Pollo rostizado works because the bird turns: fat runs off, the skin browns all the way round and the meat bastes itself. A rotisserie air fryer oven does a small version of that on the counter. It is a convection oven with a strong fan, a door, racks and a motorized spit that clips into the side walls, so the same appliance that crisps papas fritas on a Tuesday can turn a whole chicken on Sunday.
This guide is about air fryer ovens that come with a rotisserie spit in the box. Dedicated rotisserie ovens are covered in our best countertop rotisserie oven guide. For each oven below we list capacity, power, temperature range, the rotisserie parts included and the largest roast the maker states, and we write “Not stated” when neither the maker nor the Amazon listing gives a figure.

Our picks for the best rotisserie air fryer oven
1. Instant Omni Plus 19-Quart Air Fryer Toaster Oven – A Toaster Oven With a Spit

The Omni Plus is a toaster-oven-shaped air fryer from Instant. The listing names ten functions: air fry, bake, broil, dehydrate, toast, reheat, roast, warm, convection bake and rotisserie. Inside there is room for six slices of bread or a 12-inch pizza. That makes it the easiest oven on this page to use as an everyday oven, with the spit coming out when you want a chicken.
Instant gives a temperature range of 170 to 450°F, the highest top temperature here, and 1800 watts. The double-layer glass door keeps the heat in, and Instant says it needs little or no preheating. The box includes an enamel baking tray, a stainless-steel oven rack, an air-frying basket and a barbecue-style rotisserie spit. Instant says the tray, basket and accessories are dishwasher safe.
Instant does not state the largest bird the spit will carry. Its manual lists ‘food too heavy’ as one reason the rotisserie may not turn, so choose a small chicken and center it on the spit.
Why we like it
- Ten functions, including rotisserie.
- 170 to 450°F range, per Instant.
- Fits a 12-inch pizza or six slices of toast.

It also has 100 presets and 50 memory slots. The probe lets you cook to the internal temperature that counts: the USDA says poultry is safe at 165°F.
Nuwave describes the rotisserie as self-basting, browning the whole chicken while the fat drips away, and the basket can tumble fries or vegetables. Nuwave does not state the largest bird it carries. A retailer lists a one-year limited warranty.

The normal range is 95 to 400°F with twelve presets on a touch screen. Chefman’s quick-start chart lists the rotisserie preset at 400°F for 45 minutes. In the box are three cooking racks, a stainless-steel rotisserie spit with forks, a retrieval tool for lifting the hot spit, and a drip tray. How to choose a rotisserie air fryer oven
Check what the spit will carry. Most makers do not state a maximum weight, and only one oven here names a bird size. As a rule, a spit in a 10- to 15-quart oven suits a small chicken. If you roast big birds, buy the largest oven you have room for.
Shape: toaster oven or tower. Wide ovens such as the Instant Omni Plus and the Beelicious also toast, bake on flat pans and take a pizza. Tall towers such as the Vortex, Gourmia and Brio have a smaller footprint and a deeper cavity for the spit.
Rotisserie parts. A spit with forks is the minimum. A rotisserie basket (Nuwave, Instant Vortex) tumbles wings and fries, and a lift tool or retrieval tool saves your hands when the spit comes out hot.
Temperature control. A higher top temperature (450°F on the Omni Plus, or the Chefman’s Hi-Fry) helps crisp skin. Fine steps and a probe (Nuwave Brio) help you cook to doneness instead of to the clock.
Space around the oven. These ovens vent hot air. West Bend’s manual asks for at least 4 inches on the sides and top, so measure under your cabinets before you buy.

Cooking a rotisserie chicken safely in an air fryer oven
Cook to temperature, not time. The USDA’s safe minimum internal temperature chart gives 165°F for all poultry, and 145°F with a rest of at least three minutes for pork roasts. Check the thickest part of the thigh with a thermometer, away from the spit and the bone. Our guide to the best meat thermometer covers instant-read models.
Truss the bird tightly so wings and legs don’t catch on the heating elements, center it on the spit so the motor turns evenly, and put the drip tray in place before you start. Leftover chicken goes in the fridge, and our guide to reheating Mexican leftovers covers bringing it back for tacos.
How we picked these seven ovens
We have not cooked with these ovens in Julia’s kitchen for this guide. We started from air fryer ovens sold on Amazon in the US that include a rotisserie spit, kept only models in stock when we checked, and left out any oven already recommended in our other air fryer, toaster oven and rotisserie guides, with one exception: the Instant Vortex 10-quart, which we explain in its pick. Specifications come from the makers and the Amazon listings. We looked for recalls of every brand here on the Consumer Product Safety Commission’s site and found none covering these ovens.
We left out ovens whose listings describe a rotating function without saying a spit is included, and ovens marked as low in stock.

Rotisserie air fryer oven questions, answered
Is an air fryer oven with rotisserie as good as a rotisserie oven?
It does the same job for a small chicken, and it also air fries, bakes and toasts. A dedicated rotisserie oven usually takes a bigger bird; see our countertop rotisserie oven guide if that is all you want.
How big a chicken fits in a rotisserie air fryer oven?
Only the Beelicious states a size here: a 6-pound chicken. The others don’t say, so a small chicken is the safe choice in a 10- to 15-quart oven.
Can I make al pastor on an air fryer rotisserie?
You can roast stacked, marinated pork on the spit for a home version, though it turns horizontally rather than on a vertical trompo. Read what al pastor is for how the real thing is cooked.
Do I need a rotisserie basket?
Only for small pieces such as wings, fries or vegetables. The Nuwave Brio and the Instant Vortex include one.
What temperature should rotisserie chicken reach?
165°F in the thickest part, per the USDA. Use a thermometer rather than the preset time.

Our final pick for a spit on the counter
Buy the Instant Omni Plus if you want the best rotisserie air fryer oven for most kitchens: a true toaster oven with air frying, a spit and the highest top temperature here. Choose the Nuwave Brio for exact temperatures and a probe, the Instant Vortex for a small kitchen, the Chefman for crisp skin and the Beelicious for big birds. Whatever you choose, cook the chicken to 165°F.
