Check the Fit First: How to Pick the Best Sink Sprayer

The best sink sprayer for your faucet: eight replacement side sprays with the stated fit for each, and how to check your connection before buying.

A tall kitchen faucet over a white sink, under a window.

A side sprayer is a small part that gets used hard. It rinses the sink after tomatillos and washes masa off a bowl, then drips from the trigger one day or starts leaking under the sink. Replacing it is one of the easier kitchen repairs, as long as you buy a part that connects to your faucet.

That’s the catch, and it’s why this guide is organized by fit. Brand-made sprays are often sold for particular faucet lines, while universal parts work with many hoses but not all of them. Each pick below states which faucets it’s meant for. Nearly all the information here comes from makers’ listings, because independent testing of these parts is hard to find.

Julia’s earns a commission on purchases made through links on this page, at no cost to you. Recommendations are based on what a restaurant kitchen looks for, product specifications, makers’ statements and the independent sources we name. We have not used these products ourselves.

Quick verdict: which sink sprayer to buy

If you know your faucet’s maker and series, buy that maker’s part: Moen, Delta, Kohler or Pfister. If you don’t, buy the Danco Side Spray Head and Hose, listed to fit most Moen, Delta and Kohler faucets. If only the trigger has failed, the Danco 88760 head replaces just that. Look under the sink first, though, because a quick-connect fitting changes the answer.

1. Danco Side Spray Head and Hose, Chrome – Broad Fit, Head and Hose Together

Best overallDanco Kitchen Sink Side Spray Head and Hose

When you don’t know your faucet’s history, a kit with both head and hose solves most problems at once. Danco’s 89215 is listed to fit across most Moen, Delta and Kohler faucets, with a detachable braided hose meant to resist kinking and a head that’s easy to clean. Danco is a plumbing-parts maker, the kind you find at hardware counters, and this is its core business.

The listing has one slip: the title says chrome and a feature line says brushed nickel, so look at the photo and the current listing if the finish matters. Danco’s instruction sheet for its similar side spray kit shows why these jobs are usually simple: shut off the water, swap the guide and head, snap on a C-clip, hand-tighten and check for leaks. It lists no tools needed for that kit.

Why we like it

  • Listed to fit most Moen, Delta and Kohler faucets
  • Includes head and braided hose
  • Hose detaches from the head
  • From a dedicated plumbing-parts maker

Key specifications

Model 89215
Part type Head and hose
Stated fit Most Moen, Delta and Kohler
In the box Head, hose
Build Plastic
Finish Chrome per title; a feature says brushed nickel
Connection Not stated
Warranty Not stated

Why we recommend it

It suits a home where the old sprayer leaks or the hose has kinked, and the faucet’s maker or age isn’t clear.

Skip it if your faucet is a recent model with a proprietary quick connect. Check for that first, because a broad-fit kit may not click in.

Pros and cons

Pros

  • Covers the common brands, per the listing
  • Replaces both worn parts
  • Simple repair

Cons

  • Plastic head
  • Finish text conflicts
  • Most, not all, faucets

2. Moen Universal Side Sprayer, Chrome – Moen Part With a Broad Name

Best from a faucet makerMoen Universal Chrome Kitchen Replacement Side Sprayer

Moen’s 179108 is an authentic Moen replacement part with a universal name. It has a reflective chrome finish and a stated strong spray pattern for rinsing, and Moen says it’s designed for easy installation. If you have a Moen faucet, this is the natural first look, as well as a reasonable try on others.

The listing doesn’t spell out which non-Moen faucets it fits, or whether a hose is included, so universal needs care. It also shows a 1-year warranty field but a limited lifetime warranty line in its features. That’s worth confirming with Moen. The seller was 67 Hardware rather than Amazon when we checked.

Why we like it

  • Authentic Moen replacement part
  • Sold as universal
  • Chrome finish
  • Moen warranty, term to confirm

Key specifications

Model 179108
Part type Side sprayer
Stated fit Universal, per title
In the box Sprayer; hose not stated
Build Not stated
Finish Chrome
Connection Not stated
Warranty Listing shows 1 year and limited lifetime

Why we recommend it

It suits a Moen household that wants the maker’s own sprayer without tracking down a model-specific part.

Skip it if you need a stated list of compatible faucets, or a hose. This listing doesn’t give either.

Pros and cons

Pros

  • Genuine Moen part
  • Bright chrome
  • Simple replacement

Cons

  • Fit details are thin
  • Third-party seller
  • Warranty lines conflict

3. Moen Stainless Side Spray and Hose With Duralock – A Click-In Moen Repair

Best for Moen DuralockMoen Stainless Replacement Kitchen Side Spray Head and Hose Assembly with Duralock Quick Connect

This is the part for a Moen faucet that uses the Duralock quick connect. It includes both sprayer and hose, in a stainless finish that coordinates with Moen’s stainless and Spot Resist Stainless faucets. Moen’s listing tells you what you need to do before buying: verify that your faucet has a Duralock side spray connection.

That’s a good habit for this whole category. Look under the sink first. If you see a push-in fitting rather than a threaded one, you probably have a quick connect and need a part made for it. Moen’s kit costs you some flexibility, since it won’t suit other brands. For other Moen options, see our Moen faucet guide.

Why we like it

  • Head and hose in one kit
  • Duralock quick connect
  • Coordinates with Moen stainless finishes
  • Genuine Moen part

Key specifications

Model 136103SL
Part type Head and hose
Stated fit Moen faucets with Duralock side spray
In the box Head, hose
Build Not stated
Finish Stainless
Connection Duralock quick connect
Warranty 1 year limited

Why we recommend it

It suits a Moen faucet with Duralock, particularly in stainless, where a matching look counts.

Skip it if your faucet doesn’t have a Duralock connection, as Moen itself warns.

Pros and cons

Pros

  • Exact-fit system
  • Matching finish
  • Complete repair

Cons

  • Moen Duralock only
  • Check the fitting first
  • Less versatile than Danco

4. Delta Spray and Hose Assembly, Stainless – A Named Delta Faucet Fit

Best for DeltaDelta Faucet RP39345SS Spray and Hose Assembly

Delta’s listing is short but gives what you need: a genuine repair part, spray and hose together, in stainless, for use with Waterfall and Signature kitchen faucets. It’s a plain case of matching the part to the faucet, and its limited lifetime warranty field is the longest term stated here alongside Pfister’s.

Delta sells many model-specific sprays, such as the Pilar assembly, and they aren’t interchangeable. If your faucet isn’t a Waterfall or Signature, look up your model on Delta’s site before buying this one. Our guide to the Delta kitchen faucet line covers the current range if you’re thinking of replacing the whole thing.

Why we like it

  • Genuine Delta repair part
  • Spray and hose together
  • Named faucet fit
  • Limited lifetime warranty field

Key specifications

Model RP39345SS
Part type Head and hose
Stated fit Delta Waterfall and Signature kitchen faucets
In the box Head, hose
Build Not stated

Connection Not stated
Warranty Limited lifetime

Why we recommend it

It suits owners of those two Delta lines who want the original part and its warranty.

Skip it if you have another Delta model. Fit is by model, so this one may not connect.

Pros and cons

Pros

  • Exact stated fit
  • Long warranty field
  • Original part

Cons

  • Only two lines named
  • Sparse listing
  • Connection type not stated

5. KOHLER Genuine Side Spray With Hose, Chrome – Kohler Part, Holder Sold Apart

Best for KohlerKOHLER GENUINE PART GP1021724-CP KITCHEN FAUCET SIDE SPRAY WITH HOSE

Kohler’s GP1021724-CP is a genuine pull-out side spray with hose, in polished chrome, for various Kohler kitchen faucets. That wording is broad, and the listing doesn’t name the faucet lines, so check your faucet’s parts page first. Note also that the side spray holder isn’t included, which is worth knowing if yours is cracked.

Kohler says its finishes resist corrosion and tarnish, and the warranty field gives one year. Other Kohler sidesprays are sold for specific lines, and several were low in stock when we checked, which is why this is the one we picked.

Why we like it

  • Genuine Kohler part
  • Includes the hose
  • Polished chrome
  • Corrosion and tarnish resistant, per Kohler

Key specifications

Model K-GP1021724-CP
Part type Head and hose
Stated fit Various Kohler kitchen faucets
In the box Head, hose; no holder
Build Not stated
Finish Polished chrome
Connection Not stated
Warranty 1 year limited

Why we recommend it

It suits a Kohler owner with a worn side spray and a holder that’s still sound.

Skip it if your holder needs replacing too, since this doesn’t include one.

Pros and cons

Pros

  • Genuine part
  • Comes with hose
  • Chrome finish

Cons

  • Faucet lines not named
  • Holder sold apart
  • One-year warranty field

6. Pfister Side Sprayer, Hose and Guide, Stainless – The Fullest Kit for Pfister

Best for PfisterPfister Pfister 951-023S Side Sprayer

Pfister’s 951-023S is the most complete kit among the brand-made parts, with sprayer, hose and hose guide together. Its listing also has the clearest fit statement on this page: Pfister 26 Series kitchen faucets, in the Avalon, Treviso and Murielle collections. The Pfister Forever Warranty is stated to cover finish and function for life.

It’s a genuine part, sold individually in stainless steel finish. If you own one of those three collections, there’s little reason to look elsewhere. If you don’t, this won’t be a good guess. The maker tells you exactly who it’s for, and that’s rarer than it ought to be in this category.

Why we like it

  • Names the faucet series and collections
  • Includes hose guide
  • Pfister Forever Warranty stated
  • Genuine Pfister part

Key specifications

Model 951023S
Part type Head, hose and guide
Stated fit Pfister 26 Series: Avalon, Treviso, Murielle
In the box Head, hose, guide
Build Not stated
Finish Stainless finish
Connection Not stated
Warranty Forever, finish and function

Why we recommend it

It suits owners of those Pfister faucets who want a full repair in one box.

Skip it if your faucet isn’t a Pfister 26 Series.

Pros and cons

Pros

  • Clearest stated fit here
  • Most complete brand kit
  • Lifetime coverage stated

Cons

  • Narrow fit
  • No connection detail
  • Not a general part

7. Danco Universal Fit Sink Spray Head, Chrome – Replace Just the Head

Best head onlyDanco 88760 Universal Fit Sink Spray Head

Many sprayers fail at the head, not the hose. They drip from the trigger or spray unevenly as mineral scale builds up. Danco’s 88760 is the cheap way to fix that, since it attaches to your existing hose. It’s listed as a universal fit for most existing side spray hoses, with a thumb trigger and a chrome finish over durable plastic.

Before you buy, try cleaning the old head, because mineral buildup may be the whole issue. If the hose itself leaks, is kinked or has cracks, buy a head and hose kit instead. The limited one-year warranty is modest, but this is a simple part.

Why we like it

  • Attaches to your existing hose
  • Universal fit for most hoses, per Danco
  • Thumb-controlled
  • Simple do-it-yourself job, per Danco

Key specifications

Model 88760
Part type Head only
Stated fit Most existing side spray hoses
In the box Head
Build Plastic, chrome finish
Finish Chrome
Connection Fits existing hose thread
Warranty Limited 1 year

Why we recommend it

It suits a leaky trigger on a hose that is otherwise sound.

Skip it if the hose is the real issue. A new head won’t fix a kinked or leaking line.

Pros and cons

Pros

  • Smallest repair possible
  • Broad fit
  • Easy to clean

Cons

  • Plastic body
  • Hose not included
  • Won’t suit quick-connect hoses without a match

8. PlumbCraft Kitchen Sink Sprayer With Hose – Head, Hose and Guide on a Budget

Basic full kitPlumbCraft Kitchen Sink Sprayer with Hose

PlumbCraft, sold here by Homewerks, offers a basic kit with a thumb-triggered sprayer, a hose and a matching guide. The title says it fits most faucets, with no further detail on the fittings. It’s made of plastic, the title says black while the color field says black and white, and it doesn’t pretend to be more than a working kitchen spray.

Of all of these, this is the one we’d treat as a stopgap or a rental fix. There’s no stated warranty, and the fit claim has less behind it than Danco’s named brands. But if your guide and hose are both gone, it provides all three parts in one package.

Why we like it

  • Head, hose and guide in one kit
  • Thumb trigger for one-handed use
  • Fits most faucets, per the title
  • Durable plastic, per the listing

Key specifications

Model 7635100T
Part type Head, hose and guide
Stated fit Most faucets, per title
In the box Head, hose, guide
Build Plastic
Finish Black and white, per listing
Connection Not stated
Warranty Not stated

Why we recommend it

It suits a rental, a garage sink or a quick fix where matching the faucet’s finish doesn’t matter.

Skip it if your faucet is a newer quick-connect model, or if you want the finish to match.

Pros and cons

Pros

  • Complete kit
  • Simple design
  • Uncomplicated fix

Cons

  • No stated warranty
  • Vague fit
  • Plastic look

How to choose a replacement kitchen side sprayer

Start under the sink, not on the product page.

Find your faucet’s maker and model. Look for a logo on the faucet, or a manual or sticker on the supply lines. If you can identify it, go to the maker’s parts list. That matters more than anything else here. Our guides to Moen and Delta faucets may help you recognize yours.

Check the connection. Look at where the side-spray hose joins the faucet under the sink. Threaded fittings and push-in quick connects don’t swap freely. Moen’s Duralock is one such system, and Moen’s own listing tells you to verify it before buying. Take a photo before you start.

Head or whole hose. A leaky trigger or an uneven spray usually points to the head. Clean it first, because mineral scale may be the only trouble. A wet cabinet, a kinked hose or a cracked line points to the hose, so buy a kit with both.

Do you need the guide? The guide is the piece that sits on the sink deck and holds the sprayer. Pfister’s and PlumbCraft’s kits include one. Kohler’s listing specifically says the holder isn’t included, and most others don’t mention it. Inspect yours before ordering.

Know the basic job. Danco’s sheet for one of its side spray kits shows the sequence: shut off the water, loosen the old guide from under the sink, install the new one, connect the head to the hose with its clip, hand-tighten without over-tightening, turn the water on and check for leaks. Keep a towel and a flashlight handy.

Finish and warranty. Chrome is the default, and brushed finishes cost a little more effort to match. Stated warranties here run from one year to Pfister’s and Delta’s lifetime terms. If the faucet itself is old and corroded, a new one may make more sense, and our inexpensive faucet guide is a good place to start.

How we chose these eight side sprayers

We required a stated fit on each listing, which ruled out several Delta and Kohler parts that gave no faucet names. We kept to identifiable makers in plain stock with a new lead offer, and skipped Pfister and Kohler parts listed as low in stock. We also left out several online-only universal brands, including one that borrows a Moen part number in its title. Pull-down spray heads for single-hole faucets are a different part, so they aren’t here.

We ran a search for independent reviews and fit guidance. It returned mostly roundups and scraped store pages, and we cite none of them, so this page rests on makers’ listings and Danco’s instruction sheet. We have not installed these ourselves. CPSC records by brand showed nothing on side sprayers.

Sink sprayer questions, answered

Are kitchen side sprayers universal?

Some are sold that way, but universal means most, not all. Quick-connect systems and older faucets can be exceptions, so check the connection first.

Why is my sprayer leaking under the sink?

Often it’s the hose or its connection. Tighten by hand and inspect for cracks or kinks. If it continues, replace the hose. If the leak won’t stop, shut off the water and call a plumber.

Why is the spray weak?

Mineral scale in the head is a common cause, and a kink in the hose is another. A diverter in the faucet can also wear out, and that’s a separate part from the sprayer.

Do I need tools?

Danco’s sheet for one of its kits lists none. Older installs can be stiff, though, and a basin wrench helps in a tight cabinet.

Can I add a side sprayer to a faucet without one?

Only if the faucet has a side-spray outlet and the sink deck has a hole for it. Without those, it’s a faucet replacement. See our kitchen faucet guide.

Our final pick for a working side spray

Buy your faucet maker’s part if you can identify it, and the Danco head and hose kit if you can’t. Check the connection first, and it’s likely a short job. For a bigger change, our kitchen faucet guide covers full replacements. And if the sink is apart tonight, see the menu and call to order from Julia’s.
