In a restaurant kitchen the silicone spatula never stays in the drawer. It scrapes the last of the salsa out of the blender jar, stirs a pot of refried beans without scratching it, folds whipped cream into a batter and pulls every bit of a sauce out of a pan. A good one is stiff enough to push through thick dough and flexible enough at the edge to wipe a bowl clean.
The differences between silicone spatulas are small on paper and obvious in use: one-piece or two-piece, how stiff the core is, how big the head is and how much heat the maker says it can take. This guide sorts those out and names nine worth buying, from Di Oro, OXO, Rubbermaid, U-Taste, Tovolo, StarPack, GIR and Le Creuset.

Quick verdict: which silicone spatula to buy
The best silicone spatula for most kitchens is the OXO Good Grips Silicone Everyday Spatula: a seamless silicone head with flexible edges over a nylon core, a handle that stays rigid to the end, and a co-winner of America’s Test Kitchen’s silicone spatula review. ATK’s other co-winner, Di Oro’s large spatula, was out of stock when we checked; the Di Oro Pro 14-inch Seamless Spatula, which Di Oro describes as a bigger version of it, is the pick for deep pots. For big batches, a Rubbermaid Commercial high-heat scraper is the restaurant standard.

Our picks for the best silicone spatula
These nine cover the shapes and builds a kitchen actually uses: one-piece all-rounders, a long-handled commercial scraper, a spoonula for pots, a small stiff spatula, a wood-handled option and a set. Each pick lists construction, core, stated heat limit and care, plus one honest reason to skip it.
1. OXO Good Grips Silicone Everyday Spatula – Rigid Handle for Thick Dough

OXO’s Everyday Spatula is the other co-winner of ATK’s review. Testers found it flexible enough to cleanly scrape the sides of a mixing bowl but rigid enough to stir heaps of mix-ins into dense cookie dough, and it came through ATK’s durability tests with no dents or melting. Large-handed testers especially liked the long handle, which ATK says is rigid all the way to the end.
OXO describes polished, beveled flexible edges and a sturdy nylon core under a soft, non-slip silicone grip; ATK lists the core as glass-filled nylon, the handle at 8.25 inches and the head at about 4.25 by 2.125 inches. The silicone exterior is seamless, and the listing calls it safe for nonstick cookware and the dishwasher. OXO’s listing does not give a heat limit in degrees.
ATK’s testers were split on one detail: the front edge is slanted. Some found it awkward for stirring scrambled eggs; others found it handy for swiping batter out of a bowl.
Why we like it
- Co-winner of ATK’s silicone spatula review.
- Handle rigid to the end, per ATK.
- Beveled, flexible edges, per OXO.
- Dishwasher safe.

Why we recommend it
It suits bakers who stir stiff doughs and cooks with larger hands who want a longer, fully supported handle.
Skip it if you want a stated heat limit on the box; OXO’s listing does not give one, while the Di Oro below states 600°F.
Pros and cons
Pros
- Stiff enough for dense dough, per ATK.
- Comfortable long handle.
- No melting or dents in ATK’s heat test.
Cons
- Slanted edge is not for everyone, per ATK.

2. Di Oro Pro 14-inch Seamless Silicone Spatula – A Longer Take on ATK’s Co-Winner

Di Oro’s large spatula, the other co-winner of America’s Test Kitchen’s silicone spatula review, showed as out of stock when we last checked. Di Oro’s Pro 14-inch spatula is the in-stock way into the same design: Di Oro describes it as a bigger version of its award-winning large spatula, built for big pots, big batches and canning.
Like the large, it is one seamless piece of silicone, with no joint between head and handle for food or dishwater to hide in. The listing rates it to 600°F and calls it dishwasher safe. ATK’s praise was for the large spatula, not this longer one, and Di Oro’s listing does not give the head size or say what the core is made of.
At 14 inches it reaches the bottom of a deep pot of beans or a stockpot of pozole without putting your knuckles over the steam, and it gives you more leverage in a big bowl of masa or batter.
Why we like it
- A larger version of ATK’s co-winning design, per Di Oro.
- One-piece seamless build.
- Rated to 600°F, per Di Oro.
- Dishwasher safe.
Key specifications
| Model | DOL-SS-021 (red) |
|---|---|

Why we recommend it
It suits cooks who work in deep pots and large bowls and want Di Oro’s seamless build with more reach.
Skip it if you want one everyday spatula for bowls, skillets and jars; 14 inches is a lot of tool for small jobs, and the OXO above handles those better.
Pros and cons
Pros
- Long reach for deep pots.
- Seamless, easy to clean and dry.
- High stated heat limit.
Cons
- Not the size ATK tested.
- Core and head size not stated.

3. Rubbermaid Commercial High Heat Scraper, 9.5-inch – The Restaurant Workhorse

America’s Test Kitchen calls Rubbermaid’s high-heat scraper a staple in professional kitchens. This is the 9.5-inch version: a silicone blade on a cool-touch nylon handle, rated by Rubbermaid to 500°F, certified to NSF food-equipment standards and listed as commercial dishwasher safe. A raised “Clean-Rest” design keeps the blade off the counter when you set it down, and the handle has a hole for hanging.
It is a two-piece build, the head fitted onto a separate handle, which ATK generally found harder to clean than seamless spatulas. ATK did not test this size, but it named the 13.5-inch Rubbermaid its Best Large Spatula, praising the broad, flat head for folding egg whites in half the time and the long handle for deep pots, while noting it felt oversized for small bowls and measuring cups. That longer version showed only limited stock when we checked, which is why we list the 9.5-inch.
Rubbermaid’s product data gives the 9.5-inch blade a width of about 2.25 inches, a size that fits a blender jar or a quart container.
Why we like it
- Rated to 500°F, per Rubbermaid.
- NSF certified and commercial dishwasher safe.
- Clean-Rest design keeps the blade off the counter.
- ATK’s Best Large Spatula is the 13.5-inch sibling.
Key specifications
| Model | FG1962000000 |
|---|---|
| Construction | Two-piece (silicone blade, nylon handle) |
| Heat limit (stated) | 500°F |
| Head size | About 2.25 in wide; length not stated |
| Core | None stated; nylon handle |
| Dishwasher-safe | Yes, commercial dishwasher |
| Pieces | 1 |
Why we recommend it
It suits busy home cooks and anyone who wants the professional-kitchen pattern ATK describes, in a size that still fits small containers.
Skip it if you want a one-piece spatula with nowhere for water to collect.
Pros and cons
Pros
- Cool-touch handle.
- Stain-resistant, flexible blade, per Rubbermaid.
- Also sold in 13.5 and 16.5-inch lengths.
Cons
- Two-piece build is harder to clean, per ATK’s findings on such designs.
- Hard nylon handle is less cushioned than silicone.
4. StarPack Silicone Spoonula, 11-inch – Part Spoon, Part Spatula

A spoonula has a shallow, cupped head: it scrapes like a spatula but also scoops and serves like a spoon. That makes it the better tool for a pot of beans, rice or picadillo, where you want to stir, scrape the bottom and then spoon it out.
StarPack’s 11-inch All-Rounder is one seamless piece of silicone molded over a reinforced internal core. StarPack rates the silicone to 600°F, lists it as dishwasher safe and says it is safe on nonstick, ceramic, stainless steel and cast iron cookware. The listing describes a firm handle and a flexible edge, and says the silicone is certified to European LFGB food-contact standards and made with Wacker silicone. It does not state the head dimensions or the core material.
ATK did not test this spoonula. It did test StarPack’s Scrape & Stir flat spatula and recommended it only with reservations, finding its edges thin and overly flexible, so we cannot assume that verdict carries over to a different shape.
Why we like it
- Scoops, stirs and scrapes in one tool.
- One-piece seamless build, per StarPack.
- Rated to 600°F, per StarPack.
- Dishwasher safe.
Key specifications
| Model | Starpack0315 (sage green) |
|---|---|
| Construction | One-piece |
| Heat limit (stated) | 600°F |
| Head size | Not stated (11 in overall) |
| Core | Reinforced; material not stated |
| Dishwasher-safe | Yes |
| Pieces | 1 |
Why we recommend it
It suits cooks who mostly stir and serve from pots and want one tool that does both.
Skip it if you mainly scrape bowls and fold batter; a flat spatula reaches corners better.
Pros and cons
Pros
- Cupped head scoops as well as scrapes.
- Seamless and dishwasher safe.
- Several colors.
Cons
- No independent review of this model found.
- Head size and core material not stated.
5. U-Taste Large Silicone Spatula – Straight Edge for Eggs

U-Taste’s large spatula was recommended in America’s Test Kitchen’s silicone spatula review. Testers found the handle comfortable and the fairly straight top edge quick and easy for stirring scrambled eggs; it was easy to clean and held up to high heat with no melting or dents. ATK measured the head at about 3.5 by 2.25 inches.
U-Taste describes an integrated, one-piece design with no cracks for food to hide in, silicone rated to 600°F, a core that is firm up to the center of the head and softer toward the edges, and one straight side and one curved side for scraping bowls and pans. It is 11.38 inches long and dishwasher safe, per the listing.
ATK’s reservations were mild: the outer edge was a touch stiffer than it likes, so it did not scrape quite as cleanly as the winners, and the head could be a little bigger for folding.
Why we like it
- Recommended in ATK’s silicone spatula review.
- Straight edge for stirring eggs, per ATK.
- Rated to 600°F, per U-Taste.
- One straight and one curved side.
Key specifications
| Model | EUST01-L-MB (midnight blue) |
|---|---|
| Construction | One-piece |
| Heat limit (stated) | 600°F |
| Head size | About 3.5 x 2.25 in (ATK) |
| Core | Reinforced; material not stated by U-Taste |
| Dishwasher-safe | Yes |
| Pieces | 1 |
Why we recommend it
It suits cooks who use a silicone spatula mostly in the skillet, for eggs and sauces, and want a straight edge that meets the pan flat.
Skip it if folding egg whites or big batters is your main job; ATK wanted a slightly bigger head for that.
Pros and cons
Pros
- Comfortable handle, per ATK.
- No melting in ATK’s heat test.
- Seamless and dishwasher safe.
Cons
- Edge slightly stiff for scraping, per ATK.
- Smaller head for folding.

6. Tovolo Flex-Core Silicone Spatula – Square Corners for Straight-Sided Pans

Tovolo’s Flex-Core spatula is all silicone, molded over a nylon core, with edges Tovolo says are tapered to sharp points and square corners that fit into the edges of mixing bowls. The listing gives it as 12.75 inches long and 2.5 inches wide, rates the silicone to 600°F and calls it dishwasher safe.
America’s Test Kitchen recommended a Tovolo Flex-Core spatula in its silicone review (its listed model number differs slightly from this charcoal listing’s). It liked the single seamless piece of silicone, the head’s rigidity for thick dough and the straight sides that scraped bowls efficiently. It docked it for struggling in the tight corners of a saucepan, for two small nicks in its food-processor test, and for a handle some large-handed testers found too slender.
That profile suits baking: square-sided cake pans, stand mixer bowls and loaf pans, where flat sides and sharp corners collect every bit of batter.
Why we like it
- Recommended in ATK’s silicone spatula review.
- Square corners and tapered edges, per Tovolo.
- Rated to 600°F, per the listing.
- One-piece, dishwasher safe.
Key specifications
| Model | 81-16712C (charcoal) |
|---|---|
| Construction | One-piece |
| Heat limit (stated) | 600°F |
| Head size | 2.5 in wide (12.75 in overall) |
| Core | Nylon |
| Dishwasher-safe | Yes |
| Pieces | 1 |
Why we recommend it
It suits bakers who work in straight-sided bowls and pans and want a stiff head with sharp scraping corners.
Skip it if you have large hands; ATK found the handle slender.
Pros and cons
Pros
- Rigid enough for thick dough, per ATK.
- Seamless and easy to clean.
- Also sold in sets and with steel handles.
Cons
- Awkward in tight saucepan corners, per ATK.
- Slender handle, per ATK.
7. GIR Ultimate Silicone Spatula, 11-inch – Compact and Very Stiff

GIR’s Ultimate is a one-piece silicone spatula with a fiberglass core. GIR rates it to 425°F, lists it as dishwasher safe and describes it as strong enough for stiff cookie dough yet flexible enough to scrape bowls, pots, jars and food processors. GIR’s own page gives it as 11 inches long and about 1.9 inches wide.
America’s Test Kitchen gave it top marks for its seamless design and comfortable handle, but recommended it only with reservations. The head was smaller than ATK wanted for an all-purpose tool, so it took longer to stir and fold, the front edge was steeply angled, and the head was a bit rigid for scraping bowls clean. ATK measured it at about 3.75 by 1.8 inches.
Those same traits make it a reasonable second spatula: a narrow, stiff head fits into jars and small containers, and its heat limit, while lower than some, is still well above a simmering pot.
Why we like it
- Seamless, comfortable handle, per ATK.
- Narrow head reaches into jars.
- Fiberglass core, per GIR.
- Lifetime guarantee against manufacturing defects.
Key specifications
| Model | GIRSPU312SWT (studio white) |
|---|---|
| Construction | One-piece |
| Heat limit (stated) | 425°F |
| Head size | About 3.75 x 1.8 in (ATK) |
| Core | Fiberglass, per GIR |
| Dishwasher-safe | Yes |
| Pieces | 1 |
Why we recommend it
It suits cooks who want a compact, stiff spatula for jars, small bowls and thick mixtures alongside a larger all-rounder.
Skip it if it would be your only spatula; ATK found the head small and stiff for everyday stirring and folding.
Pros and cons
Pros
- Seamless design.
- Stiff head for dense mixtures.
- Many colors.
Cons
- Lower stated heat limit (425°F).
- Small, steeply angled head, per ATK.
8. Le Creuset Silicone Signature Medium Spatula – Beech Handle, Removable Head

Le Creuset’s Signature spatula pairs a silicone head with an FSC-certified beech wood handle. The handle has flat edges designed to rest on a spoon rest or a Dutch oven handle, and a cut-out for hanging. Le Creuset rates the silicone to 482°F and calls it safe on all cookware surfaces, including nonstick, and resistant to stains, odors and flavor absorption.
The head comes off: Le Creuset says the removable heads are safe in the microwave and dishwasher, while the wood handles are hand wash only. Retailers list the medium spatula at about 11.2 inches long and 2.3 inches wide. Being able to pull the head off solves the usual two-piece problem of water trapped at the joint, as long as you take it apart to wash it.
ATK did not test this Signature model. An older, wood-handled Le Creuset Revolution spatula drew strong criticism in ATK’s review, so we would not lean on Le Creuset’s name alone; buy this one for the wood handle and the removable head.
Why we like it
- Removable, dishwasher-safe head, per Le Creuset.
- Beech handle rests on a pot rim, per Le Creuset.
- Rated to 482°F.
Key specifications
| Model | 42073000010005 (white) |
|---|---|
| Construction | Two-piece (removable head, wood handle) |
| Heat limit (stated) | 482°F |
| Head size | Not stated (about 11.2 x 2.3 in overall, per retailers) |
| Core | Beech wood handle |
| Dishwasher-safe | Head yes; handle hand wash |
| Pieces | 1 |
Why we recommend it
It suits cooks who prefer a wood handle and want a spatula that sits neatly on the rim of a Dutch oven.
Skip it if you want to put the whole tool in the dishwasher without taking it apart.
Pros and cons
Pros
- Wood handle stays cool and grippy.
- Head comes off for washing.
- Several colors.
Cons
- Handle must be hand washed.
- Not tested by ATK; an older Le Creuset model was criticized.
9. Di Oro Seamless Silicone Spatula Set, 3-Piece – Three Sizes, One Build

If you want more than one spatula, Di Oro sells its seamless design as a three-piece set. The listing says each piece is a one-piece silicone spatula rated to 600°F, dishwasher safe and safe on nonstick cookware, and that each is shaped for different jobs, flexible enough to scrape bowls and strong enough for thick batter.
The set listing does not name the three sizes or confirm that each has the stainless steel core of the large spatula, so check the photos before you buy. Three matching spatulas make sense in a kitchen where one lives by the stove for sauces, one by the mixer and a small one in the drawer for jars and measuring cups.
ATK’s co-winning large Di Oro is the reason to trust the brand’s design; the other pieces in the set were not part of that review.
Why we like it
- Three seamless spatulas, per Di Oro.
- Rated to 600°F.
- All dishwasher safe.
Key specifications
| Model | DOL-SSS-003 (black) |
|---|---|
| Construction | One-piece (each) |
| Heat limit (stated) | 600°F |
| Head size | Not stated |
| Core | Not stated on the set listing |
| Dishwasher-safe | Yes |
| Pieces | 3 |
Why we recommend it
It suits kitchens that want several silicone spatulas of the same seamless build at once.
Skip it if you only need one; the large spatula alone is the tested piece.
Pros and cons
Pros
- Matching set of three.
- High stated heat limit.
- Seamless and dishwasher safe.
Cons
- Sizes and core not stated on the listing.
- Only the large spatula was in ATK’s review.
How to choose a silicone spatula
One-piece or two-piece. America’s Test Kitchen mostly preferred spatulas made from one seamless piece of silicone: they were more durable and easier to clean, with no gap where the head meets the handle. In two-piece spatulas, ATK found water could collect in the joint and drip out later, once into freshly whipped cream. Commercial two-piece scrapers are still worth having for their size and heat rating.
Head size and shape. ATK found heads of about 4 by 2½ inches the most versatile: big enough to stir and fold, small enough for small bowls and measuring cups. Its favorites had one sharp, L-shaped corner for straight-sided pots and one curved corner for round bowls.

Stiff center, flexible edge. The best heads are thick in the middle and thin at the edges, so they can push through dough and still wipe a bowl clean. Edges that are too thin curl up and get nicked by food-processor blades, according to ATK; edges that are too thick will not bend to the bowl.
Core. Inside the silicone is a frame of steel, nylon, fiberglass or stiffer silicone. A core that runs the full length of the handle gives more leverage in stiff dough; ATK noted that one co-winner’s steel core stops short of the handle’s end.
Heat limit. Makers state limits from about 425°F to 600°F. ATK rested every spatula in its lineup in a 450-degree skillet for 10 minutes and none melted or warped, and notes a silicone spatula is unlikely to see higher temperatures in everyday cooking. Treat the maker’s figure as the limit and do not leave any spatula in an empty pan on high heat.
Color. ATK found lighter heads stained more than darker ones, but a white head makes it easier to see when butter browns. Pick what matters more to you.
How we picked these nine silicone spatulas
We looked at silicone spatulas and spoonulas from Di Oro, OXO, Rubbermaid Commercial, U-Taste, Tovolo, StarPack, GIR, Le Creuset, KitchenAid and Misen, and kept only items showing as in stock on Amazon when we checked. We chose a range of builds, sizes and shapes rather than nine versions of the same spatula. Some popular versions, including the Di Oro large (ATK’s co-winner) and the 13.5-inch Rubbermaid, showed as out of stock, unavailable or low in stock, so we picked the closest in-stock listing.
Specifications come from the Amazon listings and makers’ descriptions, with retailer and maker product data where a listing was silent. We read America’s Test Kitchen’s silicone spatula review and quote its measurements and findings where we use them. We have not used these spatulas for this guide, and we did not rely on Serious Eats, Wirecutter or the New York Times.

Silicone spatula questions, answered
Which silicone spatula does America’s Test Kitchen recommend?
ATK’s current review names two co-winners, the Di Oro Living Seamless Silicone Spatula (Large) and the OXO Good Grips Everyday Silicone Spatula, and calls the 13.5-inch Rubbermaid High-Heat Scraper its Best Large Spatula. It also recommended U-Taste and Tovolo models and recommended GIR, StarPack and Misen spatulas with reservations.
What is the best silicone spatula brand?
Di Oro and OXO share ATK’s top spot, and Rubbermaid Commercial is the restaurant standard for large scrapers. Choose by build: one-piece silicone, a firm core and a stated heat limit matter more than the name.
Is a silicone spatula good for frying?
For stirring and scraping in a hot pan, yes, within the maker’s heat limit: Di Oro, U-Taste, Tovolo and StarPack state 600°F, Rubbermaid 500°F and GIR 425°F. For flipping fried food, a silicone scraper is too thick; use a thin turner instead.
Will a silicone spatula scratch nonstick pans?
Silicone is soft, and the makers here list their spatulas as safe for nonstick cookware. Pair one with a good pan from our best nonstick pans guide.
What do Serious Eats and Wirecutter recommend?
We did not read or rely on Serious Eats, Wirecutter or the New York Times for this guide, so we cannot speak for their picks. Our choices rest on maker specifications, listings and America’s Test Kitchen’s published review.
How do I get stains and smells out of silicone?
Wash promptly after tomato sauces and spice-heavy dishes; ATK’s stain test used tomato sauce and curry powder. Darker spatulas hide stains better, according to ATK, and most one-piece spatulas here can go in the dishwasher.
The silicone spatulas to start with
Buy the OXO Everyday as your main spatula, and add the Di Oro Pro 14-inch, a Rubbermaid scraper or a spoonula when you find yourself reaching for a second one. They pair naturally with the rest of a baking and prep kit; see our best measuring cups and best baking pan sets guides, and our explainer on salsa roja vs. salsa verde for something to scrape out of the blender.
