A lazy susan is a turntable: a round or square tray on bearings that spins so whatever sits at the back comes round to the front. In a cook’s kitchen it does three jobs. In a deep cabinet it keeps oils, vinegars and cans of chipotles from disappearing behind each other. In the fridge it keeps salsas, crema and pickled jalapeños in view. On the table it passes the limes, the hot sauce and the Tajín without anyone asking.
The best lazy susan for each of those jobs is different: a plastic turntable with a raised rim for the fridge, a two-tier spinner for a spice cabinet, a large wood one for the table. This guide covers eight turntables, with the size, material, rim and base each maker or listing states.

Our picks for the best lazy susan
These eight turntables cover the places a lazy susan earns its keep: cabinet, pantry, fridge, under the sink and the dinner table. Before you buy, measure the shelf: a round turntable needs a square of shelf as wide as its diameter, and it needs the height of your tallest bottle above it.
1. OXO Good Grips 16-Inch Lazy Susan Turntable – A Deep Ledge and an Easy Turn

OXO’s turntable gets the small details right. A deep ledge around the platform helps keep bottles upright as it turns, a soft non-slip lip gives your fingers something to grip, and it runs on steel ball bearings. Underneath, non-slip rubber feet protect the shelf, and OXO designed the base larger than usual so the turntable does not catch on nearby items or walls as the tray spins.
At 16 inches across it is sized for a pantry shelf, a lower or corner cabinet, or a wide, deep fridge shelf; measure first, because it is too big for many upper cabinets. OXO suggests it for cabinets and fridge organizing, which covers most of what a cook asks of one: a ring of oils and vinegars by the stove, or salsas and crema in the fridge where the back of the shelf is otherwise a mystery.
For a standard upper cabinet or a narrow fridge shelf, OXO makes the same turntable 11 inches across.
Why we like it
- Deep ledge keeps items upright
- Soft non-slip lip for turning
- Steel ball bearings
- Non-slip rubber feet
Key specifications
| Turntable | OXO Good Grips, model 1071353 |
|---|---|
| Diameter | 16 in |
| Material | Plastic |
| Raised edge/divided | Deep ledge (raised edge); not divided |
| Non-skid base | Yes, rubber feet |
| Best spot (pantry/fridge/table) | Pantry, lower or corner cabinet, wide fridge shelf |
Why we recommend it
It is a solid first turntable for a pantry shelf or a deep cabinet, where its size pays off.
Skip it if you want a tray for the dinner table; a wood turntable looks better there.
Pros and cons
Pros
- Holds items steady
- Smooth turn on bearings
- Also made in 11 inches
Cons
- Single tier only
- Plain white plastic
2. YouCopia SmoothSpin Two-Tier Turntable – Two Spinning Tiers for Spices

A two-tier turntable doubles the space on a cabinet shelf, which is why it is the usual choice for spices. YouCopia’s has two stacked tiers around a center post that you twist and lock into place, with no tools, and non-slip feet to hold it on the shelf.
The useful detail is the height. The listing gives three settings, with 5, 6 or 7 inches of clearance between the tiers, for an overall height of 7, 8 or 9 inches. That lets taller bottles fit on the lower tier, as long as the cabinet has the room. It measures 10.4 by 10.4 inches and is made of clear plastic, according to the listing.
YouCopia suggests it for sauces, spices and everyday bottles. On a spice shelf, one tier can hold the ground spices you cook with every day, such as comino, chile powder and Mexican oregano, and the other the jars you reach for less often.
Why we like it
- Two tiers in a 10.4-inch footprint
- Three height settings
- Non-slip feet
- Spins a full circle in either direction
Key specifications
| Turntable | YouCopia SmoothSpin, model 50977 |
|---|---|
| Diameter | 10.4 in |
| Material | Plastic |
| Raised edge/divided | Not stated |
| Non-skid base | Non-slip feet |
| Best spot (pantry/fridge/table) | Spice cabinet, pantry or fridge |
Why we recommend it
It suits a cabinet full of spice jars and small bottles where shelf space, not height, is the problem.
Skip it if you want a wide tray; at 10.4 inches it holds less than a 12-inch two-tier.
Pros and cons
Pros
- Doubles shelf space
- Adjustable gap between tiers
- No tools to set up
Cons
- Needs 7 to 9 inches of height
- Rim height not stated

3. YouCopia FridgeView 11-Inch Fridge Turntable – Brings the Back of the Fridge Forward

YouCopia built the FridgeView for the back of the refrigerator, where jars of salsa and half-used cans go to be forgotten. It turns a full 360 degrees on stainless steel ball bearings, and YouCopia says its non-slip feet will not damage fridge shelves.
It is 10.8 inches across, which YouCopia says fits standard fridge and cabinet shelves, and it is made from BPA-free plastic. There is nothing to install: put it on the shelf and load it.
Care is the one catch. YouCopia says to wash it by hand in lukewarm water with mild soap, and that it is not dishwasher safe. In the fridge, that is worth knowing before a jar of salsa tips over.
Why we like it
- Spins 360 degrees on steel bearings
- Non-slip feet protect fridge shelves
- Fits standard shelves
- No installation
Key specifications
| Turntable | YouCopia FridgeView, 50316 |
|---|---|
| Diameter | 10.8 in |
| Material | BPA-free plastic; stainless steel bearings |
| Raised edge/divided | Not stated |
| Non-skid base | Yes, non-slip feet |
| Best spot (pantry/fridge/table) | Fridge (or cabinet) |
Why we recommend it
It suits a fridge where condiments, salsas and leftovers pile up at the back of a shelf.
Skip it if you want to put it in the dishwasher; YouCopia says hand wash only.
Pros and cons
Pros
- Made for the fridge
- Smooth bearings
- Easy set-up
Cons
- Hand wash only
- Rim height not stated
4. iDesign 14.5-Inch Clear Lazy Susan – Clear Plastic for a Bright Pantry

iDesign’s Linus turntable is clear, which keeps a pantry shelf looking light and lets you see labels through the tray. At 14.5 inches across and 1.75 inches high it holds a good ring of bottles: oils, vinegars, a bottle of Valentina, cans of chipotles in adobo.
iDesign says it turns on a smooth-gliding stainless steel ball-bearing mechanism, and a slightly raised outer wall keeps items secure as it rotates. The plastic is BPA free, shatter resistant and food safe, according to iDesign.
Clean it with soap and water; iDesign says not to put it in the dishwasher. The listing does not mention non-slip feet.
Why we like it
- Clear, so labels show through
- 14.5-inch tray
- Stainless steel ball bearings
- Shatter-resistant plastic
Key specifications
| Turntable | iDesign Linus, model 54730 |
|---|---|
| Diameter | 14.5 in |
| Material | Clear BPA-free, shatter-resistant plastic |
| Raised edge/divided | Slightly raised outer wall |
| Non-skid base | Not stated |
| Best spot (pantry/fridge/table) | Pantry or deep cabinet |
Why we recommend it
It suits a pantry or a deep lower cabinet where you want a large, light-looking turntable.
Skip it if your shelf is narrower than 15 inches.
Pros and cons
Pros
- Large capacity
- Looks clean on a shelf
- Smooth bearings
Cons
- Not dishwasher safe
- Low rim, per iDesign
5. Lipper International 18-Inch Acacia Lazy Susan – A Wood Turntable for the Table

A lazy susan started as a table piece, and this is the one for the middle of a family dinner. Lipper’s 18-inch acacia turntable carries salsas, limes, hot sauce and a shaker of Tajín within reach of everyone, and Lipper says it works in a cabinet or on a closet shelf too.
It measures 18 inches across and 1 1/4 inches thick, according to the listing, which gives a maximum weight of 50 pounds. It needs no assembly, but Lipper notes that it ships with the screws tightened all the way to prevent damage, so loosen the screw underneath when it arrives to let it turn freely.
Acacia needs wood care: Lipper says not to soak it or put it in the dishwasher, microwave or refrigerator, and to hand wash it with mild soap.
Why we like it
- Large 18-inch acacia tray
- 50-pound maximum, per the listing
- No assembly
- Works on the table or in a cabinet
Key specifications
| Turntable | Lipper International, model 1118 |
|---|---|
| Diameter | 18 in |
| Material | Acacia wood |
| Raised edge/divided | None stated; flat tray |
| Non-skid base | Not stated |
| Best spot (pantry/fridge/table) | Dinner table, counter or cabinet |
Why we recommend it
It suits a family that eats around a round or square table and passes sauces and toppings at every meal.
Skip it if you want a turntable for the fridge; Lipper says to keep this one out of it.
Pros and cons
Pros
- Warm wood look
- Big enough for a spread
- Sturdy stated capacity
Cons
- Hand wash only, no soaking
- No rim to stop jars sliding

6. YouCopia MagicTrack Rectangle Turntable – A Square Turntable for Deep Cabinets

Round turntables waste the corners of a square shelf. YouCopia’s MagicTrack is a rectangle that still turns: the tray slides forward and around on a patent-pending track with stainless steel ball bearings, so items at the back come to the front. YouCopia says the rectangle shape holds 50 percent more than a standard round turntable.
It measures 10.2 inches deep, 12.5 inches wide and 1.5 inches high, according to the listing, and is made from recycled, BPA-free plastic. Soft non-slip feet keep it steady, and there are no tools, suction cups or installation.
In a pantry it suits cans, jars and bottles: a row of canned chiles, jars of salsa, bags of masa harina stood on end. YouCopia also sells versions with bins and a two-tier spice version.
Why we like it
- Uses the corners of a square shelf
- 50 percent more space, per YouCopia
- Stainless steel ball bearings
- Non-slip feet
Key specifications
| Turntable | YouCopia MagicTrack, model 50965 |
|---|---|
| Diameter | Rectangle, 12.5 x 10.2 in |
| Material | Recycled BPA-free plastic |
| Raised edge/divided | Not stated |
| Non-skid base | Yes, non-slip feet |
| Best spot (pantry/fridge/table) | Deep cabinet or pantry |
Why we recommend it
It suits a deep, narrow cabinet or pantry shelf where a round turntable would leave the corners empty.
Skip it if you want a raised rim; the listing does not describe one.
Pros and cons
Pros
- More usable space
- Smooth track
- No installation
Cons
- Rim not described
- Needs a shelf at least 12.5 inches wide
7. Lipper International Bamboo 2-Tier 10-Inch Turntable – Two Wood Tiers on the Counter

Lipper’s bamboo two-tier turntable is the counter version of the YouCopia: two spinning tiers for spices, oils or small bottles, in wood rather than plastic. It is 10 inches across and 6 7/8 inches tall, according to the listing, which lists it as a two-tier turntable with an outer lip.
Bamboo is a grass, and Lipper describes it as a renewable resource. It needs some care: Lipper says to keep it away from heat and sunlight in a well-ventilated spot, wipe it with mild soap and water, dry it well and rub it now and then with mineral oil.
At 10 inches it is compact enough for a counter corner, with salt, a pepper mill, comino and a bottle of oil within reach of the stove but not on top of it.
Why we like it
- Two tiers in a 10-inch footprint
- Outer lip, per the listing
- Bamboo wood
- Compact for a counter corner
Key specifications
| Turntable | Lipper International, model 8302 |
|---|---|
| Diameter | 10 in |
| Material | Bamboo |
| Raised edge/divided | Outer lip on tiers |
| Non-skid base | Not stated |
| Best spot (pantry/fridge/table) | Counter or cabinet |
Why we recommend it
It suits a cook who wants a few everyday spices and oils on the counter in something that looks at home next to wood boards.
Skip it if you want something you can wash freely; bamboo needs gentle care and oiling.
Pros and cons
Pros
- Warm wood look
- Compact two-tier design
- Clear care guidance
Cons
- Needs oiling
- Base grip not stated
8. Copco 18-Inch Lazy Susan Turntable – A Big Tray for Under the Sink

Copco’s 18-inch turntable is for the big, low spaces: the pantry floor, a deep lower cabinet, under the sink. It has a raised 3/8-inch rim and a non-skid surface molded into the platform, which Copco says keeps items in place while it rotates.
The outside measures 18 inches across and 1.5 inches high, and Copco says the inside is about 1 to 1 1/2 inches smaller. It wipes clean.
The listing’s details table gives a maximum weight of 5 pounds, which is low for a tray this size, so we would use it for lighter items, such as bags of dried chiles, spice refills and paper goods, rather than a load of cans.
Why we like it
- Large 18-inch tray
- Raised 3/8-inch rim
- Non-skid surface molded in
- Wipes clean
Key specifications
| Turntable | Copco, model 2555-0186 |
|---|---|
| Diameter | 18 in |
| Material | Plastic |
| Raised edge/divided | Raised 3/8 in rim |
| Non-skid base | Non-skid surface on the platform |
| Best spot (pantry/fridge/table) | Pantry, deep cabinet or under the sink |
Why we recommend it
It suits a wide, deep cabinet or pantry shelf with lighter items you want to spin into reach.
Skip it if you plan to load it with heavy cans; the listing’s stated maximum weight is only 5 pounds.
Pros and cons
Pros
- Covers a large shelf
- Rim and non-skid surface
- Simple to clean
Cons
- Low stated weight limit
- Needs an 18-inch-wide space
How to choose a lazy susan for your kitchen
The spot. Decide where it goes first. Fridge turntables need to be easy to wipe and stay put on glass shelves; pantry turntables need size; table turntables need to look good and turn under a full load.
Diameter. Measure the shelf width and depth. A round turntable needs a square as wide as its diameter, plus a little room to turn. In this guide, sizes run from 10 inches (Lipper two-tier) to 18 inches (Copco and Lipper acacia).

Rim. A raised edge stops jars and bottles flying off when you spin. OXO’s deep ledge and Copco’s 3/8-inch rims do this; flat wood trays like the Lipper acacia rely on you turning gently.
Base and bearings. Ball bearings, named by OXO, YouCopia and iDesign, give a smoother turn. Non-slip feet or a non-skid base keep the whole turntable from walking across the shelf.
One tier or two. Two tiers suit spices and small bottles in a cabinet with height to spare. One tier suits tall bottles, the fridge and the table.
Material and care. Plastic is light and easy to wipe, though several makers here say hand wash only. Wood and bamboo look better on a table and need hand washing and, for bamboo, the occasional rub of mineral oil.
How we chose these eight lazy susans
We looked at turntables the way a kitchen uses them: in the fridge, in the pantry, in a spice cabinet and in the middle of the table, and asked what each spot needs in size, rim and base. We then picked turntables sold on Amazon in the United States by identifiable makers, checked that each was in stock when we wrote this, and took every specification from the maker’s listing, writing “not stated” where a maker gives no detail and noting where a stated figure looks odd. Farberware and Rubbermaid had no comparable lazy susan we could find on Amazon when we checked, so they are not here. We have not used these products ourselves.

Lazy susan questions, answered
What is the best lazy susan for a kitchen cabinet?
For a standard upper cabinet, a turntable of 10 to 12 inches, such as the YouCopia two-tier for spices; for a pantry or lower cabinet, the OXO Good Grips 16-inch turntable. For a deep, square cabinet, the YouCopia MagicTrack rectangle uses the corners a round turntable leaves empty.
What size lazy susan should I get?
Measure the shelf and subtract an inch or so for clearance. Ten to 12 inches fits most upper cabinets and fridge shelves; 14 to 18 inches suits pantries, lower cabinets and the dinner table.
Is a wood or plastic lazy susan better?
Plastic for the fridge, pantry and under the sink, because it is light and easy to wipe. Wood for the table, where looks matter; Lipper says its acacia turntable should not go in the fridge.
Can you put a lazy susan in the fridge?
Yes, if it is made for it. YouCopia designed the FridgeView for refrigerator shelves, and OXO suggests its turntable for fridge organizing. Check the maker’s care advice, since several say hand wash only.
What goes on a lazy susan on the table?
Whatever gets passed: salsas, lime wedges, hot sauce, salt and a chile-lime seasoning. Our guides to salsa roja and salsa verde and Tajín cover two favorites.
