Wine lovers are easy to buy for in one way: a bottle is always welcome. But it is gone in a night, and it is risky to pick for someone with firm opinions. A tool, a set of glasses or a good book lasts much longer, and it doesn’t ask you to guess at their taste in wine.
This guide lists nine gifts from named makers. Each says plainly who it suits, and we sort by small, mid and splurge rather than prices, which change. These gifts are for adults of legal drinking age, and we leave out the novelty racks and joke glasses.

Quick verdict: the best gifts for wine lovers by person
For most people, give the Rabbit 6-Piece Wine Tool Set, which handles opening, pouring and saving a bottle. For a small gift, choose the Vacu Vin Concerto Wine Saver. For a serious collector, the Coravin Timeless Six+ pours a glass while the cork stays in.
The other six include glasses for red and white, a lever corkscrew, an aerator, a cooler sleeve and a friendly book.

Our picks for the best gifts for wine lovers
The list runs roughly from small gifts to splurges, so you can start at the size that fits the person.

1. Vacu Vin Concerto Wine Saver, 2 Stoppers – For the Half-Finished Bottle

Anyone who drinks one glass on a weeknight knows the problem of the half-finished bottle. This Vacu Vin set is a pump and two reusable stoppers. You push a stopper in and pump until it clicks, which draws air out of the bottle. The maker says that keeps opened red or white wine fresh for up to 10 days.
It is small enough for a thank-you or a stocking, and useful enough that it stays in the drawer. It only does the one job, and it is meant for still wine, so it is not a solution for a bottle of bubbly.
Why we like it
- A pump and 2 reusable stoppers
- Click tells you the seal is set, per the maker
- Stoppers are dishwasher safe, per the listing

Why we recommend it
Give this to someone who rarely finishes a bottle in one sitting, including a person who lives alone or a couple with different tastes.
Skip it if their bottles never last the night, or if they mostly drink sparkling wine.
Pros and cons
Pros
- Solves a real problem
- Small enough for a stocking
- Sold by the maker when we checked
Cons
- Still wine only
- Not much to unwrap
2. Peugeot Frizz Wine Cooler Sleeve – Cold Without an Ice Bucket

This is for the host who remembers the white wine ten minutes before guests arrive. Keep the sleeve in the freezer, then stretch it over a bottle. Peugeot says it cools in 20 minutes and keeps a bottle chilled for 2 hours, after 2 hours in the freezer first.
It fits 750 ml still and sparkling bottles, and it reaches up to the neck. The maker also says the fabric prevents condensation, so the table stays dry. It needs freezer room, and it is only useful to someone who drinks chilled wine. The stated warranty is 5 years, unusually long for a small gift.
Why we like it
- Fits still and sparkling 750 ml bottles
- Cooling time stated by the maker
- 5-year maker warranty stated
Key specifications

Give this to someone who drinks white or sparkling wine and has people over without much planning.
Skip it if they drink only red, or if their freezer is already full.
Pros and cons
Pros
- Replaces an ice bucket
- Stretches to fit the bottle
- Stated warranty
Cons
- Needs 2 hours in the freezer first
- Not useful for red drinkers
3. The New Wine Rules, Jon Bonné – Plain Advice, No Snobbery

The subtitle calls this a genuinely helpful guide to everything you need to know, and that sets the tone. Jon Bonné’s book is published by Ten Speed Press, and it is aimed at people who want to drink better wine without studying for it.
A book is a good choice when you do not know what gear the person already owns. We have not read this one, and we found no Publishers Weekly review of it at that magazine’s page for this ISBN, so this pick rests on the author and the publisher. For a deeper reference, see our best wine book guide.
Why we like it
- A named author at a trade publisher
- Easy to wrap
- Needs no storage
Key specifications
| Model | Not applicable |
|---|---|
| Who it suits | A curious beginner |
| Gift size | Small |
| What it is | Book |
| Material | Paper |
| Size | Not stated |
| Care | Not applicable |
| Warranty | Not applicable |
Why we recommend it
Give this to someone who has started paying attention to what they drink, but feels lost in a wine shop.
Skip it if they already read about wine, because this is not a reference work for experts.
Pros and cons
Pros
- Easy to give
- Pairs with a bottle
- Takes no counter space
Cons
- Not for serious students of wine
- Rests on author and publisher details
4. Rabbit 6-Piece Wine Tool Set – The Whole Kit in One Box

Many people who like wine still open bottles with an old waiter’s key from a drawer. This Rabbit set replaces the drawer. It holds the Original Rabbit lever corkscrew with a spare arm, a foil cutter, a pourer and stopper, a champagne sealer and a wax remover.
The listing says the corkscrew removes a cork in three seconds, and a lever is simply easier for many hands. The tools are polycarbonate and reinforced nylon, so they are lighter and less heavy-duty than steel. The stated warranty is 2 years. It covers the most ground in this guide, which is why we put it first for someone you do not know well.
Why we like it
- Six tools in one set
- Spare corkscrew arm included
- 2-year warranty stated on the listing
Key specifications
| Model | W6015 |
|---|---|
| Who it suits | A first real wine setup |
| Gift size | Mid |
| What it is | Corkscrew and tool set |
| Material | Polycarbonate, reinforced nylon |
| Size | 6 pieces |
| Care | Not stated |
| Warranty | 2 years, per the listing |
Why we recommend it
Give this to a new wine drinker, a young couple or anyone still struggling with a cheap corkscrew.
Skip it if they already own a lever opener, or if they want the look and weight of metal tools.
Pros and cons
Pros
- Covers opening, pouring and saving
- Lever is easy on the hands
- Ready to give
Cons
- Plastic body
- Bulkier than a waiter’s key
5. Vinturi Deluxe Red Wine Aerator Tower Set – A Small Bar Showpiece

For the red wine drinker, a Vinturi is fun to use and easy to explain. You hold the glass under the aerator, pour, and listen to the sound it makes. This set adds a tower arm and base so the aerator stands above the glass, plus a no-splash grate and a sediment filter, according to the listing.
The aerator itself is the same one on our best wine aerator page. We include this tower version because the stand is what makes it feel like a present, and it needs a spot on a bar or a sideboard. The maker says aeration enhances flavor, which is for the drinker to judge.
Why we like it
- Stand frees up both hands
- Includes a sediment filter
- Dishwasher friendly, per the listing
Key specifications
| Model | V1071 |
|---|---|
| Who it suits | A red wine drinker with a bar |
| Gift size | Mid |
| What it is | Aerator with tower stand |
| Material | Not stated |
| Size | 6-piece set |
| Care | Rinse or dishwasher, per the listing |
| Warranty | Not stated |
Why we recommend it
Give this to someone with a bar cart or sideboard who usually opens red wine and enjoys a little ceremony.
Skip it if they prefer to decant, or if there is no room to leave it out.
Pros and cons
Pros
- Fun to use with guests
- Handles a whole bottle or one glass
- Filter catches sediment
Cons
- Takes up space
- Red wine only
- Same aerator as cheaper versions
6. Le Creuset LM-200 Lever Corkscrew – An Heirloom in a Black Box

This corkscrew is based on Screwpull’s classic lever and grip, according to the listing, and it is meant to handle stubborn or fragile corks. It comes with a matching foil cutter and a replaceable corkscrew, which means a worn screw does not end the tool’s life.
The black gift box is also useful for storage, and the stated warranty is 10 years. It has no food-contact enamel, so the Le Creuset lead question does not apply here. It is a large tool for a small drawer, and someone who opens a bottle once a month will not need this much.
Why we like it
- Replaceable corkscrew
- Black gift box included
- 10-year limited warranty stated
Key specifications
| Model | LM-200 |
|---|---|
| Who it suits | A regular wine drinker |
| Gift size | Mid to splurge |
| What it is | Lever corkscrew |
| Material | Not stated |
| Size | With foil cutter |
| Care | Not stated |
| Warranty | 10-year limited, per the listing |
Why we recommend it
Give this to someone who opens wine several times a week and values a tool that lasts.
Skip it if you are buying the Rabbit set, since they do the same main job, or if drawer space is tight.
Pros and cons
Pros
- Long stated warranty
- Parts can be replaced
- Comes ready to give
Cons
- Takes up drawer space
- Sold by a wine retailer rather than the maker when we checked
7. Zwiesel Glas Pure Riesling Glasses, Set of 6 – Six Glasses That Go in the Dishwasher

Good glasses are a real upgrade, and they are an easy gift for someone who owns a set of mismatched tumblers. This set of six is shaped for light, lively whites such as Riesling, stands 8.7 inches tall and holds about 10 ounces. It is made in Germany from Tritan crystal and is dishwasher safe, according to the listing.
On lead, Schott Zwiesel’s own listing for its Tritan glass describes it as a non-lead material made of titanium and zirconium oxide. Stems can still break, and a slim Riesling shape will not be everyone’s idea of an all-purpose glass. For more shapes, see our wine glasses as a gift guide.
Why we like it
- Made in Germany, per the listing
- Dishwasher safe
- Maker describes Tritan as non-lead
Key specifications
| Model | 26.112414 |
|---|---|
| Who it suits | A white wine drinker |
| Gift size | Mid to splurge |
| What it is | White wine glasses |
| Material | Tritan crystal glass |
| Size | About 10 oz; set of 6 |
| Care | Dishwasher safe |
| Warranty | Not stated |
Why we recommend it
Give this to a white wine drinker, or to a couple setting up a home who entertain often.
Skip it if they mostly drink big reds, which do better in a wider bowl.
Pros and cons
Pros
- Six glasses for hosting
- Easy care
- Maker lead statement
Cons
- Tall stems need cabinet height
- Narrow shape for one style of wine
8. Riedel Extreme Cabernet Glasses, Set of 4 – A Diamond-Shaped Bowl

The Riedel name is the one many wine lovers ask for. The Extreme line has a diamond-shaped bowl with sharp angles, and the listing says this glass is designed to highlight dark fruit and refine tannins in Cabernet. It is machine-made crystal glass, dishwasher safe, 9.7 inches tall and sold as a set of four.
One honest note on crystal. Riedel’s FAQ says that since 2015 it has made crystal glass that “does not use lead oxide” “as a principal ingredient”. That stops short of an explicit lead-free statement for this set. The tall glass may not fit every cabinet, and the angular shape is a matter of taste, so this is best when you know they enjoy this style.
Why we like it
- The maker’s own design for Cabernet
- Set of four
- Dishwasher safe, per the listing
Key specifications
| Model | 5441/0 |
|---|---|
| Who it suits | A Cabernet drinker |
| Gift size | Mid to splurge |
| What it is | Red wine glasses |
| Material | Machine-made crystal glass |
| Size | Set of 4; 9.7 in tall |
| Care | Dishwasher safe |
| Warranty | Not stated |
Why we recommend it
Give this to someone who drinks big reds, already cares about glassware and knows the Riedel name.
Skip it if a clear maker lead-free statement matters to you. The Zwiesel set is the better choice then.
Pros and cons
Pros
- Well-known name
- Striking shape
- Easy care
Cons
- No explicit lead-free statement
- Tall glass
- Sold by a third-party kitchen shop when we checked
9. Coravin Timeless Six+ Wine Preservation System – A Glass Without Opening the Bottle

This is the gift for someone with bottles they are saving. Coravin’s system pours wine through a needle without pulling the cork, and argon gas replaces what you pour. The maker says the remaining wine can then keep for weeks, months or even years.
The 14-piece kit includes the Timeless Six, 3 argon capsules, 6 screw caps for screw-top bottles, an aerator, a needle clearing tool, a bottle sleeve and a carrying case. Capsules are consumables, so they will need to buy more over time, and these are sold on Amazon. CPSC lists a 2014 repair recall for the older Coravin 1000 system, which is not this model.
Why we like it
- Pours wine with the cork in place
- Screw caps included for screw-top bottles
- Ships with 3 capsules and a case
Key specifications
| Model | SIX+ |
|---|---|
| Who it suits | A collector who drinks by the glass |
| Gift size | Splurge |
| What it is | Wine preservation system |
| Material | Not stated |
| Size | 14-piece kit |
| Care | Not stated |
| Warranty | Not stated |
Why we recommend it
Give this to a serious wine lover who wants to try one glass from a good bottle, or who has a small collection.
Skip it if they drink everyday wine and finish the bottle, because the vacuum pump above does that job for much less.
Pros and cons
Pros
- Lets a good bottle last
- Complete kit
- Works on screw tops with the caps
Cons
- Needs replacement capsules
- A big gift for a casual drinker
How to choose wine gift ideas they will use
Find out what they drink
A chilling sleeve does nothing for someone who only drinks Cabernet, and an aerator does little for a Riesling fan. Look at what they serve you the next time you visit. It tells you more than any gift list.
Ask how fast a bottle goes
Someone who has one glass a night needs a way to save the rest. Someone who opens a bottle with friends needs glasses and a good opener. Preservation gear only makes sense if bottles usually last more than a day.

Check what they already own
A second corkscrew is rarely exciting. If they already have a lever opener, move on to glasses, a sleeve or a book. A glance in the drawer will save you an exchange.
Think about crystal and care
Thin stems are lovely, but they break. If the glasses are going to a busy household, dishwasher-safe crystal is a kinder gift. Tell them it is safe to run them through the machine, since many people assume otherwise.
Be careful with alcohol as a gift
Every gift here is for an adult who already enjoys wine. If someone has stopped drinking, or you are not sure, pick a different present altogether.
How we picked these nine wine gifts
We chose named makers with in-stock listings, and left out novelty items and items from our other gift pages. We have not used these products, so this page rests on listing and maker details and what a working restaurant looks for at the table. We did not rely on outside reviews for this list.
The Vinturi set uses the same aerator as a model on our aerator page, and we kept it because the tower is the point of the gift. Glass is covered by our lead rule: Schott Zwiesel describes Tritan as non-lead in its own listing, and we quote what Riedel’s FAQ says and leave it at that. We checked the CPSC recall database by brand and found only the older Coravin 1000 recall mentioned above and a 2011 Le Creuset glass lid recall, unrelated to this corkscrew.
Wine gift questions, answered
What is a good wine gift for someone who knows a lot about wine?
A preservation system or a stand-out glass. Avoid buying them a bottle unless you know their taste, and avoid beginner books. The Coravin suits this person best.
Do wine lovers really want a corkscrew?
Only if theirs is a struggle. If you see them wrestling with a cork, a lever opener is a kind gift. Many people are happy with a simple waiter’s key, and our best wine opener guide covers those.
How many glasses should I buy?
Four is a fair number for a couple, and six for someone who hosts. Always check that the glasses will fit their cabinet, since tall stems are the usual problem.

Does a vacuum pump really save wine?
Vacu Vin says its pump keeps opened wine fresh for up to 10 days. That is the maker’s figure, not ours. In any case, it is cheap enough that the gift is low risk.
What about a bottle of wine as a gift?
It is always welcome, and it pairs well with any small gift here. Add one to the sleeve or the book if you want the present to feel more complete.
Our final gift pick for a wine lover
If you can buy only one, buy the Rabbit set. It suits most people who like wine and do not yet own good tools. For more on the gear itself, see our best wine glasses and best wine decanter guides.
And when you would rather let someone else pour, see the drinks list or call to order.
