first. Fit a shutoff valve where you can reach it, so a worn cartridge never means turning off water to the house.

Reach: measure your back burners

The spout has to reach the centre of every burner you use for big pots, usually the back ones. Measure from the wall to the far edge of the front burners on your range. Every pick here lists between 20 and 25.6 inches of reach; a 36-inch professional range wants the longer arms, such as the KES, Kraus Bolden or Kingston Concord.

Flow rate: what you gain

Pot fillers flow faster than kitchen faucets, which are usually limited to lower rates for water saving. The picks here run from 3.8 to 5.2 gpm where stated. At those rates a large stockpot fills quickly, and without the strain of carrying it.

A white subway-tiled kitchen wall above a counter with a plant in a blue vase
Glazed tile is easy to wipe down in the splash zone behind a cooktop.

One lever or two

Two-lever pot fillers, like the Kraus and KES models, need both valves open before water runs. That protects against a drip or a bumped handle over a lit burner. A single lever, like the Kohler, is quicker but relies on that one valve. Whichever you choose, close the valves fully after each use.

Lead-free and certification

A pot filler delivers drinking and cooking water, so the same lead rules apply as for a kitchen faucet. The EPA’s lead-free rule limits lead to a weighted average of 0.25 percent across the wetted surfaces of fixtures. Makers often go further and certify to NSF/ANSI 61 and 372. Kraus states that certification for the Bolden; for the others we list exactly what the maker or listing says, and say so when it says nothing.

Finish and splash zone

The wall behind a range gets grease and steam. Stainless and brushed finishes hide spots best; matte black and polished chrome show them. Match the pot filler to your kitchen faucet if you can see both at once.

How we chose these seven pot fillers

We searched Amazon’s catalogue for wall-mount and deck-mount pot fillers and kept only listings that were in stock with a new offer when we checked, from makers we could identify. We read each maker’s product page or spec sheet where we could open it (Kraus and Kohler), and used the Amazon listing for the rest, saying so in each review. We read Bob Vila’s pot filler roundup by Savannah Sher, which lists products but does not describe testing. We checked the Consumer Product Safety Commission’s recall database by brand and found no pot filler recalls for these makers.

We have not installed or used these pot fillers ourselves. Many well-known pot fillers from Delta, Moen (sold alone), Pfister, hansgrohe and American Standard were in short supply on Amazon when we checked, so we left them out rather than send you to a listing that may not ship. We also left out a commercial deck-mounted pot filler assembly built for restaurant kitchens, and online-only brands that gave no clear lead-free statement.

Pot filler questions, answered

Is a wall mount stove faucet worth it?

It is worth it if you regularly cook in big pots for stock, beans, pasta, tamales or pozole, and especially if you are remodeling with the wall open. If you rarely use a pot bigger than a few quarts, the plumbing cost is hard to justify.

Do pot fillers use hot water?

Many are designed for cold water only; Kraus says so for its models, and the listings for several others here do not say either way. Starting a pot with cold water is normal practice, since it heats on the stove anyway.

Can I install a pot filler myself?

Fitting the faucet itself is simple. Running a new water line inside the wall is not, and many areas require a licensed plumber or a permit. Check your local code and the maker’s installation instructions first.

Will a pot filler leak onto my stove?

Any faucet can drip as its cartridge wears. Two-lever designs make an accidental drip less likely, ceramic disc cartridges are built to resist wear, and a shutoff valve behind the wall lets you fix a leak without turning off the house water.

What about a deck-mounted pot filler?

Deck-mounted pot fillers sit on the counter beside a cooktop and draw water from below, which avoids opening the wall. Home models from identifiable makers were in short supply on Amazon when we checked, so none made this list.

Our final pick for filling big pots

Buy the Kraus Bolden if you want a pot filler with clear NSF/ANSI 61 and 372 certification, long reach and a two-lever design that keeps water off a hot burner. Choose the Kohler for the fastest flow, the Moen set if you are replacing the sink faucet too, or the KES if your range is wide. For the sink side of the kitchen, see our guide to the best kitchen faucet, and for the wall above the range, the best wall mount range hood.

A pot filler pays off on tamale day. Read what tamales are and how they are steamed, or skip the big pot entirely: see our menu and call to order.
